This was a great place to stay over New Year, the agents were very accommodating and left the keys for us to pick up on the way from airport as it was after business hours. They also arrange for a taxi to fetch us from the airport. The apartment was exactly the same as the pictures on the website, clean, modern and very spacious. A lovely area within walking distance of London Bridge tube station. Thanks for a great stay Ivy Lettings.
We are very grateful you took the time to review this home - we hope we can welcome you back to London soon.
All the best,
The Ivy Team
We stayed at the Tower Bridge property. The pics and description don't do the property justice. It was brilliant...fantastic...awesome...comfortable...relaxing. The property was everything you want.
We loved cooking in the kitchen...opening the windows for a cool breeze...sitting on the porch and people watching...relaxing after a day of London. We also enjoyed our walks along the Thames and going to the Borough Market. And if you don't want to cook there are plenty of restaurants right around the corner.
There were five of us...including grandparents. We had plenty of space. Nobody felt crowded. It was very nice having two bathrooms...big comfortable bathrooms.
Walk along the Thames...walk over Tower Bridge into London..the Borough Market is right up the street (fantastic place!)..Italian restaurant that was delish...the area is gorgeous at night with all the lights.
Ivy Lettings was fantastic to deal with. Had no problems at all with them. When we go to London again we will definitely use Ivy Lettings.
Thank you so much for leaving this extensive and informative report of your recent trip.
We are all delighted you had such a good time and hope to welcome you back to London soon!
All the best for now,
From Ivy Lettings
Shad Thames was not always the bustling hurly-burly of cosmopolitan sophistication and joie de vivre with which it is now synonymous. Completely the opposite in fact: it was originally a haven of bucolic charm, consisting of a large riparian field upon which horses and cattle grazed in pastoral tranquillity. However, during the industrial revolution of the nineteenth century, this Arcadia was turned on its head, as large warehouses were built in which to store teas, coffee and fine spices imported from all over the Empire. The scent of spice still lingers on in the evocative names of the now converted buildings: Tamarind, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Fennel, Ginger, Cumin, Coriander and Anise, to list but a few. Nowadays, the chimney sweeps and street urchins of Dickens’ London have been replaced by City workers and young professionals – this really is the place to be. The renowned Pont de la Tour restaurant is a few minutes away, and well worth a visit, while the Design Museum is on your doorstep. A little down river, you will find the Tate Modern, and almost rubbing shoulders, Shakespeare’s Globe, where you can spend many a happy summer evening under the stars, transported to the Forest of Arden, Egypt, or the Blasted Heath by the eternal strains of the Bard. Tower Bridge is a stone’s throw from the property, and this iconic London landmark spans the Thames with impressive majesty – dull would he be of soul who could pass it by! The Tower of London, erstwhile prison and palace, stands colossal against the London horizon, and rings with the echoes of the great, the good and the wicked that people Britain’s history. This is well worth a visit; the ceremony of the keys takes place every night to this day; the crown jewels lie bewitchingly, restored from the thieving hands of the sanguine criminal, Colonel Blood; guided tours will give you a fascinating and unforgettable insight into the country’s history, and ravens daily hold their raucous parliament. All in all, an experience not to be missed… This property is within convenient walking distance from multiple grocery stores, ATM's and charming little coffee shops, the greatest draw is the proximity to the fabulous and unique Borough Market. The nearest tube station is Tower Hill, allowing easy access to the rest of London and a 15 minute journey to the West End.
