Vacation in our charming 'old Florida style' beach cottage just across the street from the white sandy beach and a short walk to world famous John's Pass Village where you will find unique shops, wonderful restaurants and many activities. This quaint cottage was built in 1938 and has been beautifully renovated with a full kitchen, (including coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and of course a blender!), living room dining room, 2 bedrooms, with a queen and double bed, full bathroom has an old fashioned claw foot bathtub. Bath and bed linens included. Our non-smoking cottage is fully furnished in a comfortable 'beach style' decor with heat and A.C., washer and dryer, cable T.V., VCR, and DVD.
The fenced in back yard is landscaped in a tropical setting with a brick patio, gas grill and plenty of seating to relax or grill.
Convenient transportation is available on the beach trolley.
Both John and I are Florida natives. I was born in Clearwater and John in Jacksonville. Both of us have lived our entire lives in Florida.
John and Wynn Kenyon purchased this cottage in 2005
The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood with the beautiful beach across the street. It gives you a home away from home feel. We purchased the cottages from our dear friends that we have known for many years. We fell in love with the old Florida style that is so hard to find anymore with the boom of condos.
Great location and cute place to stay. Everything you cold possibly need and more is provided. Loved the completely fenced in back yard for the dog. Close to the water, dinning, and shopping. Would stay again and recommend to friends.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage and we were met there by Wynn upon our arrival. She showed us around and made sure we had what we needed to start our vacation. The cottage was wonderfully equipped with everything you could ever want in, and more. Fully stocked kitchen, beach towels, beach chairs, and more! The fenced backyard, shared with the 1 bedroom cottage (which happened to be vacant while we were there) was lovely. The location was perfect... just across the street (a really short walk) to the beach and down the road from Johns Pass, where we explored bars, restaurants and a local fish market all week long. Despite a few afternoon storms, the weather was perfect. This was our first time to Madeira Beach and we loved it. We will definitely be back and we hope we can stay in the Charming Cottage again. Thanks so much for your hospitality!
The one bedroom cottage was a little piece of heaven. It is decorated beautifully, which wonderful beach decor. It's cozy and comfortable, yet has an "at home" feeling. The owner provides EVERYTHING you could want or need for your stay, including beach chairs, towels and coolers. There is a grill and an outside sitting area. It is private and somewhat secluded, yet just minutes from the public entrance to the beach. Wynn, the owner, is kind, pleasant and compassionate and goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable. I have stayed many, many places in the years I have been coming here, but this is by far the absolute best trip I have ever had here. If I could give it 10 stars I would! You won't regret staying in one of the two cottages she and her husband own.
From the moment we opened the door of our cottage my husband and I fell in love. Wynn and John make it easy to stay and go above and beyond to make one feel right at home. You can see the love Wynn and John put into their cottage the décor is lovely with many amenities there is nothing we needed except for some groceries for our stay.
The yard was enjoyable to relax in and enjoy the beautiful plants and shrubs it was fun to watch the little lizards scooting about.
It was nice meeting Wynn and John when they came to the cottage to trouble shoot a minor problem. Wynn was available for any questions we had and gave us information about nice places to view, and nearby activities and shopping.
I enjoyed many neighborhood walks, we spent time on the beach, trips to Johns Pass area restaurants and just hanging in our home away.
We have booked a return trip for this fall.
If you pass this listing up you are making a mistake.
This was one of the nicest cottages we have ever rented through HomeAway. The location is fantastic. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and the owner is extremely nice and helpful. She supplies you with the most basic stuff like coffee, sugar, oil and toilet paper until you get a chance to get organized with grocery shopping. The backyard is very nicely landscaped. This is a much nicer alternative to staying in a condo at the beach. You just need to cross the street to get to the Madeira Beach. There is even an outdoor shower in the backyard to 'desand' when you get back from swimming. We will definitely come back! Thanks again for everything, Wynn.
My husband and I stayed in the 1 bedroom cottage for the month of March. Everything you need is here. The cottage was spotless when we checked in. The location is excellent with the gorgeous beach a 2 minute walk across Gulf Blvd. Lots of great restaurants close by. The owners are wonderful people and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
Madeira Beach is a unique beach community because it is centered around world famous John's Pass Village. The village is located on the intercoastal waterway where you can partake in many activities such as boating, jet skiing, fishing, gambling cruise ships, just about any water sport available. Unique shops, great restaurants, plenty of day and night entertainment. The beach is one of the most beautiful and natural beaches around with outstanding sunsets.
