Guestbook comments from the manager

I was planning to contact you when I settled again after our holiday. I just want to say a huge thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful villa. We were thrilled with the facilities it offered, it's beautiful decor and cleanliness. I only regret that we didn't have longer to spend there, relaxing and enjoying it. We were on the go a lot, fitting everything in but it was lovely to return to such a fantastic villa. We had a truly wonderful holiday.

Enjoyed Our Staytl

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this nice Cape Coral home. We arrived a little early and were able to move in and begin our stay. This home was suitable in furnishings and outdoor spaces. We were able to fish in the canal, and caught a few bass. It was nice to watch the waterfowl on the canal during the day. There. was plenty of places to shop for groceries, etc. in the area. We were able to book a four hour fishing trip through Jimbo's Charters and enjoyed the experience of being out in the bay for a nice day of fishing.

The pool was refreshing and well kept. A reminder to the owner, who told us he had a key, he doesn't. You have to leave the screen door open on Tuesday AM to allow him access to the pool area.

A couple things we noticed were: The sink in the kitchen is not attached to the countertop and the faucets are reversed. They are located in the right place with the right label, but hot water comes out of cold and cold out of hot. We adjusted, but poor workmanship in the makeover of the kitchen. Also, it would have been nice to have an ice maker. We purchased a couple trays, which we left for the next renter and purchased a bag of ice to make do. Hot pads and a couple more dish towels would have been nice also.

We also brought some paper plates after noticing on another review that there were not enough plates.

Also, as a mom I noticed someone has put down roach preventive on the edge of the patio, but left the open bottle right behind the chairs. We did not have small children, but it would be a concern if we did.

Overall we enjoyed the stay and were able to get in a few rounds of golf and with friends on Pine Island were able to go out on their boat to Captive for shelling.

Wonderful House in a Quiet Location!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed 6-18 March 2016.

First of all, the location is great if you want to stay away from the crazy traffic and crowds of Ft Myers!

Located on a very quiet street in a nice neighborhood. There is a dollar store, pizza/wings restaurant,

Dunkin Donuts, & nail salon just a few blocks away and a Publix grocery store about a mile away.

The house is wonderfully spacious, very clean, with open kitchen which is stocked with plenty of cookware and dining ware. Don’t bring too much stuff… check the kitchen/fridge first.! It was loaded with condiments, milk, juice, butter, etc.. all in clean and fresh states, as were spices, cereals coffee, water. There were also cling wrap, tin foil, baggies, dish soap etc.. the only thing it lacked was dishwasher soap.

Bathrooms (also spacious) had plenty of hand soap, toilet paper, etc..

Now the pool area… this is where we spent most of our time! Plenty of chairs and loungers and dining table, grill. It was so nice to sit out there drinking our coffee and watching the birds/ducks flying

over the canal, with the occasional boat. Very quiet and peaceful. Pool was very clean. We asked that the pool heater be turned up to 82F. Not sure if it actually got that warm, but it was ok after getting in for

a few minutes. Note: you will be asked to send a $65.00 electricity deposit. This will be used if your electrical usage goes over $35/week ( I think that’s correct). We had the air on (not too cool) and ceiling fans going all the time, plus the pool heat and we never went over our allocated amount and our $65 was immediately refunded when we left.

All and all… a very nice house in a great quiet area. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

A few recommendations:

There is a place about 10 minutes from the house called The Beef Guy. They make the BEST Italian Beef

Sandwiches! I’m Italian and make my own beef, but if this place was near me… I’d never make my own again! It rates 5 stars on Yelp!

www beefguycapecoral com

If you’d like to do some fishing.. try Jimbo’s Charters. Jim takes out up to 3 people on his very nice and

Immaculate boat. He charts currents, tides, wind, water ph, etc.. to find the best place to catch fish.

I think we caught one of everything in the water and even had a manatee poking his nose almost in the boat! Jim is a retired Vet and actively volunteers his time/boat/skills to help disabled Vets.

