Excellent place, definitely recommend when looking for a seaside vacation
Clean, cool, spacious and steps from the sea. And with Roberto and Maura to assist this is a great place to stay when looking for a break by the sea in El Slavador
Heaven & Earth Collide!
I've stayed in a lot of beach homes around the world and El Jacalito is definitely in my top 3! I was leading a mission trip team of 9 people to San Salvador for 10 days and we wanted to rent a beach home to spend our last 3 days at the end of our trip to celebrate what we'd accomplished and to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of the sun, surf and palm trees, all in the comfort of a nice home. This house and property fulfilled our every need and more!
We needed 9 individual beds...there are 12 in the 5 spacious rooms. We wanted a friendly staff to take care of cooking...watch out...Maura is a phenomenal cook and she and her husband will kill you with their kindness! :) The kitchen is so perfect for everything you need and the outdoor, covered living/dining space doesn't get much better! Step out into the pool area and you feel like your at a 5 star resort. You can sip on hot coffee in the mornings while swinging in the hammocks that surround the beachside gazebo. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning and las olas (the waves) are non-stop.
Organizing the rental with an american owner (Carol) made things so much easier and smooth. She has a great heart and offers up lots of advice for enjoying all the area has to offer. The other great feature is that it's a quick and easy ride from the airport at about 40 mins. So it makes arrival and departure a breeze.
If you want to totally unplug, and disconnect from the noisy fast paced life that we are so used to, I highly recommend El Jacalito. This is my new go-to home for El Salvador and all of my mission trip teams!
Perfect location and beautiful view
We stayed at Jacalito for the second time for a family reunion and it was amazing. The house is so nice and comfortable. The staff is courteous and friendly and the grounds are well kept. I would definitely stay there for a third time.
The only sounds are the constant waves and the occasional rooster
I stayed at El Jacalito with four friends for the most relaxing, enjoyable two week vacation of my well traveled life. This home is so spacious and comfortable with so many areas to congregate, dine, rest and chat that one feels to have an entire private resort at one's disposal. I loved the kitchen for staging buffet meals, appetizer spreads and quick meals on an impulse. Everything you need is there including candles for atmosphere and many seating options for couples or groups to enjoy. Without the distraction of TV and the internet, I found that we all talked to each other a lot and solved most of the world's problems, created all sorts of DIY craft projects and told adventure stories to each other that were nearly forgotten with our usual busy lives. We relaxed in the pool, the warm ocean and had rounds and rounds of splendid massage from the very kind caretaker who has magical hands. I would recommend a candlelight massage on the top of the the cabana with breezes blowing. Bring your favorite cream or lotion for an unforgettable experience.
This is a very family friendly house with plenty of space for everyone. The caretakers are very competent and respectful of your peace and quiet but they are certainly available for any assistance or suggestions that you might need. I will return to this wonderful piece of paradise by the ocean, it would be hard to resist go again, I am making plans already.
Spectacular, fabulous, wonderful vacation
This vacation was magnificent. The beach is long and wide; the sand is soft; the water is crystal clear in December, the waves are just right, and the shells are varied and plentiful. The beach is not commercialized at all. There are private homes nestled behind palm trees, but there are no developments, and the beach is wide open for people to walk for miles. The hammocks in the gazebo are shaded by the palm trees, and the pool is just beside you as you look at the beach only footsteps away. The caretakers are kind and do their work well; Maura is a very good cook. The indoor/outdoor house is perfect for the beach: there is no wall separating the kitchen, dining room, and large living area from the view of the pool, palm trees, and beach beyond. The floor and furniture are made of materials that are not damaged by sandy feet and wet bathing suits. The bedrooms are comfortable, clean, and attractive, and there are plenty of bathrooms. We loved it. You are sure to love it, too.
Fundacion Corazon Del Padre
My family and I have stayed at El Jacelito twice and hope to stay again sometime soon! The accomodations are prefectly maintained and well decorated. It is secure and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful! We stayed there as a family with 2 friends and aslo with an nternation Missions Team and were very blessed by the home owner who helped us to plan our stay. We have stayed at several beach homes in El Salvador and this one is by far the best - especially for a family with small children or for larger group.
