All other area attractions such as Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, Racoon Mountain Chattanooga Overlook, Point Park, Cravens House, Incline Railway, Rock City Gardens, Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, Tennessee River park, Prentice Cooper State Forest, Chickamauga Battlefield and the Chickamauga Dam are between 5 to 10 miles from the house.
If it's high adventure you're looking for, less than an hours drive north in the Cumberland Plateau, is Savage Gulf State Natural Area and Fall Creek Falls State Park. These are two of the top state parks in East Tennessee, offering thousands of acres of rugged nature trails and rock climbing. If it's a more family oriented atmosphere you're looking for with more tame nature trails, playgrounds and lakes for swimming and kayaking then look towards Chester Frost Park and Harrison Bay State Park. Soddy Lake Fishing Pier is also a great place to spend the day or evening and bring dinner home ;-)
White Oak Park and White Oak Dog Park are located in the same area, just 1.7 miles from the house. These two parks offer enclosed dog areas for our hairy friends, large open grassy fields with complete playgrounds for the kids, covered pic-nic areas with BBQ grills and soccer nets. Bring your football, Frisbee or baseball bat and glove because this park is HUGE. Stringers Ridge Park offers an overlook of Chattanooga and is great for miles of biking, hiking, nature walking and jogging and is just 2 miles away.
Whatever your interests are, from craft beer to watching the fall colors to kayaking to art and museums or nature trails or to just relax, it's all here. Chattanooga is one of the fastest growing cities in America. The Chattanooga Airport (CHA) is 7 miles from the house with rental cars located inside.
