About The Owner

Rick is a Mechanical Engineer and Karen is a Realtor. We love antique/classic cars and currently have a '56 Chevy Belair Convertible and a '56 Ford Crown Vic. Karen's favorite things to do are antiquing and hosting Tea parties in our home. We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren, 4 boys and 1 girl, ages 7-20. We also have a very much loved and spoiled Brussels Griffon, age 2, who does not know that he is a dog. His name is Griffin.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2001

Why The Owner chose Tennessee

In the late 90's we started coming to Pigeon Forge to participate in the classic car shows. We both loved the area, especially the mountains, so we decided we had to buy a home there. We searched for a week looking at properties all around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. But, as soon as we walked into this home, we knew it was the one we had to have. It just felt like home to us. We love the location, being so close to all the attractions but at the end of a very quiet street. It gives us a quiet place to return to after exhausting ourselves from shopping, Dollywood, the Aquarium, more shopping, walking, well you get the picture. Not to mention the restaurants.

What makes this cottage unique

At our home you will enjoy a community swimming pool, taking the dog for a walk around the neighborhood (no hills to climb here), reading the newspaper on the deck or, relaxing in the hot tub.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just a quick note to let you know how happy we are that we found your Pigeon Forge rental on VRBO. We are having an awesome stay in your lovely home which is tastefully decorated. Thank you for sharing it with others and also catering to those of us who travel with "fur children." We would not hesitate to recommend your rental home to others and, if we come back this way again, will definitely rent from you.

Perfect house and Location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here two weeks ago for our biannual girls weekend. This house is adorable, cozy and well equipped. It truly had everything we needed to make our weekend relaxing. The only feedback I have is that the sliding glass door needs a cover like a curtain or something to use for nighttime. This house was amazing otherwise and awesome because it's so close the strip (5 minute drive) get to where you want but far enough that it's peaceful! We definitely want to stay again!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. We just had the sliding door installed in the Fall and know we need to put something there, but don't want curtains or blinds as that might impede using the chairs near the door. But, we will come up with something. Thank you for the suggestion.

  • 4 of 5

This was a lovely clean home. It was close to everything but still in a quite neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again. Our only issue was there was not enough warm water.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. So sorry about the hot water. This has happened a couple of times and each time, someone had turned down the temperature on the hot water heater. We are addressing the issue. Thanks again.

Would recommend

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic, clean, homey, inviting is just a few words that describe this place. We had a wonderful time staying there. It was just like being at home. We know why they call it "Home Away from Home". Away from all the noise, yet close enough to everything. We didn't have to drive but a very short distance to any where we wanted to go. Would recommend this house for anyone planning a trip to Pigeon Forge.

Loved This Place

  • 5 of 5

This place was so nice and we felt right at home. It was clean and roomy. Close to the parkway and attractions. The owners were A+ to deal with. We found this lovely home to be just what we needed. We loved being able to take our Yorkie with us. Thank you so much for your home and for us making such good memories. The grandsons loved the pool too. Such a nice place.
