Hi Tom,

We had a wonderful week up in Newfound. The updates you have made to the cottage are really nice.

This house was so much more than we anticipated it to be. It was spacious and cozy! There were a lot more sleeping spaces than I anticipated and the rooms were a very good size. Not to mention the hardwood floors upstairs were gorgeous!!! Although this property was not directly on the lake it was so close! We loved that the house was nestled into a wooded community so even though there were houses around you felt secluded. Also a plus were the two full bathrooms! That made early mornings with 8 people a breeze! Very good location! Highly recommend!

Simply amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was more beautiful inside and out than what the pictures show! It was immaculate, quite and felt like home. The owner, Tom, was nothing but helpful, resourceful and personable. The price, which was already beyond reasonable, was well worth it!! I stayed with my husband and our two kids, 2 & 4, and a few friends with another 2 yr old and we old loved it!! All in all, from booking, to writing this review, was enjoyable and easy. We will definitely be planning another amazing and peaceful getaway again and again at the house!!

Great quick get away place to enjoy with family

  • 4 of 5

Where do i start. My family and dogs had so much fun and wished we could have stayed a little longer. Although the place is not waterfront, we enjoyed our walks and or drive to the lake everyday. Besides the lake, the property is about 15 minutes away (driving) from "The Sculptured Rocks". We would spend our mornings at this area, then finish our day at the lake. The house has enough spacious rooms, nice front yard, fire pit, and is equipped with wifi and 2 TVs; enough to keep the young ones entertained with their gadgets. Neighborhood is very quite and people are very pleasant to talk to. I would definitely consider going back.

Enjoyed our stay at Newfound Lake

  • 4 of 5

The owner Tom was very easy to speak with and provided me with all the information I needed about his rental home. The home was clean and comfortable and was supplied with all the essentials of pots/pans, coffee maker, glasses and dish ware. The only advice I have for those renting, be sure to separate recyclables and garbage. There should be 3 bins in the home- garbage, glass, and paper/plastic. Its not hard to go to the dump, but you are required to separate the items yourself. By car, the home is near Wellington State park which has a very clean lake, the Polar Caves, Sculptured Rocks and many hiking trails. We enjoyed our time. Thank you again!

A nice place to get away, plenty of room.2tvs wifi

  • 5 of 5

A nice quit place to get away.

All the neighbors are owners,so its very quite.

A short walk down the hill and across a street, and you can swim all by yourself.

Nobody else uses the spot.

Its rocky so bring flip flops or beach shoes.

But it is shallow for 75 yards, which is nice if you have little ones, but we had a blast and my kids are older.

Its a 4 minute walk.

There is plenty of room for a large group.

A master bedroom on the main floor with a really nice bathroom across the hall.

2 bedrooms upstairs with 2 twin beds in each room.

And a downstairs couch bed with its own bathroom, and tv and sliding door entrance.

You could fit two more on the couches on the main floor also.

Nice open floorplan on the main floor with kitchen and living room together.

A huge flatscreen with cable.

The AC is also nice .

A nice firepit out back with plenty of wood.

And a huge deck off the main floor in the back for eating outside, with a gas grill.

Don't forget to bring your own bedsheets and towels,as is clearly stated in the description.

A washer and dryer are also there, which is very handy.

Don't miss going to "Sculptured Rocks" falls.

It is in Rumney,N.H. which is a 15 minute ride, and is 30 feet off of the road,it is even accessible for someone in a wheelchair.

There is a 15 foot jump into a 20 foot deep natural pool that is an experience you will never forget.

I don't jump unless its safe like this one,and I am 6 2 and 220 and I didn't come close to the bottom.

And "Profile Falls" is south of Bristol on 3A

Its a 10 minute walk to a 40 foot high and 35 yard wide waterfall.

Its nice for swimming, but I saw people jumping, and it is not a safe jump at all.

All in all it is great place at a very reasonable price.

Thanks again Tom

The area was great and the location of the property was semi-secluded which was nice. However, the "beach" that accompanied the property was not at all what was shown or described in the listing. It was quite a ways from the property, you have to go through other peoples' yard to get to it, it is very small and covered by trees, and the water is all rocks, not sandy at all. We were very disappointed. As far as the property itself, you are responsible for trash removal (which you have to pay for or take home with you), the closets, cupboards, fridge, freezer, and drawers were filled with clothes and food already, so there was no room to unpack your own stuff. Bring lots of bug spray!! Lastly, the owner called the night before we were to leave and told us to be out earlier than we were supposed to be able to stay until.

Owner's Response: We have parking a few houses away from our association beach area and there is a path called Grasshopper Lane which is clearly explained in our welcome package to follow as you stroll past 3 cottages to the beach. The beach area does have small stones at times along the shore edge and for toddlers water shoes would make it more enjoyable. But this 5 foot area after you just enter the water you will find a completely sandy bottom beach, weed-free and the water is crystal clear and perfect to swim. The water stays very shallow for another 50 feet before the water level goes above your knees, so young children are in a very safe environment and in the summer the water temperature is in the high 70s to low 80s because of the shallow water and sandy water bottom. To address the fact that there was clothing in the drawers, was only brought to my attention after some communication and apparently the family that stayed the prior week did forget their clothing in the master bedroom. Since we have guests that arrive on a weekly basis from Saturday-Saturday we only have a short window to have the property thoroughly cleaned and sanitized for the next visitors. We do ask that the guests leave on Saturday at 10am and the next group is welcome to arrive at 2pm. This allows a few hours for the cleaning team to make sure everything is fully sanitized so the next group can enjoy their stay. In regards to the trash situation, we don't have curbside pick up for trash and we do ask our guests to take rubbish to the dump which is open Friday-Sunday and we issue through the town of Bridgewater dump passes and they do recycle. Since we are in the mountains and lake regions, the town of Bridgewater does not have curbside trash pickup since bears and other wild animals would be coming to the trash bins for their food. We have been renting this property out for the last 10 years and the majority of our guests appear to be leaving 5 star reviews and if possible if there is any problems we can be reached immediately and we have local property management that can address any immediate needs with the home and as the owner I can be reached by cell phone because I know how special a vacation can be and if something is a miss I will do my best to try to resolve an issue.
