The natural beauty of this narrow barrier island will enchant you. The house is ideal for one or two families. The ocean is less than one block away and is warm and wonderful. The Currituck Sound side is fun for crabbing or wind surfing. There is a new pier on the sound about 200 feet from the house that is great for crabbing. You can walk, bicycle or drive the two miles to the charming village of Duck and browse the quaint shops and galleries.
The chalet-like great room sweeps across the width of the house and features a loft which is ideal for children to watch TV and play games. The home is comfortably furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. Bed linens and bath towels are provided. You will enjoy the (12' x 28') pool and the spa. You will feel immediately at home and ready to vacation. The screened porch nestled in the pine trees also provides a comfortable setting for relaxing and dinning. Marvel at the dramatic sunsets over the sound as you sit on the swing or in the hot tub with a cool drink at the end of the day.
The house was perfectly sized for our family with all the amenities. Great Hospitality I hope we put everything back where we got it. And the lobster bisque recipe above the stove was delish with the crabs we caught as a substitute for the lobster. Thanks
Believe what you read! This home is a wonderful, comfortable place to stay! It was very clean and well maintained. With plenty of rooms and outdoor decks, there was plenty of space to be alone while enjoying your vacation time. The kitchen was excellent-well supplied with everything you could possibly need to plan a vacation feast! The trees all around the property gave it fabulous privacy-very few homes have as much 'coverage' on their lots. We enjoyed every meal on the screened in porch. The pool was wonderful and clean. The outdoor shower was very roomy with seperate changing area and we loved the 'feet only' spray as well as the shower nozzle! The hammock swing got plenty of use with a wonderful view of the bay and sunset. The top viewing deck was terrific for splendid sunset shows. With a short walk to the beach and a nice walk into town, the location was perfect! Plenty of board games and movies also made our evenings enjoyable! Fresh seafood from Dockside 'N Duck and extras from Tommy's Market & Cafe supplied all of our meals for the week! Great service & knowledgable staff at Dockside can help you cook any seafood meal to perfection. Other than the normal traffic congestion coming in & out of Duck on 'rental days' our stay was absolutely perfect and we will definately consider 'Ducky Sunset' for our return visits to the Outer Banks.
The Outer Banks offer a natural beauty that is unsurpassed. Golfing, water sports, nature walks, fishing, shopping and dinning are terrific too. You will find a private beach access with that is only a short block away. With the Gulf Stream only 75 miles out into the Ocean, the water is generally warm. Our house is located in the Carolina Dunes area and is near one of the few sound beach access points. The house itself is surrounded by pine trees giving this house a unique character of a chalet in the trees but yet on the high rolling dunes of the area. Rental equipment for Kayaking, wind surfing, bicycles, rollerblading, etc. available in the town of Duck. Rent charter boats large or small.
Golf: Approximately 7 golf courses within a 30 mile radius.
Ski: Additional Guest comments from 8/25 to 9/1/2007
