About Kristyn Avrett
I'm a California girl who wound up in the south. I moved to Charleston in my mid 20s and met a local boy who I'm very happily married to with 3 amazing kids. We love to travel, although the kids make it a little more difficult then it used to be. My favorite pace so far is Italy, we went there on our 5th anniversary and can't wait to go back! On my bucket list is Alaska, Spain, and England. When we travel we like to stay off the beaten path and explore the less touristy parts of the area. The best places we have eaten and experienced were always things we stumbled upon. At home you will typically find me outside chasing my baby boy around everywhere from the beach to the park, even in the rain, he loves being outside and on the run! I'm a very proud stay at home mom but also help my husband out in our business. I run the office and keep him organized. In my spare time, if that's even a thing with 3 kids, I like to run, do yoga, read, and watch tv (a luxury, especially if I get to choose the show).
Kristyn Avrett purchased this House in 2016
Why Kristyn Avrett chose Asheville
My husband grew up on that mountain, his grandfather bought the property back in the 50s and built a house on the top of the mountain for himself. That's where my husband and his family would go every summer for at least a week. It's always been a very special place for him. So when his grandfather gave us the opportunity to build a house of our own up there we jumped at the chance. This house was designed by my husband and built by a great builder in Asheville. We lovingly picked out all the furniture and decorations. We love being able to share this place with others and hope you love it as much as we do!
What makes this House unique
The house is so close to downtown, only 10 minutes, yet feels so secluded. That is my favorite part, you can be right in the middle of everything in just a few minutes or you can stay in your own little piece of the forest. We are also so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Mountains to the Sea Trail. From there you can walk all the way to Mount Mitchell in one direction or the Outer Banks on NC coast in the other. We've never walked that far but maybe you are more adventurous than we are! We do like to go to the Folk Art Center and Lunch Rock on that trail. We also always drive the Parkway to usually stop for a hike in Graveyard Fields. Downtown is a fun place in the evening and we love to get dinner and dessert at a chocolate bar close to the center of town.

Great place to stay!
The home was very clean, decorated adorable, & was the perfect location. It was so peaceful & quiet yet still so close to everything! We will definitely be back!
Best of both worlds.
You feel like you are a world away in the Blue Ridge Mountains, yet you are a 10 minute drive to downtown Asheville. Beautiful cabin in a great location.
Beautiful, sweet home in the mountains.
The Blue Ridge Fire Tower is a wonderful place. Very quaint and cozy with amazing views! Comfy beds and nice bathroom, I would definitely book again!
Beautiful home in a private setting, close to downtown
My family was looking to stay in an house where we felt like we were secluded, while at the same time being close to downtown Asheville. We found the perfect house in the Blue Ridge Fire Tower! It sits on the side of a mountain with beautiful views and hiking trails right outside the front door, and only 15 minutes to downtown. The house was clean, beautifully decorated (think Joanna Gaines) and my family felt right at home. We appreciated the Welcome Packet that the owners sent that included information about their home, the surrounding area and their recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. We appreciate the owners sharing their home with us! Can't say enough...would highly recommend this awesome home!
