The property could not have been better as far as location. You walk out your door and within a couple of minutes walk are near the center of town, restaurants (right across the street is Le 80 Jours where we had a fabulous dinner), boulangeries, grocers, boutiques, etc. We chose to take a week parking pass across the street which gave us unlimited in/out privileges-- this worked out great.
The building is on 3 floors, bedrooms, bathrooms, living room area and kitchen are spacious. Kitchen was well furnished, but we were there for a week and the house was not adequately supplied with Kleenex or toilet paper which we had to purchase. The decor of the building is rather tired -- stains on furniture, lots of clutter around, bed linens smelled musty and we had to wash before feeling comfortable with them. The washing machine was an adventure -- dryer built into the machine which took on average 2 hours to dry a rather small load of wash.
It would have helped immensely if the owner had a handbook for renters on how to operate things -- appliances, TV, washing machine, etc. which we have always had before with VRBO properties. Also, our party of 4 people (2 couples) was only given 1 key to share. This was a bit of an inconvenience.
The building is old and our group of 4 loved the old walls, winding stairs and "bones" of the house. It could stand a very thorough cleaning, and would be difficult for people who have trouble navigating stairs as they are very uneven in places.
In summary, location fantastic. Building furnishings could be improved.
