About David Workman
I am the father of two amazing teenage girls. And a business owner who runs the popular Flat Rock Village Bakery. A destination dining spot for its amazing baked goods and wood-fired pizzas. Currently my girls and I live in Asheville, NC. where we enjoy all that this small, vibrant city has to offer. I am also an avid trail runner who enjoys hitting the trails with my dog daily.
David Workman purchased this House in 2014
Why David Workman chose Hendersonville
I bought this house because of its rustic features and because of its amazing quiet and private setting next to Dupont State forest. I have been in love with Dupont since I first moved to Hendersonville 20 years ago. So I was thrilled when I found this cabin for sale almost 4 years ago. While living in this house I would run the famous Dupont single track trails everyday. Due to live changes I moved to Asheville last year, but I wanted to keep this house and use it as a vacation rental so my guests could enjoy the peace, quiet, and rustic charm that it has to offer.
What makes this House unique
Guests will enjoy the large deck to relax and breathe in the mountain air. They will also love sitting inside on a cold days in the comfortable living room by the wood stove. And if they want some outdoor adventure, they can easily walk or bike into Dupont State Forest from the house. Where they can enjoy the 10,000 plus acre forest with famous waterfalls, singe track trails, and lakes to swim in.

Property was a fantastic location, about halfway between Hendersonville and Brevard. Sits within minutes of several trailheads for mountain biking in Dupont Forest. Lots of room inside, easy to get cozy. Caretaker in bottom apartment is extremely helpful and friendly.
Epic Mountain Bike Stay
This is a fabulous property perfect for anyone coming to barren ranch for any event. We went for a mountain bike festival. The location was perfect- close to the event yet private. It is very safe- we left our bikes out under the porch every night. Home was clean and spacious. The wrap around deck and covered porch were lovely. They even had a hose out to rinse off our bikes.
David was great to work with and allowed us to heck out late which meant we could shower after our morning ride and not offend anyone on the flight home with our scent!
Would stay here again in a heartbeat- bikers- you will love it!
Everything was great with this cabin. Nothing was broken and was very clean. The caretaker was very friendly and offered his help on anything we might need.
Mountain Bike Paradise!
We had a great time staying in this luxurious "cabin" for a week and riding our bikes right from the house into Dupont Forest. Arrived to the kind caretaker, Steve, stoking the wood stove and we settled right in. Cell service is spotty but the wifi was good, and besides, who needs to take calls on vacation anyways? Would definitely come back.
Thanks Gordon! I am glad you guys had fun and took advantage of the incredible mountain biking right out the door. I hope you can come back again!