Give him a shot..we had a wonderful time!

Great Place for a Break

  • 5 of 5

This is a well designed house providing excellent accommodation. The house is exactly as advertised and very spacious with a well stocked open kitchen leading on to the Lounge. The outside space around the pool is very pleasant and includes chairs, loungers and a bar-b-q. The house is very clean and the furniture all looks like new. The canal at the back provides an interesting outlook. I would certainly recommend this house tho anyone.

Great place at a great location

  • 4 of 5

Two of us occupied the house from just after Christmas until late January, 2016. We had visiting children and grand-children join us sort of in shifts, each group for a few days . It worked well for us. The house is bright, and has a great floor plan. The location is good, and being on a canal is a real plus. The kayak was a bonus. The paddles weren’t in very good shape, but the kayakers made do. We enjoyed the pool, as it is kept heated, and has a nice cover to keep the heat in. The cover was easy to manage. The bicycles and golf clubs were a neat unexpected benefit.

A smoke alarm battery failed. The unit was near the top of the cathedral ceiling and the local contact person, Susan, came quickly and dealt with it. She was very friendly and helpful.

The house was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Although a minor point, we’d recommend more plates and dishes as sometimes there weren’t enough clean ones to go around. And, more kitchen dish towels would be a plus. These are small issues.

Overall, the house is excellent. We had some historic rains and storms and the many books in the library came in handy, although during those dreary days we did wish for better reading lights placed in the family room.

All in all, a very good place to stay.

Lovely home on a quiet street - restful area

  • 5 of 5

We are 4 adults traveling together and everyone had personal space. The house was large for our needs, but would also be good for a larger family. The pool was nice; we enjoyed the ducks & birds in the canal area. The place was clean and well maintained. It is a central location for Cape Coral & Ft Myers. We went on the "Everglades Adventure" which included a dolphin cruise, a swamp buggy ride, an airboat ride, lunch, a nature drive, a visit to the "Skunk Ape" wildlife exhibit where we were able to hold snakes, gators, & birds. There was also a huge boa constrictor. We enjoyed the Edison/Ford Estates, Wicked Dolphin Distillery, Butterfly House in Ft. Myers, historic Ft Myers, Begonia's Cuban restaurant in Ft Myers, Micelli's in Matlacha for waterfront & entertainment. Sanibel/Captiva were great except you must leave by 3 pm to avoid 3 hr trip home! Ding Darling Preserve & Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum were fun & educational. We drove around Pine Island & Matlacha for a look at a different side of Florida. We also visited the "Fleamaster" Fleamarket in Ft Myers. The SeaBreaze restaurant in Sanibel was a wonderful setting/view and great food.

Great place to stay :-)

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here the Christmas week 2015. This was the first time we rented house in Florida and it could not have been better.

All the information we had received before our arrival via email and phone dialogue with Diana and Doug turned out to be accurate.

The house is situated in a very quiet area and only 1.5 miles from a good Publix supermarket on 24th Street.

The house was clean and well equipped. We are a family with two sons in their 20's and house planning suited us perfectly. The boys at one end of the house and my wife and me in the main bedroom at the other end.

The swimming pool and the patio was a perfect place to end the day at. Well equipped with nice pool and barbecue, and great outdoor furniture.

Well-functioning WIFI and a large flat-screen TV with Netflix also appreciated.

In the afternoons we followed Diana’s instructions and sat on the dock and feed the turtles with hot dogs. Charming experience 

To top it all, we managed to be there in the middle of a heat wave and the weather was absolutely fantastic. 28-31 degrees Celsius (82-88 Fahrenheit)

During our stay we visited outlets in Tanger and Miromar just 30 – 45 minutes away.

Tanger outlet can be combined with a trip to beautiful Sanibel Island.

Thanks Diana & Dough!

Love to come back!
