About Annie Lindquist
Tom and Annie have lived in Westhaven since 1987. Tom runs a small landscape construction business and Annie teaches 2nd grade at Trinidad School.
Annie Lindquist purchased this Cabin in 1987
Why Annie Lindquist chose Trinidad
We fell in love with this property in 1987 because of the beautiful redwood forest, the space to raise chickens, plant an orchard and turn the property into our own little slice of paradise!

Clean, Cozy and Comfortable
Rustic cabin nestled in the redwoods. Not far from town. BBQ, spa, house, and grounds nice and clean. Well appointed and did not run out of towels or paper products; the fresh eggs were a welcome surprise. Dogs loved the setting and the freedom to explore and play fetch. Will definitely recommend to others and we look forward to a return trip sometime in the future.
Peaceful little cottage
The house was difficult to find. Partly because the cleaning lady was still there at check in. No address you can see from road. The cleaning ladies car was there so we drove around for 15 minutes trying to figure out where to go. The toilet leaks and it is not sturdy. Also, husband noticed a leak under home. Bad smell. The beds are comfortable. We were able to have a fire outside and enjoyed the hot tub. Other than trying to find the place we enjoyed our stay.
Sorry you had trouble finding the cottage. I'm glad you were able to find it. The toilet issue has been resolved!
Cute, but has some major flaws.....
I will start with the positives: cozy, hot tub, private, easy in and out parking, wood burning stove.
When I read previous reviews regarding the smell and the toilet issue, I thought, it couldn't be that bad - well it is!!! We had to go purchase incense to burn to kill the smell, which is definitely more than just musty coastal smell - we think the smell is tied to the uneven, tipsy toilet that makes a big clunk, clunk sound when getting on and off the toilet....
Also, the futon is more comfortable than the queen bed - I felt like I was sleeping on a rock when I slept 1 night on the bed- the other two nights, I slept on the futon. Also, as you walk in the front door, you are immediately at the wood burning stove which is raised on a step that my husband immediately tripped over and I actually fell over- they should mark the small step with some orange tape or something, as it blends in with the rest of the flooring.
None of this ruined our vacation - but we would not recommend this place and we will not be back.
Forest Haven Stay
Main problem was that the bathroom wasnt working. On the day of our arrival we had to drive 15 min to use a mc.donalds bathroom, Owners said it was due to rain and they couldnt fix problem if it continued because it was out of their hands. They tried fixing toilet but it continued to be a problem the entire stay. They said they could find a different place for us to stay which wasnt ideal because we paid over $800 to stay in that specific area. They did not offer to reimburse any money for the inconvenience. Other than that, the stay was nice.
So sorry to hear that the toilet continued to be a problem. We had no idea. Next time, please let the owner know. We are glad you had a good stay otherwise!
Exactly as advertised. Beautiful secluded hideaway. Close to beaches and hiking trails.
Off the beaten path but still close to everything. Clean cozy and private.
