Come discover an area that has gone unnoticed for years. This will not be a vacation spent amongst a sea of tourists. Ka Liki O Ka Lani is located in the little village of Ewa Beach, which is located on Oahu's southwest shore. It is approximately 17 miles from the airport and 22 miles from Waikiki. Here you will experience old-style Hawaii where sunshine is plentiful.
You will love this quaint plantation-style home. It is located directly across the street from a beautiful stretch of white-sand beach where you can play in the gentle surf, take romantic strolls along the beach and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of our magnificent Hawaiian sunrises and sunsets.
Try your hand at shoreline fishing or just sit back, relax and watch the sea turtles feeding close to shore. A real treat is to catch sight of the local fisherman spearing fish in the reef. From the beach you can enjoy the view of Diamond Head during the day and the lights of Waikiki at night.
Ka Liki O Ka Lani has beautiful hardwood floors and is adorned in Hawaiian-style furnishings. French doors lead onto a wooden porch shaded by a large Plumeria tree. The porch is perfect for dining or sipping tea, coffee, or your favorite iced drink. Please help yourself to the limes we have growing in the yard. It also has a covered carport and a hot/cold, outside shower.
Ka Liki O Ka Lani offers the type of vacation setting we look for when we travel. Amenities include 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, Air Conditioning; DSL High Speed Internet Connection; TV/VCR; Washer/Dryer; Fully-equipped Kitchen with a Stove, Dishwasher, Refrigerator with Ice Maker, Coffee Pot, Microwave, Toaster, Blender, Dinnerware, Cookware; Starter Paper Products; Dishwashing Detergent; Laundry Detergent and Bath Soap; Gas BBQ Grill; Outside Hot/Cold Shower; Snorkel Fins & Masks; Beach Towels; Boogie Boards; Beach Chairs; Beach Mats; Ice Chest; Iron and Ironing Board; Games, including Dominoes, Cards, and Board Games.
If swimming, boogie boarding, surfing and sunbathing are not enough to keep you busy, nearby are six golf courses, Waikele Outlet Shopping Center (which includes name-brand stores Saks Fifth Avenue, Mikasa, and Ann Klein, to name a few), an awesome water park, and a 12-plex movie theater. You also can't miss visiting Pearl Harbor, the Bishop Museum, the Iolani Palace, and attending a luau. With all of these activities available, you will leave wishing you had more time here.
LOCALLY OWNED and OPERATED.
Aloha! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. The fruit basket was a lovely surprise and the coffee was incredible! Thank you so much for your hospitality. This has been our family's trip of a lifetime!!!
The house was fantastic, everything that was advertised! It was very clean and beautifully maintained. It was great for our 2 teens to each have their own bedroom. The welcome basket was such a nice touch, and provided us with snacks for the week! The bath was spacious, with a large whirlpool tub, overhead skylights, and wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispenser. The kitchen was well furnished. There were plenty of beach towels and beach equipment available for us to use. The beach is just across the street and down a short path, and it is quiet and friendly. The location was perfect - away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki/Downtown, but easy access to practically everything, from Ko Olina to Diamond Head. Having AC and ceiling fans in each room was also nice on those warm days. The washer and dryer are new and worked great. We loved the off-street covered parking - no hot car to get into - and a nice privacy gate for the driveway made us feel very secure. We would love to come back to this property, and would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone.
We spent a lovely two weeks here and we did not want to leave! The home is in a great location, steps to the beach. and great for taking day trips around the Island. Honolulu is only 20 mins, the north shore 45 min and KoOlina (where the lagoons are) only 20 min. The house is great for families, we were travelling with our three kids (8, 5 and 11 months), we needed comfort and we got it. Upon arrival we were met with a clean house, highchair and crib (as per request) and a lovely welcome basket of fruit and chocolate (THANK YOU). Brenda, the manager was very attentive when we called about the broken outside shower door and had someone fix it straightway. My only complaint about the house would be no vacuum cleaner, it was hard to keep the sand out and I had to sweep it in the corners so my 11 month would not eat it.
Being in a local community, slightly off the main tourist areas, there are less restaurants. If you like fast food then you are in heaven, but if not there are grocery stores nearby or drive to Honolulu or KoOlina. In Ewa we did try Fiesta (mexican grill), Teddy's bigger burger and ninja sushi (which were all very good). There is a shave ice place called Ewa seed co. that makes great shave ice. The kids loved it.
The house is in a fairly quiet neighbourhood, they do have a noise bylaw saying residents need to be quiet by 10 pm, although they had an exception on new years eve as it felt like we were in a war zone. Also the clean up after new years was pretty poor, the beach was littered with firework debris which was a shame. We also had a neighbour who lost his dog a few times and always seemed to be when we were putting the kids to bed. But overall it was still a pretty peaceful place to be.
We very much enjoyed our time here and would definitely consider returning in the future!
I was looking for a three bedroom to share with a diverse group of ages, ranging from 10 to 83, as my brother was retiring from the Navy at Pearl Harbor, and a group of us traveled to meet up to celebrate. The house was as nice as the pictures - very clean, very well taken care of - the beach is a short walk away, and was quiet each time we went, with beautiful views and gentle waves - the house was large enough that we all had our own space, and we made good use of the kitchen and the large porch. I'd only note that staying at Ewa Beach means you'll do plenty of driving - and dining options outside of fast food are few and far between - beyond that, the area is quiet and residential, there was a fine grocery a short drive away, and it worked perfectly for our particular needs.
Was a great rental. Very close to the beach nice to have everything supplied (toys, boogie boards, coolers, chairs etc...). Nice location to make day trips to other parts of the island. We did not have any problems with the gun range heard some noise a couple times but was never early in the morning and was never a nuisance to us and no barking dog! Appreciated the basket with fruit and chocolates left for us. Brenda was quick to respond when we called for her assistance and was very nice. As is Darla when making the reservations. The BBQ could be replaced as it is showing its age but still ok to grill on. Grocery shopping and all other convienences are easy and close to get to. Some improvments were being done as we were leaving to make better some things that needed attention. Overall would recommend this rental.
My sisters, nephew and I just returned from a wonderful week at your lovely home. While we did not spend a lot of time here, it was a great place to call "home" at the end of the day. We made great use of the beach mats and boogie boards as we "beach hopped" around the island. All was as advertised except the absense of a welcome basket, but no problem. We had use of a kitchen which saved us the expense of breakfast out each day. Also having a washer/dryer and the outdoor shower was a huge plus when traveling to a beach destination. Having three bedrooms and two bedrooms was also MUCH better than crowding into a hotel room. And being in a neighborhood was a great alternative to contending with downtown traffic everyday. Thanks so much.
The vacation house was very well stocked and clean, it met my families needs. The owner was quick to reply to any e-mails or questions I had. The welcome basket was sweet and unexpected! What isn't mentioned is that you are about a block away from a shooting range and EVERY morning at 7 AM sharp they start shooting and that's all you can hear! That's fine when you have to get up and leave for the day but when you want to sleep in it's almost impossible! Also the neighbors dog barks incessantly when it is left along...which is almost every afternoon. The beach is OK if all you want to do is sun tan but you can't go more than 6 feet in the water because of the rocks. It's in a questionable neighborhood but we were never bothered and there are a few other renters around you.
