About Owner/Property Manager

I am the manager with my husband. Born in Hawai'i, we paid our career dues in other states and bought real estate here (1st a lot) in 1983 and then more. We are so happy to live aloha, that we feel younger every day. This is our grandchild, Leo Lai Oin. When our daughter Jasmin graduated college, she came over, and within 7 years had married and now we are the perfect ohana in the perfect place. We value the complete and personal service to every one of our guests, as we did having traveled here for more than 30 vacations before moving here permanently in 1999. Ask us anything, as we are here to help and share the Spirit of The Island life; caring and growing as we demonstrate that it is more than the material that makes the difference in our lives. It is the Spirit of understanding the traveler; the need for privacy, with instructions that save you time, so you can play to your hearts content. We are personally hands-on and make sure that this home is spotless and filled with lots of fun, so every night, as well as day, is packed full of Joy!

Owner/Property Manager purchased this condo in 2005

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Kona Coast

We took on this property because there is absolutely no better location, if you are not an adept swimmer to be able to feel the healing waters of Hawai'i around you in the hard-to-explain experience only the Ocean can provide. The ancient Hawai'ians say that, to maintain optimum health, one should be in the ocean at least 1/2 hour every day. There is no other beach in Kona that allows everyone to feel safe in the ocean, as it is the only one protected by a reef far out of this nature.

What makes this condo unique

What can be better than new, clean with extra windows to let in the health-giving light and yet have drapes that block it out if you dance too late and want to sleep in. THE VIEWS FROM your windows and lanai make the difference. Even grandma (tutu) will not forget this vacation for the rest of her life.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Doesn't get better on the Big Island!

  • 5 of 5

We went here for a big family trip and my Mom and I stayed in this condo. My siblings and their families stayed in other units in the same location. We had the best unit! Although this building doesn't have an elevator, our view was fantastic. I loved being on the top floor, as the breezes just flowed through the house. The furnishings were comfortable. The location, across from the beach, allowed us to leave our valuables at home and just carry what we needed across the street. It's so nice to not have to load up the car for a quick snorkel. It isn't in the madness of the main strip which allowed us to avoid that area when we were traveling around the area, but close enough that it was very convenient when we wanted to go there. I spent a lot of time looking for the perfect unit and I'm so glad I found this one!

Just for additional information for anyone who is looking for condo's in this same building, one of my siblings had a bottom floor unit and it was stifling hot. They had to keep the A/C on at all times, so they couldn't hear the sounds of the ocean. Their view was obstructed by shrubs and trees, and they thought they were getting direct access to the pool but there was a wall around their patio area and they had to go completely around.

Another sibling had a unit in the 2nd building on the top floor. It had an elevator. They enjoyed their unit, but they didn't have quite the view we had, or the breezes.

If you just have 2 people, and don't mind working out your calves, this is the place for you!

Wonderful condo and location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week in June. The location is clearly the best! The beach across the street is wonderful for snorkeling, lots of fish, turtles, even has a lifeguard. We'd go out first thing in the morning, when the sun isn't too hot, and the water is calm. A great way to start every day. It's also close to shopping and restaurants, so we didn't have to drive much to find everything we needed.

The condo is beautiful, has all the amenities, and a great view of the ocean. The lanai is private, since there is no building next door. We had all our meals sitting out on their comfortable lanai, watching birds in the trees, and the ocean. We never needed the A/C - all the ceiling fans plus great breezes (being both next to the ocean and a corner unit) made it quite comfortable.

Do remember that there is no elevator (which wasn't a problem for us.)

Mahalo!! I hope we'll be back!

Your Beach View Home.

  • 5 of 5

We found this condo very comfortable and it exceeded our expectations. It was larger than we expected from the photos. We loved the wall of greenery on the next property that made it so private and was home to a great variety of birds we enjoyed watching. We had many meals on the lanai taking in the spectacular ocean view. It was great to have beach chairs etc available for our use. Ali'i Drive was very noisy during the day but quieted at nite.... a small price to pay for such a beautiful location across from the beach. Comfortable king bed and great to have 2 very nice and spacious bathrooms. One minor caveat: not in a gated condo complex, make sure doors are locked in eves & at night and car is empty. Overall, terrific condo!

Great

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Hawaii 7 times and all the islands. This unit was excellent. Modern kitchen, W&D, plenty of towels, lots of beach chairs. two boogie boards and even some snorkel gear. The beach across the street is the best snorkeling on the Big Island. Great location for jogging. Short drive to downtown Kona or to Target or Walmart. KTA at the top of the hill was a full grocery store. Several restaurants there too. We did grill twice. Nice lanai with a view.

Professional booking agents.

Good to know: the bed was very soft, there are stairs to the third floor unit and the screen door opened the wrong way. We will check this unit first for our next trip.

Just like home

  • 5 of 5

This location was excellent for our needs. We snorkeled in the ocean across the street every morning to start our day. We drove to the other side of the island to Hilo 3 x's and down to the Volcanoes national park twice. Up North we visited the beautiful Hupuna Beach and played until sunset. We explored the towns, shopped and ate out a lot. It was nice to come back to a nice cool shower and calm/clean place to stay. love the palm tree's eye level outside where we sat and ate breakfast with the sunrise each morning. Loved April, who made the whole thing easy. I have already recommended her to my daughter who will be going to the big Island in October. Thank you April. Lots of blessings to you too!

Fantastic Week!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week, based at the Kahala'u Beach Villas. The unit is very comfortable and it was spectacular to walk to excellent snorkeling! As described, it is a walk up to the third level, but that never bothered us. Also really great for day trips both north and south. April was always very quick to respond if we had any questions. Thank you for making our first visit to the Big Island so special.
