Breath taking beauty with unforgettable memories!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful cabin with literally any cooking utensil you could possibly need. We did a lot of meals at the cabin & never had a want for anything. Creek was a blast for the kids to explore & although there are other cabins around you are very much alone & at peace. Brad & Ginger were available anytime we called with a question, provided excellent recommendations & were definitely interested in our comfort at their home. Robbinsville is larger than I anticipated with a nicely stocked grocery store, dining establishments & even Friday night dances. Only caution I would offer travelers is all driving takes twice as long in the Smokies but I HIGHLY encourage you to take on the adventure, we made lifelong memories that we will cherish forever. We WILL be back someday, and we WILL look at booking this cabin again...hoping sooner rather than later!!!

Beautiful luxury cabin in North Carolina Mountains.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful High Frontier Cabin. Quiet, remote location provided us a great chance to get away from it all! Loved sitting on the porches in the morning with my coffee watching the beautiful assortment of birds! We enjoyed day trips to Joyce Kilmer, Stecoah Gap, Yellow Creek falls and just staying exploring around the cabin. Beautiful woods and crystal clear creeks abound! The cabin was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It was well equiped for all our needs. Brad and Ginger were lovely hosts, we enjoyed booking from them. We hope to come back someday!

Wonderful quiet nature experience with all the comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved high frontier cabin. It was isolated enough to be quiet and give us the piece that we wanted and yet it had all the comforts of home, it's fully functional kitchen, A/C to keep us cool and dry, washer and dryer, and of course a hot tub. We had plenty of space in the porch was awesome. Also the back porch with the picnic table offered meals outside in nature without having to struggle with the plate on your lap. Hosts Brad and Ginger were phenomenal and accommodating to every need. This is definitely a wonderful getaway vacation. we will be back!

Wonderfully Remote Resting Spot

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin in June 2018. It was ideal for our family of five. Our kids spent many hours wading in the nearby creek, which is a short walk down the driveway and across a very lightly travelled gravel road. We didn't mind at all that the nearest town was about 30 minutes away. We brought our groceries and made good use of the charcoal grill and used the fire pit for hot dogs and smores. Although you will feel secluded, there is plenty to do in the area. We took a morning hike among the enormous 400 year old trees at the nearby Joyce Kilmer forest. We took a drive across the Cherohala Skyway, hiked up Huckleberry Knob, and visited Bald River Falls. We took a rafting trip on the Nantahala River, which was about an hour away. We spent a day visiting some of the merchants in the area (Hunting Boy Wood Carving, Yellow Branch Pottery and Cheese, Stoney Hollow Farm, and Wehrloom Honey). Although we prepared most of our meals at the cabin, we enjoyed dining at the Tapoco Tavern and The Hub. Both places offered fun, casual riverside dining. Bear in mind that the cabin is not located directly adjacent to the creek. You can hear it. You can barely see it from the front porch. But, it is a short walk down the nicely paved driveway. Also, I would note that there is no onsite trash pickup. The owners will expect you to carry your trash out with you. There is a dumpster available on the way to Robbinsville. I would recommend arriving in the daylight. As the road approaching the cabin is well maintained, but I imagine driving it for the first time in the dark would be a challenge. Overall, we found the cabin to be very well constructed, tastefully decorated and well maintained.
