This former B&B is now available for rent as a private vacation home. Tastefully decorated, this home is the perfect place for your family reunions, wedding guests, and other large groups. A place where memories are made.
Thank you for another wonderful family gathering. The house is perfect for a large group - plenty of room for cooking, eating together and just relaxing. Highly recommended!
I stayed in this house with my extended family for a fall weekend on the Cape. The house was perfect for the occasion. As a large group, we did not feel cramped. The 6 bathrooms were fantastic! And the second kitchen in the back was perfect for couples with young kids for early morning breakfast. The house was very clean, exactly as described.
You could not ask for a more central location. Just a few minutes' walk from the center of Falmouth, we really enjoyed the restaurants and shops in town.
Joanne was extremely responsive to all questions/communications and was flexible and helpful as we made our plans.
I would absolutely rent this house again.
First of all, both Joanne and Randy were welcoming, helpful, and supportive. There were 7 gals in the house for a week. We had an amazing time. We loved the history of the home, the location, and the roominess. Beds were comfortable and we were able to spread out all over the house.
The main oven was a bit iffy at times. Also, we would have liked to have had the fridge cleared of food - most everything but condiments. Other than that, we all highly recommend and enjoyed this home!
I could not have been happier with the property. It has a ton of character! I stayed there over a weekend with 12 other women. It had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us, and the property was immaculate. It is in a great location from beaches, shops, and restaurants.
I would absolutely stay here again with a group of people, and I would highly recommend it to others looking for a big property to house lots of people.
Joanne and Randy were great hosts. They were easy to contact and were quick with their responses.
This house was a perfect getaway for our reunion--a charming. We comfortably fit six families including 2 young children and 3 teenagers. Although the bathrooms were small, the bedrooms and living areas were spacious allowing for both privacy and whole group time. The porch turned out to be a favorite breakfast spot. The well-stocked kitchens (two of them) included everything you could possibly need for your stay. In fact, all the bedding, bath and beach towels, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc. you might possibly need are available at the home. The location was great--walking distance to town for dinner and shopping, the bike trail and the beach. Easy bike ride or bus to Woods Hole or Falmouth Ferry to Martha's Vineyard or just hanging out in Woods Hole. Location on main road might be considered a negative. The owner was very friendly and available. All-in-all a great house for our group of 16. Not sure exactly where or when the next reunion will be, but this will be high on our list of possibilities. Thanks, Joanne, for a great Cape Cod stay!
Our family stayed in this former bed and breakfast for a week-long reunion and had a blast. The house has lots of period charm (a kind of crazy-quilt floor plan and beautiful old moldings and windows), and is conveniently situated to downtown Falmouth, with its picture-postcard village green, trendy shops, and excellent restaurants. It's also a very short distance from the extensive walking/bike path that runs throughout this area of the Cape. You can walk or bike to Surf Beach, and it's a short car trip to other beaches and to tourist-friendly Woods Hole. There's a ferry that takes cars and passengers to Martha's Vineyard (Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven) in Woods Hole, and a passenger-only ferry to Oak Bluffs right in Falmouth.
In terms of the house, the big plusses are its spaciousness, relaxed atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen with a whopping gas stove, and large grill. (It's easy to cook for a big group if you don't want to eat out every night.) The house is also surprisingly light and airy, and the dining room has both a small table and large table that together comfortably seat around 20. The outdoor seating, fire pit, and bocce ball court are all great, but I will say there can be a lot of traffic on Locust Street during the high season. (The central air conditioning, however, makes the street noise unproblematic inside the house.) Joanne also keeps the house stocked with necessities like toilet paper and paper towels--so you don't have to run out to the store the moment you arrive!--and beach towels and beach chairs are also supplied. Probably the main negative of the house is that while it has many bathrooms, several of them are very small--this didn't really bother us; in fact, it was kind of charming--but you should be aware of it. Also, it's a bit difficult to launder all the towels before the 11 am checkout--we realized we should have planned more for this, although it turned out that Joanne was flexible about leaving some of them in the laundry room that we just couldn't get to.
Overall, I would highly recommend this house to groups/families that are looking for a broad experience of the Cape--not just the beach but a picturesque town with great shopping/dining and easy access to Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard. It was a perfect location for our reunion.
Falmouth is a quaint seaside town located on the upper cape. The town features several restaurants, shops, museums, theatre, and art galleries. For outdoor fun, there are beaches, golf courses, bike paths, boating, sightseeing tours, and much, much more. Falmouth has it's own fitness center and bus station with direct routes to Boston and connections to New York.
