Why Katherine Friday chose Sherwood
This property was passed down through generations. I decided to make improvements and share this magnificent nature getaway with those who are traveling this way and/or just want to get out of the city. Enjoy peace and quiet in this relaxing country woodland setting on a ridge top with surrounding valleys and natural landscape and managed flower gardens and various outdoor seating. An natural oasis with charm and Southern ambiance. Enjoy!

A Breath of Fresh Air
This is one of my new favorite places in the world. The loft feels like staying in a treehouse. It's very private. The whole property and the hostess radiate peace.
The air is fresh as if were just made. Crickets sing softly when the sun goes down. There are easy trails to walk. The sunsets are glorious with a view of what I assume to be the foothills of the Ouachita Mountain range.
It is a 10-mile scenic drive to Interstate 40 which makes for easy access to both Little Rock and Conway and easy day trips to both the Ozarks and the Ouachitas.
The closest township is Mayflower. There are two family-owned restaurants there with home-cooked Southern meals. I recommend both of them.
The room is very comfortable. The kitchen surprised me that there are enough appliances to make real meals.
There are stairs to get into the loft. My 85-year-old Dad said that they are easy and solid stairs.
Katherine is just a text away if you need anything, and she will GLADLY provide for your needs. She very professional, cordial, and is very accommodating when she is called upon.
This is a perfect place to run away to and feel at home with the woods and the sky.
Starlight Ridge is a GO!
The property, the loft apartment, the gardens and the surrounding area was fantastic. Our host was very kind and extremely nice. I was not initially aware that it was a loft apartment but she did tell me that when I talked to her. I did not expect such a small shower but it worked. Just a little tight for me but no major deal. One of the beds was uncomfortable and noisy (creaked and springs making noise) every time you moved on it.
Overall, however, it really was a wonderful place and a very nice weekend. Yes, I would happily go back but prefer to stay in the cottage part and not the loft apartment.
The welcoming committee was fantastic!!!!
Close to heaven
This place is off the beaten path but so worth the extra drive. The cottage was immaculate and hospitality was superb. So quiet and peaceful.
We travelled to watch our grandson play against Central Arkansas and decided on staying at the retreat. What a beautiful place. 55 acres of beautiful setting with trails to walk and the quiet atmosphere and setting was fantastic. Will stay here again. Thanks Katherine.
