COASTING is a lovely, private villa located on the turquoise shores of the Caribbean Sea. Surrounded by 5 acres of private, lush, mature landscape, it borders the sea until you reach the white sands of Bloody Bay beach. The forest reserve of Tobago is your backdrop. Truly a vision back to the days of Robinson Crusoe. Vistas are of sea, sand, and forest. Time stands still as you explore the grounds and stumble upon a relic of Tobago's colonial past or amble along the stream that trickles and drops through the property. Your heart skips a beat as adventure and romance take hold of you. Romantic, intimate and beautiful!
Ideal for nature lovers. Bloody Bay Beach and Tobago's forest reserve with its abundance of birdlife are at your doorstep. And just a short drive away are the popular beaches of Englishman's Bay and Castara. You can treat yourself by finding and exploring new treasures each day of your vacation, either by foot or by rental car.
COASTING: Past the hotels, past the city heat, past the tourist areas...
A little further along the coast to where the waiting pirogues are laden with seine, the sea turtles swim and the frigate birds circle around you.
A little further along the road to where the vegetation is a deeper shade of green, the rivers flow in the dry season and the mot mots glide by at eye level.
Treat yourself to something truly unique. This is the real Tobago.
Beautiful, intimate, private!
This was our second visit to coasting and my wife and I (both retired) and we had the good fortune to be there when Cindy and Fred the owners were in residence. They are very friendly and helpful people, nothing being too much trouble.
The house was spotless when we arrived and Cindy had provided some basic provisions for our initial few days.
Because Coasting is some way from the airport, the caretaker Frederick meets you and takes you to the Supermarket in Scarborough so you can stock up. He even provides a cooler box to take the frozen food in.
Tobago is a beautiful island with lush green forests, amazing birdlife and the friendliest of local people and the place to stay is Coasting. If you are a fisherman and you are there between November and April get Fred the owner to show you his special place to fish!
The owners have adopted 3 of the local dogs and they are just as friendly as the people of Tobago and will often come to visit and escort you to the local beach if you go for a walk.
This is a genuine review and if you wish for confirmation just email Cindy and Fred and they will happily give you our email address.
We stayed in the villa whith our kids (11 and 13) for one week during the end of November. It is hard to believe that this kind of place still exist in the world until you see it for yourself. From one side there is a rainforest and from the other side there is the Caribbean Sea and you are on top of a hill. We travel to a lot of places , but this is our first time to Tobago and it was an excellent experience. Cindy and Fred (owners) provide amazing service for their guests. They meet you at the airport, take you shopping, and provide food for the first day. We went grocery shopping at “Penny’s Mart” for our main groceries, and after that we bought our fruits and vegetables at stands. The house is big enough for 1 or 2 families and also very convenient. They also have two very friendly dogs who keep you company when you go to the beautiful beach. We rented a car and travelled the whole week in Tobago. We went snorkeling to Pigeon Point, Rainforest tour, and Castara Beach. The local people are very helpful and very friendly. We even tried a couple of times their local street food. It was tasty! Thank Cindy and Fred for a spectacular week. Tobago Island itself is a wonderful place, Coasting property is truly special

We absolutely loved Coastings and would highly recommend it. We stayed at Coastings for 11 days with another couple. The home was lovely with two full porches for an afternoon of reading or an evening dance party, a grass lawn surrounded by beautiful flowering trees excellent for bird watching by my morning cup of coffee, and a small dipping pool for cooling off at any time. The kitchen was great, everything you could want from making pina coladas to grilling fresh fish. The owners were living in the nearby house and that proved to be a plus and they could advise us on good beaches, naturalist guides, and traveling routes (Tobago isn’t the easiest place to drive!). Cindy and Fred were excellent hosts, giving us all the privacy we wanted but available for questions most any time.
Coastings was a perfect get-away. It is in an ideal location for us, surrounded by rain forest trees and flowers, a five minute walk to a beautiful beach, and near to some excellent restaurants. I would recommend Coastings to anyone wishing for a true Tobago experience, some adventure, and a relaxing, peaceful vacation.
Our stay at Coastings was just what the doctor ordered. We were looking for something away from the crowds and relaxing. The villa is situated in a stunning area, in the north side on the island away from the more touristy areas. The views across the bay, the beautiful gardens and its private setting provided for all our needs. You definitely need a car to get your basic daily needs but it will also enable you to get to see the island. You don't need to go far to experience the delightful bays and beaches such as Englishman's Bay but the island has so much to see you may choose to go further. There are some interesting walks to explore from the villa - Dead man's Bay is very close by but you do have to scramble down a steep slope, okay for those who don't mind taking a few risks! well worth it when you get to the beach to swim in the blue waters while the pelicans dive for fish!!
The villa is comfortable, has everything you need, for the first time in a long time we spent evenings listening to music, playing scrabble and talking to each other along with a few drinks because there is no TV (what a change!). In short this type of holiday does get you away from everything and was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries.
This was our first visit to Tobago & we had a great time..." Coasting" was a breath of fresh air, peaceful & tranquil.. & the birds were amazing! The owners Cindy & Fred were so helpful but not obtrusive. A meal in the fridge the first night, very much appreciated. The beaches are just beautiful & its great to take the dogs for a walk too! Fred arranged a birding walk with a local & very famous guide who was just incredible.. 25 new birds in 3hrs! Thanks Cindy & Fred for being so hospitable x
Easy to find and good access off the paved Northside Rd in Bloody Bay, St John's Parish. An hour+ N-E from Scarborough and the airport along the Caribbean coast. 10 minutes N-E of the charming village of Parlatuvier, between the Bloody Bay Junction and L'Anse Formi. A short drive along the road to lovely Charlotteville. Good local restaurants within a 20 minute drive, the nearest being 2 km away.
Bloody Bay beach, although fortunately undiscovered by visitors, is a favourite with the locals. Not only is it great for pulling seine, cricket games and Sunday picnics, it is wonderful for swimming, snorkeling and body surfing. The beach slopes gently into the water and is shallow and firm below foot for easy access.
Other Activities: bird watching, local waterfalls, snorkeling, rain forest and river hikes, deep sea fishing, boating. Golf and surfing within a reasonable drive.
