This apartment made our holiday complete!

This is a spacious, comfortable apartment containing all the facilities as advertised, situated at the very heart of St Malo’s Intra-Muros. The beds are very comfortable, and we slept well.

Before our holiday, Etienne told us that the car-park card was no longer available. There is a parking courtyard for the apartment, but access is tight and we decided that it would be easier just to use the municipal car parks close to the apartment. There is no overnight charge for the town’s car parks and they are reasonably priced during the day.

Etienne always responded promptly to any queries (submitted through the website), which gave us confidence in our booking and allowed us to look forward to our holiday.

Having a lovely, secure apartment to return to each night helps to complete the holiday, and this apartment is very well suited for that role. We would certainly use the apartment again, if it is available, and we have no hesitation in recommending it.

Mitten drin!

Die Kontaktaufnahme und Buchungsabwicklung mit dem Vermieter erfolgten reibungslos und prompt. Das Apartment liegt inmitten der Stadtmauern der Altstadt von St. Malo. Damit fällt man sozusagen aus der Haustür und ist gleich mitten im Geschehen, ob es nun die Unmenge von Restaurants oder Creperien sind, die Einkaufsmeile oder die umgebende Stadtmauer, also für alle, die den Trubel mögen. Wer allerdings des Nachts auf viel Ruhe hofft, mag enttäuscht sein, denn die Straßensänger hören gewöhnlich erst gegen 23 Uhr auf. Dann wird es aber auch ruhiger auf den Gassen von St. Malo. Erst am Morgen gegen 8 Uhr zieht die Stadtreinigung mit Laubbläsern durch die Strassen, was einen Wecker damit unnötig macht. Zum Glück geht aber eines der beiden Schlafzimmer zum Innenhof raus, dort ist es dann auch etwas ruhiger. Das Apartment hat grundsätzlich einen guten Eindruck hinterlassen. Allerdings - und was man auf den Bildern natürlich nicht sieht - lässt die Ausstattung zumindest für uns Deutsche einige Wünsche offen. Ob das nun die lockere Duschstange ist, das wenige Geschirr und Besteck (bei 5 Personen muss der Geschirrspüler sicherlich jeden Tag laufen lassen) oder das hakelige Schloss der Eingangstür. Dennoch wäre ein wenig mehr Aufmerksamkeit des Vermieter für diese Dinge wünschenswert gewesen. Ansonsten sollte man berücksichtigen, dass es sich bei dem Gebäude um einen Altbau handelt und dadurch Geräusche aus den anliegenden Wohnungen doch teilweise recht gut zu hören sind, teilweise auch des Nachts. Zu dem Apartment gehört auch ein Parkplatz im Innenhof des Hauses. Allerdings ist sowohl die Zufahrt, die Toreinfahrt und auch der Innenhof sehr eng, sodass empfohlen wird, diesen möglichst nur mit einem Kleinwagen zu nutzen. Ausserdem ist er meist voll. Etienne hat jedoch eine Parkkarte zur Hand, die es ermöglicht den Wagen (auch größere) auf einem der zahlreichen Parkplätze vor den Stadtmauern zu parken (Achtung: kann allerdings mit einige Suche besonders in der Hauptreisezeit verbunden sein).
