We had a lovely stay in your property and look forward to returning back in the future. Thank you for the welcome basket you gave us but unfortunately we could not eat any of the products due to dietary requirements. We had some extra food left which we have left in the fridge.
Wow wow wow! Amazing lodge!! It was our perfect paradise for a week! Fantastic location well equipped!
Seeing the northern lights from the decking simply amazing!!!
Everything was perfect!!
We spent 3 nights here and really wish we could have stayed longer. The location was superb for exploring the Golden Circle and the south of Iceland, be sure to check out the Kerið crater which you will pass on the way to the cottage. Eating out in Iceland was very expensive but we shopped at the Bonus store in Hveragerði for groceries and were able to use BBQ and kitchen at the cottage which had everything we would need including some spices and containers for lunches. David Karlsson was the contact for the owner and he was very responsive to my queries. We actually arrived an hour earlier than scheduled and met the owner who was very friendly but he was still cleaning the cottage so we went to the golf course beside the cottage. They actually have a restaurant there, nothing fancy but the food was good and the coffee and dessert were great. On our last night (Aug 31st) we saw a strange cloud overhead and about 1 minute later we realized it was the Northern Lights when the cloud turned green and was dancing across the sky. It went on for about 90 minutes which was much longer than we thought it would last. So we sat in the hot tub and enjoyed the view above our head. We loved the view from the cottage and how peaceful and quiet it was, we would definitely return to this cottage in the future.
This cottage rental was exactly as it looked in the photo's. We loved that it was remote but not too remote. In the 6 days we spent there, we covered a lot of South Iceland in easy day trips. We loved coming back to the cottage at the end of day, soaking our weary bones in the hot tub, and cooking our dinner. Eating out is costly in Iceland and the nearest restaurant is 20 minutes away. We had sunshine and clear skies for 6 straight days! We were blessed to have witnessed the Northern Lights 5 nights in a row, right from the cottage deck! It was awe inspiring and a dream come true. They appeared most nights around 10pm but one night they were so bright, they lit up the cottage at 2am and woke us up. The only thing I would suggest the owners do is make a book of how to use things. It took us 20 minutes the first day to learn how to lock the door when we left. All in all it was a perfect cottage, clean, and extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this rental.
Very nice situation, all equipment in the house! Whirlpool! We ( 2 adults, 4 children) enjoyed our stay very much. Very nice pool in Borg nearby. We would come back every time. Good price relation. Thank you!
What a fantastic property this is - far exceeded our expectations. Set in beautiful location and so close to Golden Circle. Everything provided in property including toilet rolls, dishwasher tabs, coffee, herbs/spices.Great gas Bbq. We travelled a lot during our few days and visited the Ice Lagoon (quite a drive but so worth it!), stopped at many places en route aswell, Geysir, Gulfoss, Pingvellir Nat Park, Reykjavik, Blue Lagoon (make sure you book before leaving UK, as very busy), Hveragerdi. We found the Bonus in Selfoss to be the best supermarket, follow road out of town towards Hella and it is on the last roundabout. Food prices about double what you pay in Uk. All alcohol must be purchased at special store not supermarket. Had a great time in Iceland and would certainly recommend this property to others.
Beautiful cottage with amazing views. The perfect location for sightseeing Iceland...the Golden Circle, Secret Lagoon, Skogafoss, and for those that enjoy lovely long distance drives like us to places such as the Black Sand Beach and other wonderful places in Iceland. We were very fortunate to have witnessed the amazing and truly magnificent Northern Lights, not once but twice from the comfort of our cottage!
The information provided by David from when we enquired about renting the cottage was clear, concise and prompt. The only recommendation I would make is for David to provide GPS coordinates of the cottage as the instructions he had provided were not easy to follow on arrival in the night time and in snowy conditions; but the owner was available to guide us to the cottage.
