Just had wonderful late spring/early summer visit with girlfriends at this lovely home in highlands, nc. We all did a day at Old Edwards Inn at the Spa and came back at night refreshed and cooked dinner and it was cold enough to start a fire! We all walked and ran around the house to mirror lake and the wildflowers were just starting to bloom. Everyone had their own bedroom and we had plenty of space to lounge and enjoyed the comfortable den and living room. Porches are great during the day to listen to birds and relax. Peaceful and special stay with old friends in the mountains. Would highly recommend for large or small groups!
Photos don't do the house justice. We stayed in this charming home last fall at the height of the leaf season with several couples. This house sits like a treehouse high in the trees with complete privacy and a view of a small mountain just at the edge of the property . Loved sitting by the fire and looking outside at the leaves turning and listening to the creek below the deck and the birds feeding off the deck. Our group did several hikes that were nearby and had two wonderful dinners in town. We also cooked at home, the house is fully equipped and the decor in the home is welcoming and charming. It's also beautiful to canoe from the house to Mirror Lake where the leaves were on full display. Wonderful mountain weekend!
I brought my grown children and 5 grandchildren to stay in this wonderful mountain home for a week last August. This lovely house is very spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for kids to play downstairs and adults to relax upstairs in and outside on the porches. We loved having afternoon meals on the deck in the midst of the trees. The setting is very serene and beautiful. House is convenient to town for shopping and restaurants and you can canoe to Mirror Lake from the property. We can't wait to return!
