The flat we rent is very nice and moreover, at 30 seconds from the Duomo! I suggest this apartment if you desire visiting Florence due to its ideal position!
We were with our 2 childrens and Lorenzo is a very nice and sympathic person! Very honest and he takes time to give us some advice concerning the restaurant and others.
We had lot of pleasure! Thanks for all Lorenzo!
Attilio is a great apartment! It is our home of choice in Florence and we have been happy to have many repeat visits. The apartment is exactly as shown on the website. It is clean with fresh bedding and extremely secure. It is central and so easy to return to during the day - pop back for lunch, a few moments rest or just to drop off some shopping. It is only a couple of hundred steps from the Uffizi, the Duomo, Bargello. Not only that, in the very street there is a supermarket, the best gelateria, stunning bakery, wine and cheese and maybe 30 steps away is a fish shop and the most beautiful fruit and vegetable businesses you will ever find. It is a great apartment in a great location - Lorenzo is a perfect host - and for every reason mentioned already - and more - we go back and back and back and always will.
We were met at the apartment by Lorenzo, a delightful gentleman who manages the property for the owners. Lorenzo was prompt and extremely helpful in describing the features of the apartment as well as information about the city and neighborhood. The photos are entirely representative of the property.
The apartment is in an old, rehabilitated building and is classy, clean and in very good repair. There is a small elevator which is the only way to get from the front door of the building (at street level) to the apartment. The apartment is located on a street with lots of shops and restaurants. There was never much of an issue with street noise. Security in the apartment and in the area seems very good.
Upstairs is a loft bedroom that is quite spacious but due to a large (low) beam, lacks headroom. I had to be a bit careful at night but it was not a big deal.
The kitchen is well equipped including an Italian coffee maker. The living area was comfortable with a couple of large windows looking out over the street. There is a comfortable pull-out couch. There were additional windows in the kitchen and loft bedroom. Ventilation and air-conditioning were certainly adequate during our warm weather stay.
The apartment is conveniently located south of the Arno River, between the Duomo and the Uffizzi gallery. I would not hesitate to stay at this apartment again in the future.
My family of 5 had a week long stay at the Attilio Apartment in May. It far exceeded our expectations for a Firenze holiday! The apartment is very comfortable for 5 (we have 3 kids, ages 11, 14 and 16 - they shared the upstairs loft and my husband and I slept on the futon in the main living area) and is well cared for and especially clean. Having a functional kitchen was very useful for making a meal in the residence as we enjoyed buying new items at the local market nearby. Upon check-in, Lorenzo spent quite a while with us explaining the apartment, laundry, elevator and keys, as well as gave us a map with ideas for interests for various members of our family.
The location of the apartment was the best part. Just about a 2 minute walk to the Duomo and on a cute street with a market and other local shops and restaurants, gelato, bakery,...etc. It is a quiet and secure building and we only heard street noise on the Friday night we stayed as there is a tavern nearby that apparently draws a night crowd. Our children however, did not hear the noise up in the loft.
We walked to all the local attractions with the exception of a bus trip up to Fiesole one day which was well worth it the time for more beautiful views of Tuscany.
In all we spent 16 days in Italy at 4 different accomodations and Attilio was by far the favorite for our family. Florence is a beautiful walking city and cannot be beat! Lorenzo surprised us with a beautiful momento from Florence and we have treasured our memories there. We would absolutely recommend Attilio to others and hope to return there some day soon!
We arrived in Florence on Mother's Day at the conclusion of a 15 night transatlantic crossing from Miami. This was our first time booking thru VRBO. Since I had relied completely on the reviews in selecting an apartment, I was a little nervous about what to expect. "The Attilio" was a very pleasant surprise and even nicer and more convenient than any of the reviews or photos had conveyed. Our family gives it two thumbs up! Thank you, Lorenzo, for a wonderful 9 night stay in Florence - we will be back! Ciao!
As others before me have written, Lorenzo was extremely helpful. He asked what we wished to do and provided us with some guidance. My hope was to consume as much Pecorino cheese and risotto as I could find accompanied by vino della casa. Very easy to complete this mission given the location.
Great location and easy to get around on foot. We loved the accessibility of the market steps from our door. The apartment with the refrigerator was a plus. Comfortable bed, essentials provided in the bathroom.
We would recommend this apartment and renting through Lorenzo again. Many thanks!
The apartments are located 50 meters from Via dei Calzaiuoli, the road that connects Piazza Duomo to Piazza della Signoria, elegant street famous for its leather shops, typical products of Florence and Tuscany.
There are many shops that are along the way: from crafts to designer shops, bars, pizza cut, winemakers, optical, telephony, jewelers, many shoe stores .....
and also bakeries, banks and money exchange shops.
