Enjoy kayaking, striper fishing and the call of osprey from this beautiful year-round 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cape with deep water frontage located on an ocean inlet called the New Meadows River. The house has been completely renovated and has a new dock, large deck, screened porch, built-in bookcases, window seat, daylight basement with family room/office and gardens. The house is located on a dead-end road and has an open concept with kitchen, living, dining and full bathroom on the main floor. The main floor has southern pine floors and a cozy Vermont Castings stove. The upstairs has red birch floors with a large second bedroom, a master bedroom with private deck and en-suite bathroom with shower. The daylight basement features built-in bookcases and screened porch close to the water's edge. You will feel like you are away from it all, yet have the convenience of being just minutes from Brunswick and Historic Bath.
WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. THE OWNERS OF THIS HOME HAVE A GREAT EYE FOR DETAIL AND DIDN'T LEAVE YOU WANTING FOR ANYTHING.
MY HUSBAND, SON AND I LOVED THE PLACE. NEWLY RENOVATED WITH A BEAUTIFUL DOCK IN THEIR BACKYARD.
DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP. PICTURES DON'T DO ENOUGH! THE OUTSIDE LANDSCAPE AND MASTER SUITE ARE BEAUTIFUL. WE HOPE TO RETURN NEXT YEAR TOO!!!!
We had a very nice stay at this rental. First of all, the owner was lovely to deal with and the rental fee quite reasonable. The cottage is fresh and spotlessly clean. Upstairs are 2 very inviting and nicely decorated bedrooms with a modern bath. Plenty of linens and comfortable beds are provided. The main level is equally inviting and is well supplied with good cooking pans and utensils...nothing is scratched and dented. There is plenty of seating. The lower level has a sunny, nicely furnished tv room with a very comfortable sectional. The washer and dryer are modern and efficient. We used both the cool screen porch and the spacious deck. Eagles were seen every day from the deck as well as osprey. The water view is peaceful and the whole area surprisingly quiet. I have nothing negative to report about this rental and hope to return. The location is perfect and convenient to Rte 1 for any stores or supplies needed but the cottage feels miles away. We loved it.
My husband and I have been coming back yearly for a few years now and would not stay anywhere else. We are so comfortable here and every year there seems to be some new upgrades this year there is a new day bed on the main floor and a sectional sofa in the basement. We are close to many area activities but still fell secluded and peaceful. Views from the dock are amazing and 2 eagles are often seen in a tree not far off.
It was totally Awesome! You're home is beautiful and everything we needed was there. We loved hanging out on your dock and observing the wildlife. We went through many batteries for our camera. What a relaxing week.
Thank you for the updates and the notebook filled with more information that we could think to ask.:-)We so enjoyed the time in your home, wishing it could of been a month :-)
Thank you again,Sheryl
Home was comfortable, very clean, and well-organized. Decks and dock allowed for quiet morning coffee and evening wine while enjoying the beautiful view of river, birds, and boats. Conveniently located so day trips were easy - the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor is a must-see and one of our favorites. There was no end to dining out choices. We left with hopes of returning next year.
We had a wonderful time at the house. We have rented houses for 17+ years in Maine (with and without kids) and this is the first time we can say we would come back here again. The house was beautiful, updated and extremely clean. It had everything we could need, including WiFi, cable (not that we used it much) and cell service (we never have cell service so close to the water).
The view was amazing and relaxing. The kids loved laying on the hammock and playing in the yard. The home owners made you feel like you were at home and made it stress free.
It was easily accessible to Portland and points North (specifically Red's Eats in Wisscasset). Brunswick and Bath are both great small towns with nice Farmer's Markets and shops. It is also very close to a gas station, Shaw's and other bigger stores for any of those "I forgot to pack" moments.
Thank you for a wonderful experience hopefully we will see you again next year.
This home is located in West Bath, Maine- on the coast, north of Portland and Freeport and south of Bath.
