Guestbook comments from the manager

Dear Home Owners,

We thank you very much for letting us stay in your cottage. We really enjoyed it. We went on the boats and fished. The cabin was very cozy with comfortable beds. The lake was an amazing view. We ended up being able to see the bald eagle! That was awesome because we saw him go hunting into the water! At night we would make smores & hot dogs on the fire pit. They tested great! Thanks again! ;)

Winter Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Peace and quiet and serenity - exactly what I needed. I just love the coziness of the cabin and the "beach side cottage" decor was such a welcome atmosphere in the middle of winter. I had the beautiful floor to cathedral ceiling fireplace blazing during my entire stay. If this had been a normal New England winter, I would have done some cross country skiing, skating, snow shoeing right out the door and accross the gorgeous lake (what a view). I'm a little relieved that I it wasn't a normal winter though, because it gave me the opportunity to totally relax. I had time to cook and paint (artist) and read. I imagine this to be a perfect cabin for a writer in the middle of winter too. Thank you to Rindy for providing a great escape.

What a beautiful lake! Quiet, peaceful cottage.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage had everything one could need. Simple and relaxing. It was a pleasure to hop out of bed and right onto the lake. We enjoyed the use of the sailboat, kayaks and paddle board too. We also did a few excursions on our bikes and hiking local trails. A lovely place. Thank you to the owners for use of their quaint cottage on the lake.

quaint, quiet, and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are both school teachers and needed a little R&R during our spring break from school. This was a last minute trip we needed to book and Rindy made it very easy to handle. This cute cottage on the lake is exactly what we were looking for! Mother Nature was a little confused though - one day snow, next day rain, yuck! lol Although the weather did not cooperate for us and the outdoor activities we had wanted to do, we made the best of our stay! I made sure to bundle up and have my morning coffee on the enclosed porch and admire the gorgeous view! The cottage was very clean, and well equipped with any items we may have forgot at home. Rindy was a pleasure to do business with. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable trip. We look forward to visiting again! :)

Beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying in this cottage, and we are currently planning to return again in December. We absolutely love it in the Fall, the foliage is amazing, the best view I've ever seen. We also love it under the snow. The view from the windows, skying on the lake, or running around it, or simply walking on the wast property. The cottage itself is very cozy and comfortable, especially with the fireplace and a bottle of good wine.

The privacy was never an issue, because even in the winter, without the foliage, the hill separates the cottage from the owner's house, making it completely invisible.

Absolutely beautiful! The house is clean and has everything you need. Our favorite part was the screened in porch with the beautiful view and kayaking in the evening. We all had such a good time including the dogs. The neighborhood itself is so nice and the people are wonderful. We will absolutely be back!

August in heaven !

  • 5 of 5

The title of my review says it all, is not it ? We truly did not expect Mindy and Jon's cabin to fit our needs and lifestyle so well, and for the all month of august. The view is majestic, the calm is everywhere (yes, even in august), the wildlife all around is captivating, the cabin is adorable (a little outdated furniture wise but yet, so sweet and elegant - the beds are comfortable - everything in it works well - the fast speed internet too, yeah ! ), the lake is serene, the water clean and full of fishes, the village of Salisbury 10mn nearby offers everything you need, a supermarket, a great bakery and an even greater wine shop...and many restaurants we never went to....why should we when we can have our meals on a large screened porch with a view like ours ?...

The owners, Mindy and Jon, live right next door, which is reassuring in many ways, and at the same time, they never invaded our privacy. They are real and honest people, that is also something that needs to be mentioned.

We arrived to the cottage a little worried about what to expect. We left enchanted, slightly heartbroken. We basically did nothing all day and never got bored, a real discovery for two new-yorkers like us !
