My husband and I came to Colorado to relax and recharge our batteries, while enjoying some beautiful scenery. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations! The house was very cozy- it is small but was plenty of space for the two of us. It was SO clean and you can tell it has been very well-maintained with attention to detail. Turn one way out of the driveway, and you are headed into "downtown" Winter Park; the other way takes you into the forest. It feels secluded but is so conveniently located for anything you'd want to do. The owners were kind and very easy to work with in regards to reservations and payment.
My friend and I from Denver wanted to stay in a cute cabin for a mini-vacation in the mountains, and this cabin was exactly what we wanted. The pictures don't do it justice! All the furniture was comfortable, including the queen-sized bed, so I always got a good night's sleep. The kitchen had all the pots and utensils we needed to cook every night (it even had a kettle and different kinds of tea), and the nearby Safeway was great (lots of produce and organic choices). We had our meals on the lovely front porch where we could watch the hummingbirds eating from the feeders. There were plenty of hiking trails nearby so that we could enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The owner was great and very easy to work with. We will definitely be coming back!
My wife and I stayed in this cabin over President's Day Weekend 2015 as we skied Winter Park. The cabin is just as great as the pictures. It had a roomy living room with gas fireplace, table for four, and a nice sized bedroom. The kitchen was very well stocked with most useful items, ie crockpot, very good non-stick cookware, toaster, spices, a coffee grinder, etc. We lacked for nothing in terms of cookware. And the fridge had an ice-maker, something many VRBO properties seem to not have. The cabin also had numerous books, games, and DVDs. The bedroom mattress was firm, which is a preference of mine.
The cabin was clean beyond belief. We enjoyed the front porch, using the gas grill one evening which was also very clean. The cabin is so very well decorated, and you seem to notice something new each time you enter.
If you ski, this property is located on the south side of Winter Park closest to the ski area, about 2 miles to Winter Park Ski Area, and perhaps two miles north to the Safeway in Frasier (get groceries at the Safeway, normal 'grocery' prices). It was a short mile or so drive to the main street of Winter Park, but you have the feeling of being secluded in the mountains. And, there was no train noise which can be a problem in Winter Park.
The owners are super nice folks that live next door. They even accepted delivery of some flowers for us for Valentine's Day and brought them to the cabin. The booking process was so easy, and we simply paid when we arrived.
There is no washer/dryer or dishwasher. But, maybe we shouldn't worry about doing laundry...and how many dishes can two people really dirty. I don't really care to use a dishwasher anyway. And, neither of these should be a deal-breaker!!!
The price is right, and the cabin is perfect. I wouldn't consider shopping for another property should we ever return to Winter Park without the kids. This will be my first call.
The three of us used this cabin as our base camp for exploring the Rocky Mountain National Park. Our daughter slept on the sofa bed, which she found to be comfortable. Since we weren't at the cabin much during the day, we just left the bed pulled out, and that worked for us.
The cabin was just as described in this listing, very cute, with lots of thoughtful touches. There were some spices, coffees, and teas in the kitchen cabinets, not just the usual salt & pepper. There were nice soaps and lotions in the bathroom. The cabin was very clean and the bed was comfortable, with a firmish mattress. The wifi worked great, never a problem! Winter Park was a happening little place, with some kind of festival planned every weekend, lots of shops, restaurants, etc.
The hiking in the Park and in the nearby national forest was wonderful. Beautiful trails with gorgeous rivers, flowers, and views!
Thank you for the excellent place to stay!
This was the perfect little getaway cabin for may us and our two children ages 6 and 8. It was adorable, clean, comfortable, cozy, and well stocked with the added bonus of being surrounded by national forest! We all had a great time and were very happy with the accommodations...in fact, our son said he wanted to stay another 440 nights. We will be back again.
Charming! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this adorable, clean, quiet cabin. We were central to every activity and spent the day fishing at WP's stocked trout ponds. It is the perfect place to relax and had such a "homey" feel-thanks to the owner's wonderful hospitality and ALL the little thoughtful extras in the cabin - and so happy to have our pets join us! Thank you, and we will definitely be back and recommend your cabin to friends and family!
