About Martine Corbut
We are old city-dwellers (from Lille and working in Paris for 3 years). We settled in Upper Normandy, in Forges-les-Eaux to combine the gentle pleasures of life in a rural village with its proximity to the city. Rouen, Paris, Amiens, and Lille are all reachable.

Beautiful Lake House
We only stayed in this lovely house overlooking the lake for one night as a stop over on the way back to Calais, which is only 2 hours easy drive from here. We wished we could have stayed longer. The house has been very thoughtfully set out and included bed linen and towels even for one night. Martine has obviously spent a lot of time and effort on this lovely house. We had a great walk around the lakes and through the woods with our dogs and there looked like a lot more to explore. The large garden is totally enclosed and there is a fantastic covered outside dining and seating area. We would like to go back when we have more time. It would make a perfect weekend retreat. Ps the laughing ducks were very funny in the morning 😂🦆🦆🦆
Nice relaxing week away
Fantastic communications with owner, very accommodating providing high chair, travel cot etc.
Really nice house, immaculate condition, everything you need in the kitchen and comfortable lounge area. Only downside for us was the bedrooms are immediately off the lounge, but that's ok if you're outside in the summer until late.
Lovely garden front and back, very quite and relaxing in the sunshine.
Access straight on to lake paths.
Would recommend to friends.

The beautiful city of Rouen in 35 minutes, beaches in 45 minutes, magnificent villages in 30 minutes.

La Maison du Lac is located in the heart of the listed tourist resort of Forges-les-Eaux, less than 500 m away from Domaine de Forges, sports and leisure activities, a spa, Grand casino, the indoor pool, Bois de l'Epinay, and the lakes of Andelle and Chevrette. The house is also located at the foot of the Avenue Verte, considered one of the best-fitted routes in the Grand-Ouest area reserved for soft traffic). The Avenue Verte will allow you to hike on foot, bike, wheelchair, and roller skate, safely and free of charge (motor vehicles are not allowed), along the 45 kilometres separating Forges-les-Eaux from Arques-la-Bataille, at the gates of Dieppe. This is a traditional Normandy village. The authentic tourist resort of Forges-les-Eaux is located 110 km northwest of Paris and 45 km west of Rouen, in the heart of Pays de Bray. It has been listed as a Station Verte, one of the Plus Beaux Détours de France, and a 3-flower Ville Fleurie. Forges-les-Eaux is a prime holiday destination. Famille-Plus labelled, the city offers many activities and events in season and out of season: baby club, Avenue Verte, donkey rides, Forges Beach, miniature horses, fishing, horse riding, tasting, visits to the vegetable maze farm, hot-air balloon, pools, and much more. Every summer, there is a specific program for the family designed by the tourist office. The rich cultural program of the Forges-les-Eaux area attracts many visitors to the city due to its shows and concerts. It is also well known for its majestic casino, and the commune offers the setting for many entertainment events such as, the International Festival of Young Magicians (March), carriage driving competitions and the Nature Festival (May), the Viking Festival and the Marathon of Brayon terroir (June), the Puppet Festival, The Festival of the Andelle (July), the Horse Festival (July), dancing at lakes and the Melon Fair (August) the Brévière Festival and the Cider Festival (October), and the Christmas market (December).
