Within blocks are a European deli and market, bakery and sandwich shop, three wineries and a grocery store leaving little need to leave the neighborhood. In addition there are bike rentals, Segway rentals, peddle surrey rentals, a skate park, the Chase Palm Park with a merry-go-round and the site of a craft fair each Sunday that lines the beach boardwalk. The Santa Barbara Zoo and the Bird Sanctuary are an easy mile and half walk. If you are traveling to Santa Barbara by train the Secret Getaway is two blocks from the train station and there is a car rental agency two blocks away in case you want to explore the Santa Ynez Valley wine country. If you are tired of walking, all of these attractions can be reached by a local 25 cents-a-ride shuttle bus that runs up State Street and along the ocean front from the harbor to the zoo.
Our Affordable Getaway is about 700 square feet and offers a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with king bed, clean full bathroom with limestone throughout,a large living room with full size pull out couch, Waterford fireplace, 42' high definition TV and DVD, and sliding glass doors leading to a large private balcony complete with chaise lounges, table and chairs, gas grill and potted plants. We also offer complimentary wireless broadband interne. private washer and dryer and very rare for the beach private reserved parking.
We are located in the best area of Santa Barbara, the Historic West Beach area, a high end residential neighborhood, not on a commercial thoroughfare or adjacent to the railroad tracks or highway.
In addition, we equip you with a binder filled with recommendations for activites and restaraunts.

There are so many Santa Barbara properties available for rent. The number one difference between all of them are location, location, location. The closer to the beach and the closer to Santa Barbara the more expensive the real estate. We are 2 blocks to the beach and downtown, not on a commercial thorough fare, not next to the highway or railroad track and not a bus ride or car ride away from downtown. We combine our location with the best pricing and the best amenities. Finally, we are immaculately clean
Booked this condo for our honeymoon as it was actually cheaper than a hotel room w/kitchenette for the same length of stay.
The pictures do not do this unit justice. Was absolutely perfect in every aspect. It was immaculately clean, stocked with anything you could need ( blender, coffee maker, mnicrowave, pots and pans, knives, spices, beach towels, etc). A washer and dryer in the unit as well.
Location is great as well. Exactly 2 blocks from the beach. 101 freeway is 1/4 mile away, as is a gas station and convenience store. Although we usually drove to State Street ( downtown shopping and dining haven), i would guess its only about a 15 min walk.
All instructions for the condo along with recommendations of restaurants and shopping were emailed to me and we experienced no issues.
Melanie was prompt in returning emails during the planning process as well. We are already planning on returning for our anniversary next year! Beautiful place to stay at a more than fair price. You will not be disappointed.
Nicely furnished, clean condo within walking distance of Stearns Wharf, the beach, shops and restaurants! The condo was very comfortable, with a great balcony for lounging! Melanie and Todd are wonderful and made sure that all of our needs were met. Our security deposit was returned to us promptly, which was very appreciated.

We visited Santa Barbara for a girls' get-away and the Affordable Beach Getaway was perfect. It was even nicer than the pictures - beautifully furnished and lots of amenities in the kitchen plus a big screen TV and great patio for lounging. We were an easy walk to the the beach and to all the shops, restaurants, and local wine tasting venues! Plus, the location is very close to the 101 for easy access to the airport and other Santa Barbara sights. We rented a car because we wanted to do some side trips, and it was really nice having reserved parking. Be sure to take advantage of Melanie's tips for places to wine and dine - very helpful! Santa Barbara was a great vacation choice...and so was this apartment!

We have been to Santa Barbara several times but this is the first staying at this condo. It turned out to be the perfect place for us. Close to everything, spacious, clean; it was absolutely perfect. Communication with the owners was spot on. Any questions we had were answered within a couple of days. The instructions for the condo (directions, location of keys, how to operate the TV, best places to shop and eat) were so helpful. This condo added to our overall enjoyment of the entire trip. If we ever return to Santa Barbara, this will be the place we stay. Thank you!
If you want a very comfortable and clean place to stay in Santa Barbara which is a 5 minute walk to the beach and harbour and a 15 minute walk to the main shopping area, restaurants and bars then we have the secret for you. THIS PLACE. My wife and I spent a week here when visiting from England and felt we could have not done any better had we tried every property in town! Melanie was so helpful; her welcome pack and recommendations were spot on and she got back to us with answers to any questions so quickly. We would have no hesitation in coming back here again.
