You're at coconut tree top level so lots of privacy here. Newer Tommy Bahama furniture, 1 bedroom with 2 baths, including the lanai that overlooks the beach. The master bedroom has a king size bed and is appointed with warm tropical tones, high-quality kitchenware, wireless internet & cable on big flat-screen TV mentioned above. New screens just installed on the 2 custom lanai doors.
The living room has a really comfortable Thomasville, pull-out sofa sleeper for two more occupants. Air conditioning (optional), gas BBQ, infinity pool, spa & privacy.
The beach park has beach gear to rent, a pavilion, showers, and restrooms. You can relax in the sand under the shade of coconut trees or discover the wonders of the reef. This is the snorkelers' paradise. Surfers & body boarders have their favorite surf spot on the north end of the park further out beyond the reef where you can take lessons.

We took on this property because there is absolutely no better location, if you are not an adept swimmer to be able to feel the healing waters of Hawai'i around you in the hard-to-explain experience only the Ocean can provide. The ancient Hawai'ians say that, to maintain optimum health, one should be in the ocean at least 1/2 hour every day. There is no other beach in Kona that allows everyone to feel safe in the ocean, as it is the only one protected by a reef far out of this nature.
What can be better than new, clean with extra windows to let in the health-giving light and yet have drapes that block it out if you dance too late and want to sleep in. THE VIEWS FROM your windows and lanai make the difference. Even grandma (tutu) will not forget this vacation for the rest of her life.
We found this condo very comfortable and it exceeded our expectations. It was larger than we expected from the photos. We loved the wall of greenery on the next property that made it so private and was home to a great variety of birds we enjoyed watching. We had many meals on the lanai taking in the spectacular ocean view. It was great to have beach chairs etc available for our use. Ali'i Drive was very noisy during the day but quieted at nite.... a small price to pay for such a beautiful location across from the beach. Comfortable king bed and great to have 2 very nice and spacious bathrooms. One minor caveat: not in a gated condo complex, make sure doors are locked in eves & at night and car is empty. Overall, terrific condo!
We have been to Hawaii 7 times and all the islands. This unit was excellent. Modern kitchen, W&D, plenty of towels, lots of beach chairs. two boogie boards and even some snorkel gear. The beach across the street is the best snorkeling on the Big Island. Great location for jogging. Short drive to downtown Kona or to Target or Walmart. KTA at the top of the hill was a full grocery store. Several restaurants there too. We did grill twice. Nice lanai with a view.

Good to know: the bed was very soft, there are stairs to the third floor unit and the screen door opened the wrong way. We will check this unit first for our next trip.
This location was excellent for our needs. We snorkeled in the ocean across the street every morning to start our day. We drove to the other side of the island to Hilo 3 x's and down to the Volcanoes national park twice. Up North we visited the beautiful Hupuna Beach and played until sunset. We explored the towns, shopped and ate out a lot. It was nice to come back to a nice cool shower and calm/clean place to stay. love the palm tree's eye level outside where we sat and ate breakfast with the sunrise each morning. Loved April, who made the whole thing easy. I have already recommended her to my daughter who will be going to the big Island in October. Thank you April. Lots of blessings to you too!
We had a fantastic week, based at the Kahala'u Beach Villas. The unit is very comfortable and it was spectacular to walk to excellent snorkeling! As described, it is a walk up to the third level, but that never bothered us. Also really great for day trips both north and south. April was always very quick to respond if we had any questions. Thank you for making our first visit to the Big Island so special.
We loved staying here. The view from every room in the house is just breathtaking-palm trees and sparkling blue water. I loved sitting on the lanai and watching the waves and the snorkelers in the park across the street. The birds kept us occupied, as well.
The condo is furnished with everything you need. the kitchen is very well stocked, and there is shampoo and toiletries in both bathrooms. I loved the walk in shower in the main bedroom..
There is also a plethora of beach equipment, towels, etc.
I am an avid snorkeler, so being right across from the beach there was fabulous. It is a great beach for snorkeling. It isn't wonderful for just swimming and playing in the waves, but that seems to be typical of the Big Island.
My husband doesn't care for the ocean, so he loved the pool and hot tub.The pool is VERY refreshing (on the cool side) so the hot tub helped a lot. Several times we were the only ones there. Other times we got to meet some new, friendly people. This is a pretty quiet and small complex. We used the grill at the pool to cook fresh fish one night, too.
There are tons of people that walk, jog, bike on A'liki Drive, even though there aren't sidewalks. I was a little concerned when I looked at GoogleEarth views, but found it was fine for a morning workout.
There is a nice mall within a mile that has cultural demos (little kids doing hula, for example) and a wonderful farmer's market, along with restaurants and KTA grocery store ( I got some really good poke there) . There's another farmer's and artisan's market south by the Sheraton, too. The harbor there offers snorkeling trips, whale watching and swimming with manta rays (recommended!) Much easier than driving way north.
Towards town, easy driving distance, are plenty of other restaurants. We enjoyed Huggo's on the Rocks and Don's Beachcomber.
We never needed to use the air conditioning, even though there were some days when the trades didn't seem to be blowing. The ceiling fans were fine.
There is some traffic noise from A'liki drive, but mostly during the day. It was never an irritant. I was just aware of it. At night, it is very quiet.
Good wifi, and lots of channels on the TV, if you need to have some entertainment.
I would love to stay here again. I was so sad when we had to leave.
We were very impressed with this unit. It is first class all the way and couldn't be more well located. Aside from being modern with first class finishes the views are wonderful. The unit is fully equipped with all the beach chairs, boards etc. you will need. Having a fold out couch and second bath also make this a realistic unit for two couples. The lanai is very nice. With ceiling fans throughout the unit we never did use the air conditioner. Wireless is easy and strong. Plenty of free parking. The pool area is great and having the best snorkling beach on the island just across the street isd unbeatable. For the price I don't think you could find a better unit.
We will all of our vacationers a detailed list of activities and restaurant discounts & hours and volcano insight you cannot find on the internet. The views of the beach are taken from this condo and it is impossible to get closer in any other accommodation in the area. Get snorkel and surf lessons right across from this ocean condo. Our daughter is not athletic and truly enjoyed the surf lessons.
