Our family had a very relaxing stay in Waterland. The cottage was perfect for us! Very comfortable. We played lots of board games, especially MasterMind, which I haven't played since I was a teenager! And my daughter spent a lot of time on the trampoline!
It was so refreshing to bike to the grocery store, and around the beautiful, scenic surroundings. And we all loved the wildlife that greeted us every day. We used Uber one day to get downtown, and the train (a 45 minute walk) to get downtown.
We would definitely stay again!
Beautiful house right outside the city
Beautiful, peaceful retreat located right outside the city. Wonderful view of the rural landscape on a canal. We had a great stay and the hosts were wonderful. I highly recommend staying here.
secluded spot outside the City
Beautiful spot about 15 minutes from the Center of Amsterdam by car. Spotless accommodations, a narrow staircase that seems to be popular in Europe, and very hospitable hosts. On a canal near a farm, very private and a nice break from the hubbub of Central City Amsterdam. Would recommend highly.
Thank you, Dear Michael and family! Hope you had a Wonderful time in Europe, warm regards from (now) sunny Durgerdam
We really enjoyed staying here. The cottage is in a beautiful neighborhood. It was a few minutes outside the city and very near the subway. Our hosts were very kind and helpful.
Charming cottage with all the modern amenities.
We had a very enjoyable stay. Too short. Richard is a gracious and helpful host. The house is about 15 minutes outside of Amsterdam central in an idyllic village with 400 year old homes. Situated on a dyke and overlooking a serene landscape it was the perfect retreat after a busy day in the city. Thanks for everything Richard! We will see you again should we ever return to your beautiful city!
Thank you so much for writing us such a lovely review! We hope to see you once again. All the best xx R&R
Lovely Vacation Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this bright, and tastefully designed vacation home. There were plenty of towels, nice rain shower in the bathroom, and the beds and linens are very comfortable. Our son loved the trampoline in the yard, and we enjoyed using the Nespresso-type machine in the kitchen daily for our coffee. The garden area is a great place to enjoy morning coffee and breakfast while you plan your day in Amsterdam. The internet is fast and reliable for that planning. We depended on Uber to get into the city, as the home is a little more out-there than we expected, but if you rent a car or bikes, you can easily get to the tram to commute in (otherwise it is around 30 minutes to walk to the tram). One other note, we were told the bus stop is no longer at the house. Sandra, who was staying at the main house during our stay, was a huge help, (she even brought us to the grocery store the day of our arrival), and Ruth responded right away to our texts. Amsterdam can get pretty crowded, so coming home to this relaxing space was definitely welcome at the end of a long day of sightseeing. All in all it was an excellent trip and staying at this lovely home made it even better. Thank you Ruth and Richard! Ps. The Escape Game at the Rijks Museum is a must-do if they are offering it, and Indonesian food at Blue Pepper was amazing! We loved our stay!
Wow! That is a verrrry nice review!! Thank you so much Erin & family. We will go and try your dinner and Rijksmuseum tips as well, haha! :-))
