I can't begin to express our delight upon arriving at LouBeeLure! The winding road led us to a charming house with a beautiful view of the lake. As if to welcome us, perched on the deck, was a real, live bluebird! Well, this was the beginning of a wonderful vacation! Our family enjoyed many hours swimming and floating in the lake, sitting on the porch watching the sunrise and playing scrabble til late into the night. We also rented a boat to explore the lake, drove to Asheville for dinner one evening, hiked and mountain biked several trails in the area. For groceries, Ingles grocery store is close and convenient and very nice. Dinner and drinks at Larkins on the Lake is a must. LouBeeLure is perfect for a family vacation! It's clean, comfortable and charming! We hope to return and feel very blessed that our family experienced Lake Lure at LouBeeLure!! Thank you Bee!

A Fantastic Stay! - As Always

  • 5 of 5

Well, first I have to say I'm hesitant to write a review of this place for fear it will become in such high demand that I'll never be able to get a booking again! That being said, this place is just absolutely fantastic. It's was our 2nd time here and I just can't say enough about the beauty of the location - on an island and right on the shore at the center of Lake Lure. The place is always very clean, cozy, with a great floor plan and plenty of room. My family is pretty active, but the warmth of the house and the scenic beauty of the property makes it very hard for us to want to leave to go anywhere. But, while that may be true, we also like LouBeeLure because the location is ideal - well, perfect. It's at the center of all activity. Bald Mountain Resort, Rutherfordton, Chimney Rock, Hendersonville, Asheville... all are close and very easy to get to from here. And if all of this wasn't enough to rave about, special mention really needs to go out to the owners of the property. I just don't think you could ask for more caring, accommodating, nicer people. Thanks for making our Thanksgiving vacation the best!

On our drive home we all tried to come up with something/anything that could be better than LouBeeLure. The best answer came from my son who said the only thing better would be to live there year round!

My Beloved Mountain Summer Vacation Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I have lost count the number of years we've vacationed here in this cozy, clean and well appointed home. We've always love the lower deck at water level where we spend most of the day playing, relaxing and reading. Then in late afternoons and into the evening we occupy the covered lower porch. We love the rocking chairs and rock in them for hours.

This year was a pleasant surprise to see a new refrigerator and stove. Both are very nice stainless steel models.

We highly recommend LouBeeLure for a wonderful, relaxing time on beautiful Lake Lure. We'll certainly be back!

Like your Grandparents super summer hide away!

  • 5 of 5

For several years now we have spent a week (or more) at this super comfortable home on beautiful Lake Lure. The owners are super attentive and the house is always clean and well stocked. The house in on 3 levels. On the main level you have an open area living and dining area as well as a small kitchen. The living room has a working fireplace (if you rent in the colder months). Also access to an outdoor deck with grill and dining set. Also on this level are two bedrooms and a full bath. Upstairs in the loft area is a large bedroom (king bed) and a small bathroom with a shower. On the lowest level you have a furnished den with tv, a table and chairs for playing board games (provided), one bedroom with 2 twin beds and a full bath. Also a laundry. Off the den is a covered deck that we absolutely adore and spend most of our time on in the evenings. We sit in the provided rockers looking out over the lake and share stories with our friends, enjoy drinks, and cherish the time we can spent together in such a nice setting.

There is a suspended boardwalk down to the boat house and lakeside deck where we spend our days floating on the water and lounging lakeside reading books.

The decor and feel of the house is if you are visiting your grandparents treasured vacation retreat. It is perfect for families who want to spend time together without the hustle of a more frenetic vacation destination.

Definitely intended for relaxing and recharging the batteries! We look forward to our return each year.

For the Love of LouBeeLure

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 had one of the most relaxing , enjoyable summer vacations ever. LouBeeLure had amazing lake views , awesome decks to swim off of , kayaking/canoeing options , and 3 levels for our family " spread out " in . The covered deck with the rocking chairs was especially nice to sit out on to be protected from the sun and sprinkles . The location of the cottage was spectacular for morning / evening strolls and we loved having Ingles so close by . We will definitely be back . Thank you , Bee and Lou!

About M. Bee Jones

My sister, Lou, and I grew up in Spartanburg, SC, and the waters of Lake Lure were our “playground" for fun times with family and friends. Our memories of summer are filled with sharing all that life on a beautiful mountain lake has to offer: swimming, skiing, boating, floating, sunning, relaxing, hiking,…all punctuated with laughter, games, skits, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and shared meals around the table. Lou and I purchased and enjoy LouBeeLure in the tradition of our roots: to keep our family continually connected in joyous fun as we grow and geography separates us.

We are blessed being by this perfect lake and the allure of the mountains drawing all those we love to us. We hope to share our blessing and offer a vacation rental with friend and family camaraderie as the main goal.

M. Bee Jones purchased this house in 2000

Why M. Bee Jones chose Lake Lure

Lakefront, big water rather than a small, closely packed, tucked away cove;

Plenty of porches, decks, docks to enjoy being outdoors;

Location is especially convenient: easy drive from the interstate & 5 minutes to the grocery store;

Loved the seemingly private neighborhood…car traffic at a bare minimum;

Liked the coziness of an older, traditional home;

Morning sun / afternoon shade.

What makes this house unique

Beautiful Lake Lure is perfect for making memories, enjoying traditional lake life. Activities abound or you can just kick back & relax.
