Creekside Cabins Sleep 5 In Private Redwood Forest
About Stephanie Buckley
I'm a finance professional born and raised in Southern California, now loving life in the Northern California redwoods. I've always loved exploring new places, especially interacting with locals and experiencing new cultures through their food. Happily-married fur mama to 3 cute rescue dogs, no kids. Interests and hobbies include wine, history, genealogy, and travel.

Why Stephanie Buckley chose Fieldbrook
A gorgeous, quiet, redwood retreat. Overhead redwood trees have been limbed to create a canopy. Stars are visible at night (when clear), and the forest is otherwise quiet with birdsong and the sound of running water (when creek/waterfall are running; dry during summer). If you're looking for some peace and quiet, beauty, and to be amongst old redwood trees, this is it. Whether you want to meditate, write or read a book, create an album, or forge your own trail and stomp the woods. Hikes, beach, forest, rivers, adventure and natural beauty await you in a setting with the cleanest air, purest water, (and no biting bugs!). We are in a quiet yet convenient location. Nestled in a private redwood grove alongside a seasonal creek with many flowers, fruit trees and berry bushes, you can enjoy the outdoors all around you. During the summer it’s cool, and in the winter/spring it’s rainy which is when the creek shares with us its 2 waterfalls. **The Space** We have 10 acres of private redwood forest land, so you will get to enjoy nature in all its glory. Enjoy the silence (with minimal to no biting bugs!), take a hike in the woods, watch the butterflies, go to the beach, or gaze at the stars. On a clear day, hike to the top of the ridge up our own private trail and see views of the ocean. During a clear summer night, if there isn't any famous Humboldt fog, we can see the Milky Way, Venus, Polaris, and all the stars the cities miss out on (bring your binoculars or travel telescope!). Our Rustic Cabin has a sleeping loft under a skylight (accessed by an affixed interior ladder), with a brand new queen mattress and topper. Adjacent Sleeping Cabin has a brand new Casper queen mattress. We provide clean sheets, pillows/pillowcases, and blankets. In addition to the propane flip-switch fireplace heater, there’s also a separate electric radiating space-heater for extra warmth as desired. Though it never gets “hot” here, there’s also an overhead ceiling fan for air circulation.
What makes this Cabin unique
In the cozy living room area, we have a cushioned banquette with snuggly pillows, a blanket, and sleeping bag. The main couch/living space that also accommodates a 5th sleeper, it's surrounded by windows for never-ending views of the trees. There's also a 32" HD Flat Screen TV and DVD player (no cable/satellite channels) for watching movies. We have a selection of DVD’s you can view, or bring along your favorites. There is also a guitar and tambourine for musical guests to enjoy, and assorted games. The kitchenette has a drop-leaf table with 2 cushioned chairs for meals/games (pull it to the banquette for additional mealtime seating), a brand new mini fridge/freezer, microwave, Keurig with assorted coffee/decaf, tea, and hot chocolate, Stevia natural sweetener, silverware, dishes, cups, mugs, wine glasses, a knife block, bottle opener/corkscrew, plus complimentary water bottles, wine and beer. The nearest store (Fieldbrook Market) is at the bottom of the hill, about a 7 minute drive away. Enjoy your meals at the drop-leaf table surrounded by windows all around, affording picturesque views of the redwoods. Our property’s natural spring water from the very source of the creek couldn’t be any more fresh and pure. It’s also treated by a triple-filtered (ozone, UV, & carbon) water system. (City folks will love that it doesn't smell like chlorine, leave any water spots on glassware, and makes your skin and hair soft). There's also a reverse-osmosis drinking water system at the kitchen sink. The detached modern Bath House (with motion-sensing access lights for convenience at all hours) has electric lighting, a curtained full bathtub/shower (affording beautiful views through the head-height windows!), pedestal sink, mirrored cabinet, and a Santerra Green Envirolet, which is a waterless, self-contained electric composting toilet. For proper function of this type of toilet, you must put your used toilet paper in the trash.

Your lucky if you found this place...
It was so wonderful that it was really hard to leave. I would highly recommend the stay here if your ok with a remote cabin in the woods with little to no wifi. For us, it was just what we needed. Reconnect with relationships & nature here! Its not like you can't go to town and get on wifi and so many hikes and beaches to go and see. Great location. We stayed 3 nights and it wasn't long enough. Thank you for this treasure.
We had a fantastic time staying in these cabins in the woods. Originally when I was looking for a home base for our Redwoods adventure I looked at beach properties. But then I decided, if we are going to the Redwoods, why wouldn't we stay in the Redwoods? It was an excellent decision. These cabins are going to be something we remember forever. They are quaint, clean, and very isolated. Except for backpacking, I can't ever remember hearing such perfect silence. The sound of crickets put us to sleep each night, but that was all we heard. No traffic, no people. I don't think I've slept that well in years! We didn't do any cooking here, and I think cooking would actually be quite challenging. We did enjoy the snacks and drinks provided(the wine and cider were excellent!), and there is an amazing restaurant right down the road (the Fieldbrook Eatery) with farm fresh food. Best hamburger I've ever had! With our busy day touring the Redwoods, coming back to our little cabin was just a perfect way to end our night. We popped corn and watched a movie together. It was really special!
glamping at its finest
appreciate the owners sharing this unique experience with others.
Cabins and views are great. Loft was perfect for teenage, not sure if I would have felt safe up there. Definitely needs to be sprayed for spiders. Every cup and bowl had one waiting to saying hello. Hot plate seamed to short out once and awhile. The bench seat was great for relaxing, reading and sitting. I know space is limited but with some rearranging maybe add a comfy chair or love seat. Sleeping cabin was awesome. Loved having a mini fridge and coffee so we didn’t have to wake the kiddos. Bath cabin was awesome. I loved the view. However it too needed to be sprayed for spiders. I counted ten webs with spiders in them on the ceiling seams (where it meets the wall). Location was perfect for everything we planned to do. Road going to cabin was just like home. We did have a problem with one local but the police and tow company were fast and very nice.
We hope to rent again in the future.
Amazing place in the forest!
Definitely the most unique VRBO we’ve stayed at. Beautiful spot in the forest but very close to town and local sights. The owners were very helpful and we had an amazing time. Highly recommended!!!
We enjoyed staying at the place.
It was one of the best places we have ever stayed.

If you're lucky enough to be greeted by our neighbor's friendly terrier mix, Lucy, she's friendly and loves to play fetch but will eventually go back home.
Our cozy and clean Rustic Cabin has a sleeping loft under a skylight (accessed by an affixed interior ladder), so you can fall asleep under the stars. The adjacent Sleeping Cabin is elevated, so you can view the creek and waterfalls directly from bed as you fall asleep.
