About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Unique, rustic mountain cabin on the rapid, fish-stocked Toccoa River with a game room area in the basement level. Gorgeous mountain views and a serene porch overlooking the river. Path to a great fishing spot just below porches and visible from the porches. Views of the river from every room and wonderful gurgling sounds of the river audible from all bedrooms.

The tin roof provides an awesome experience in rainy or snowy weather. Great close by hiking trails along the Appalachian Trail and numerous waterfalls in the area. A great place to just relax and rock on the porches after a day of touring the antique shops in the neighboring towns and Blue Ridge or a train ride through the mountains to and from Tennessee. All this with the modern conveniences of home-satellite TV as well as DVD, VCR,CD player and wifi. A place you never want to leave behind and will want to plan a return trip to our little piece of heaven!

Awesome scenery, relaxing river sounds.

Cabin is like home that sits on the river. The most relaxing place ever, sounds of the river all day and night. Comfy beds, great fishing right out the back door, lots of fire wood for cold nights. We can't wait to go back, best of blue ridge!

I took in a deep breath, and relaxed!

OMG! I just rented a piece of heaven! What a delightful cottage in a wonderful setting! The weather was just at freezing when we arrived, but our host was so kind as to have already turned on the heat to give us a welcome! The wood burning stove actually made the cottage hot! I could not believe it, but it's true! What a cozy, cuddle-inspiring place we enjoyed! The river is right below the deck so, with the door open, we could hear the gurgling sounds ...sweet! The entire area is gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed just driving around and finding neat places to stop. GORGEOUS sunsets! I certainly would not recommend trying to find this in the dark though, so make sure your arrival is in the light of day! Everything was there that i needed. I cooked several meals and wanted for nothing. I, unfortunately, did not see the bathroom floor heater until the 2nd day, so my first shower was a bit chilly ... HA HA! I loved every odd and end that filled this wonderful cabin. The decor is delightfully rustic and entertaining. THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the work and time you put in to insuring your guests truly can relax and enjoy their down time!

Want to make great memories with your family then this is the place to make it happen.

My family truly enjoyed our stay here during the week of New Years. The sounds of the river were very relaxing and peaceful. We got some bird seed and corn and loaded the bird and squirrel feeders and the birds and squirrels had a time and it was fun to watch them from the cabin window on the cool mornings as a nice warm toasty fire kept the cabin comfortable in the wood burning stove. This cabin has such nostalgia and reminded me of times spent with my family when I was a kid. The owners are very nice and super hospitable. This cabin will definitely be documented as a favorite of ours as we would love to stay here again in the future. Thanks so much to the owners for sharing their lovely cabin with us. We wish you all the best in 2016 !!

Cabin on the River

  • 5 of 5

My family really, really enjoyed our Thanksgiving week at the cabin. Everything was even better than we imagined..awesome cabin, beautiful mountains, and fabulous river! The cabin was well-stocked with everything we needed. The sound of the river was very relaxing..whether falling asleep to it, or waking up to it. The Priest's were very nice and easy to work with; quick response times to any and every question we had. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Loved this place as well as the owners!

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's first time visiting the North Georgia mountains as we usually travel on up to the Smoky Mountains. We decided on the Blue Ridge area this time and started investigating places to stay. This cabin seemed quite affordable, and the pictures posted above looked incredible. We contacted the owners and arranged to stay in their cabin in early October. Due to a family medical emergency, I had to contact the owners again and tell them we would not be able to make it for the days reserved. They seemed genuinely concerned for my family and not just how it would affect their rental calendar. They were extremely caring and were willing to work with us on a better time to visit. This was such a blessing to me and my family, and we were able to work out a later date. The Priest Cabin was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway! The river view was even more beautiful than in the pictures! We loved just sitting and listening to the rush of the river with no other noise than the local wildlife. It was pretty cold and drizzly the first few day of our stay, but the cabin kept us nice and toasty. We were fine just using the heaters even though the wood burning stove looked quite efficient. We loved the décor inside, and it reminded us of exactly what it was, a mountain cabin! The TV's and internet worked great, and we had no problem with cell reception on the porch. The basement bedroom and bathroom were also nice and didn't make you feel as if you were in a basement. We all commented on how comfortable the living room couch and love seat were, and I believe we all took an evening nap there at one time or another. Overall, this was a great, comfortable, relaxing place to stay that gave you that mountain feel we all want to experience. The upper porch view alone was worth the stay! This cabin is a little ways out from central Blue Ridge, but in the end I believe that is what adds to its charm. The ride out from town was quite scenic and picturesque, with the last few miles to the cabin being the best of all! In the midst of the awesome mountain views, we saw all kinds of wildlife in their natural elements. What fun we had every day driving around exploring the area and them coming home to a lovely place to relax and unwind. I am so glad we visited the Blue Ridge area this year, and that God led us to the Priest family. We are so grateful that they shared their awesome cabin with us. We would love to visit again!

Had an excellant stay in the Priest Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family consisting of 2 adults, 3 kids-17, 14 and 7, stayed for 5 days in the cabin late October. This was our first trip to the Blue Ridge area and we fell in love with it! We've stayed in other areas throughout the mountains and enjoyed them but we fell in love with this cabin and Blue Ridge for the peace of the area. The cabin was very spacious and fit our needs perfectly. It had everything we needed, plenty of books and games to keep the kids occupied. The river being right out the door was breathtaking. Hubby and kids enjoyed fishing and just walking by the river. We enjoyed several hikes in the local area and loved the swinging bridge. Our family definitely plans on coming back!

Additional activities include birdwatching from the two front porches and viewing of the abundant wildlife. Also enjoy tubing on the river or visiting one of the many nearby waterfalls. There are many trailheads for the infamous Appalachian Trail nearby (the closest is a 2 mile hike from the cabin), among other trails and rural mountain roads to traverse.

Historic downtown Blue Ridge makes for a fun activity filled with shops and restaurants (and even it's own brewery!). Or relax in front of the fire-burining stove or on the idyllic front porch with a good book and enjoy our piece of heaven!
