The downstairs gite opens straight out onto the barbecue terrace and garden. Two bedrooms share one a shower/wc room and a large, open plan kitchen/dining/living room. The old stone walls keep the gite cool in the summer.

The building itself is on a quiet cul-de-sac with views of the town to the south and the countryside all around.
The region is perfect for a quiet getaway, family holiday or adventure break. The town is surrounded by thousands of square miles of forests and vineyards whilst the famous canyons are a paradise for thrill seekers such as canoeists, hikers and climbers.
We bought and renovated this house in 2010 when we were working in the holidays business. It was already split into two apartments so we kept the layout but changed and updated almost everything else. We have tried to marry the original charm of the building with modern standards of comfort.
The upstairs gite is accessed by an external staircase. It is totally private from downstairs, which we used to keep as our own. Unfortunately, life and work keep us away from the house and the Ardeche so we will be letting the downstairs gite in 2015. We have some great local help to take care of meeting guests, cleaning and little problems that may occur.
Adam Breen purchased this house in 2010
We weren't really looking for a renovation when we bought but were captivated by the house. It has so much potential and when we considered the location - close to but not actually in the town - we had to buy it. It was a lot of work to get the place up to scratch but we're really pleased with the results.
The Ardèche is a place of peaceful, rugged beauty and charm. We have tried to make our house fit in...
The greatest benefit of this house is it's close-but-not-too-close location. Walk for 10 minutes in either direction and you're either right in town or right in the country. Stay put and you can look at both over a nice aperitif on the balcony...
We have just returned from a two week stay and didn't want to leave. The house was just as described and more. There was everything we needed, and we felt really at home. The house was beautifully cool, which was a pleasant relief as it was extremely hot whilst we were there.
Corinne the house keeper welcomed us when we got there and despite her limited english and our poor french she made sure we had everything we needed and showed us where everything was.
A great place to stay and a fantastic location as just a short walk into town where there were plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from.
There also seemed to be lots of activities to do, but we spent most of our time cycling and would certainly recommend the area as a place for cyclists with quite roads and fantastic places to ride to including some challenging climbs!
A great holiday all round 😊
The house was spacious and facilities great. It had plenty of space and in good order. Comfortable for two adults and two teenagers. Outside seating and barbecue area good, but not that big. There was an attached meadow but it was somewhat overgrown so not useable. The house had a local folder with great hints and tips. Five minutes easy walk to town with great restaurants and shops. The property is probably better suited to older children as toddlers may have trouble without large garden. We loved the area, canoeing, river swimming and visit to caves a must. May be booking for next year. Good communication from owners and local cleaner was lovely and helpful. A bonne vacance indeed!
It was a pleasure to stay in this house. It has everything, from the BBQ to the dish washer and a complete guide to visit the area. It was really clean and we could even move in before the official time. Thanks!
This rental property is in a quiet area, right where the lively town of Vallon Pont d'Arc meets the beautiful countryside of the southern Ardèche.
The town is most famous for being at the entrance to the mighty Ardèche Gorge. The gorge is a deep, winding canyon that has been cut into the limestone over millennia and features the incredible Pont d'Arc - a naturally formed bridge of rock over the river. Canoeists and walkers flock to the Gorge each year to brave the rapids and walk the riverside trails.
Away from the Gorge there is plenty more to see and do from sunbathing on the riverside beaches to numerous adventure activities. These include mountain biking, horse riding, treetop ropes courses, climbing, canyoning and caving to name a few.
The fields and forests are full of peaceful, well marked walking trails whilst the winding roads make for many a scenic drive or cycle.
Beneath this blissful countryside lie miles and miles of caves - the most famous of which is the Grotte Chauvet. Discovered in the 1990's the Chauvet cave rewrote the history books by showing that neolithic man lived in the Ardèche 36,000 years ago. A new UNESCO exhibition centre opened in 2015.
