Sedona AZ: Nestled amongst dramatic crimson towers of sandstone, Sedona, Arizona provides a stunning sanctuary for outdoor adventures and secluded retreats. Sedona's natural beauty is evident in its compelling surroundings, but Sedona's beauty is more than skin deep. Rich with diverse cultural events, spiritual energy, cozy bed and breakfasts, world-class resorts and spas, golf with unparalleled views, eclectic art galleries and exquisite cuisine, it is no wonder that Sedona, Arizona draws nearly 4 millions tourists each year. We are near Sedona but out side the city limits.
Sedona Geography: Situated at the base of Mogollon Rim, a geologically dominating structure of limestone, mudstone and sandstone, Sedona is engulfed by extraordinary monoliths resembling distinctive objects that bear their name. There's Cathedral Rock, Coffee Pot, Bell and Snoopy to name a few. Coffee Pot Rock marks the tallest point in Sedona at 5600 feet, although the town itself is elevated at 4500 feet. Sedona's high desert climate is generally mild year round. The average high is just under 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average low is 45. It is this mild four-season environment that draws visitors year-round to Sedona.
Getting to Sedona from Phoenix: Travel to Sedona is easy via a scenic 90 minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport that serves all major airlines. Or visitors can hop a small plane into Flagstaff's Pulliam Airport which accepts private commuter planes and is situated about 30 minutes away. Sedona also has an airport perched atop a scenic mesa with incomparable views open to smaller private planes. However, getting to Sedona is half the fun and the short drive from Phoenix is well worth the trip. As you come around the bend in the road and spot your first glimpse of the extraordinary Red Rocks your jaw will drop and you'll know why such a small town can make such a big impression.

About Red Rock Jon
My wife and I grew up in Michigan and graduated from MSU. I also graduated from University of Southern California. I taught high school science for the USA DoD in Germany. I taught engineering at MSU. During my army career and my executive engineering position at Motorola my wife and I were able to travel the world and experience many cultures and environments. Thee experiences give us a clear insight into what should be provided to guests at our establishment.
Red Rock Jon purchased this House in 1992
Why Red Rock Jon chose Sedona
We wanted a vacation home in a world class area that was within driving distance from Phoenix. Sedona AZ was our choice. We purchased The Red Rock Escape because it is with-in walking distance to uptown where we can shop, people watch, go to restaurants, and have as many drinks as we want and not have to worry about driving home! We also wanted a guest house so we could have the versatility of me and my wife staying in it while my relatives stayed on the big house or if a single relative or a couple want to visit we would have a place for them to stay. We also wanted a place big enough to spread out and have some privacy and have some views. We do not realize how good the views are until we visit other homes that claim they have awesome views if you stand on the corner of their property.
What makes this House unique

If someone wants to take the car and others want to stay behind they will find plenty to do in Uptown Sedona. More flexibility for everyone! Great location, great interactions with owners, some quirky things in house, house comfy with lots o
Well located near uptown Sedona. Easy drive to trail heads. Great kitchen and dining facilities. Small guest house in which two of us stayed was very comfortable. Quirky things. Lighting not obvious. Washing machine seemed to turn off and reset. Leaky taps
. Needs a little more maintenance but otherwise a great place to stay.
Perfect Sedona Experience
Jon's place was outstanding! My four friends and I rented the place for my Bachelorette trip. We each had our own bed and more than enough space to spread out. The house was very clean, the views were beautiful, and I felt more than at home. He was very responsive and the caretakers were available to speak to whenever necessary. I was very pleased with the location. We didn't get much of an opportunity to walk around, but anything we needed and wanted to do was close in proximity. Jon put me in contact with a wonderful tour guide for a trip to the Grand Canyon as well. Overall, we had an outstanding stay. 10 out of 10 would stay here again! Thanks a ton, Jon!
My name is Tina Reichow, and I am the Tour Guide that the four friends shared the
Grand Canyon with. We all had a First Class Blast that day and they were lovely. The girls also raved more than once about Red Rock Escape and how much it suited their needs. They really did feel right at home and were content.
I know this property and its owner quite well, and would recommend a stay there,
with its red rock views and quiet neighborhoods.
Lots of Potential but Needs a Deep Cleaning
The location was great - very close to 'uptown' and the views were as advertised --- breath-taking. But its dirty. Dust, cobwebs, dried food spills in the refrigerator and useless junk in odd places spoiled the house for us. Hire a cleaning service, clean out the closets, scrub down the appliances and change the curtains. Since we were only there three nights, the group didn't want to complain and have our stay interrupted. We quickly learned not to look behind anything and to leave the lights on low. On the plus side, the owner was easy to work with and had very specific instructions about how everything worked.
All about location!
Location was great but the house could use some updating. The cleaning crew could do a better job as well - there were multiple light bulbs out and trash still left behind by the prior guests.
Thanks for staying at our property and the fed back,We are making updates to the house this weekend with new flooring throughout, new wood blinds, and some new doors. we are having a patio installed for the guest house front and side yard.
We apologies for any issues with the cleaning crew , one of them has been hospitalized with serious illness. Prayers Please. I will call you to find out the specifics.
Thanks again and happy travels.
Great Location & Set-up for Family/Group
Loved the location just 1/2 mile from downtown Sedona. Guest house was an added bonus. Loved the fireplace & hot tub as it cooled down at night while we were there. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, along with plenty of paper products & cleaning supplies. We ate most meals at the house, so everything was much appreciated! We had a great week seeing sunrises & sunsets, while also hiking every day!
Perfect for family gathering in Sedona
Great location, and lots of space for several couples to stay in the house. We enjoyed being able to walk downtown to grab coffee or do some shopping, and the house has a full kitchen so we could cook our on meals on some nights. The house is also nearby several trail heads and the Heritage museum. Jon provided really helpful information and has timely with all communications. Would definitely recommend this place for others visiting Sedona and hope to be back!
