About kevin or tamara skenandore
Tammy and I have owned property here on Aspen Ridge for 35 years. We own a larger cabin right next to our guest/rental cabin they we have just decided to put on the rental market. We are here to make your stay as restful and enjoyable as possible. The "Moose is Loose Lodge' is located in one of the most beautiful, peaceful, serene area's of Island Park, Idaho. Tam and I are retired and spend a lot of our time landscaping and beautifying our property. You will find the cabin extremely clean and well maintained for your enjoyment.
Why kevin or tamara skenandore chose Island Park
The property is located in the heart of some of the most beautiful country in Island Park, Idaho. If you have questions on where to hike, what to see in or out of the park, we have lived in this area for many years and would be glad to share some ideas for your biking, hiking, fishing and exploration.
What makes this Cabin unique
You'll love the swing out back to read a book or just enjoy nature. The moose frequent the cabin area quite often, and it's not uncommon to see them standing outside the back window, eating the fire weed. This isn't one of a bunch of small cabins for rent, you will find it a very peaceful, and relaxing environment.

Away from the crowds!
I loved being in Island Park rather than West Yellowstone. We were rural and had opportunities to see more wildlife just driving into the park. Kevin visited with us many times along with his precious pup, Ozzie. Kevin even alerted us when moose were sighted 7 miles south on hwy 20. This is a beautiful cabin with all of the amenities one needs if you are planning an active, hiking vacation. The cabin has super comfortable beds and living area. We used the microwave and toaster oven for snacks. There were excellent restaurants in West Yellowstone where we went when we needed a hearty meal. I totally recommend this cabin!!
Excellent Location for Yellowstone
My wife and I stayed for a week while visiting Yellowstone and loved the property. The woodwork and decor is over the top! Comfy bed, clean, and super friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Moose is loose!
It was a wonderful place to headquarter for our Yellowstone site seeing trip. Great amenities for all and a most peaceful sleep.
Wonderful experience. Would highly recommend this lodge. Owners are friendly, and everything is just as the pics show. Very beautiful
Dr. Huang’s family
We stayed one week and fine a very hospitable family.
The name is right for the cabin. Drove three day in Yellowstone couldn't fine a Moose, the owner came over and told us big Bull Moose in backyard. What a sight, ten yards away. Great owners, beautiful cabin. Bring cooler, small refrigerator in cabin. Highly recommend this one.
The lodge is just west of Highway 20, turn west at mile marker 398 on Redrock Road, travel west 1/4 mile, then turn left on Pinion Street, go 100 yards and the lodge is on the right.
Beautiful 9 hole golf course 5 miles from the property, Henry's Lake fishing 3 miles, Henry's Lake outlet fishing 1 mile, and right out the back door of the property you are surrounded by the absolute beauty of nature. Bike, hike, run, and explore the Centennial Mountain Range! Drive to YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK in just 15 minutes! Drive west fifteen miles to the Redrock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, twenty-five miles to the south are the famed Mesa Falls. Take a raft down the Henry's Fork river, just 5 miles south of the property.
The location of the lodge is extremely convenient to accessing YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK! It is on the North end of Island Park and is just 3 blocks from Highway 20, and then 17 miles on Highway 20 and you are in YNP!
I currently guide for the Drift Lodge, 3 blocks from the cabin, and would be glad to give you tips and idea's on some flies to use and where to fish.
