This Lodge was built by Master craftsman Jay Thornley. It was built from the wood of an 100 year old factory. This lumber was sent to a mill and refinished to create this one of a kind property. It is a magical place built to the highest standards. It boasts 3000 sq.feet of indoor living with a 1000sq ft deck. There is a covered porch and balcony off the Master bedroom. Huge great room ,wonderful kitchen with porcelain farm sink , copper fixtures , saltillo tile floor, thermador range. Custom built bar with vintage saddle stools. You'll marvel over the 9' wood plank floors in the great room and all the bedrooms. All the woodwork has the patina of a lodge from the era of the famed Adirondack Lodges. That coupled with all the modern day comforts you would expect. It has 3 beautiful rock fireplaces ( wood burning )to create just the right ambiance.
But most importantly this lodge sits on the Snake River. With 800 feet of river frontage on 12 beautiful acres. It is just over the Teton Pass from Jackson Hole. All rooms view the river and the Majestic MT. Baldy. It is one of the most precious fisheries in the world. Home to the native cutthroat, lunker german browns , and acrobatic rainbows. If you are a fly fisherman this is truly nirvana. Launch a boat from our gently slopping banks or have a river guide pick you up right outside. Any number of world class guides from the area can assist you on a fishing trip. Of course this area is also home of the famed South Fork Lodge ( owned by Mark Rockefeller). And if fishing is not your thing than maybe being able to almost reach up and touch the stars of our Milky way galaxy might be the stimulation you desire. Whatever it is you will remember this place

I am avid fly fisherman with a young family. We have enjoyed many special times with extended family at the Lodge. Where bonding and memories were experienced that will never be forgotten
marc baxis purchased this house in 2000
I had this custom lodge built in 2000. I bought the property in 1990 back when larger parcels were still available on the Snake River in Swan Valley. So it is one of the few larger sites on the River...I was actually headed to explore Montana and Wyoming by myself with my dog. It was the end of the day and I was tired from driving...as I descended into a small valley town high in the mountains I was awestruck by a beautiful sunset and decided I would stay at the next place I came to ...It was the Southfork Lodge then owned By Spence and Linda Warner. Basically a rustic but highly acclaimed destination for the most serious fly fisherman...I woke after spending a great evening with the guides and Spence and Linda and grabbed my rod and waded the banks and had an incredible fishing experience...witnessing Bald Eagles, Ospreys and a Moose...after coming back to the Lodge I inquired to Spence if there were any riverfront parcels for sale...he sent me on a journey to the backside of the River where I found a 12 acre parcel that suited me...I purchased it before I left for home ...and there you have the abbreviated version....
I love the 3 wood burning fireplaces....nothing creates the warmth of crackling fires. The 6 foot tub in the Master Bedroom and french doors that open to the private deck that overlooks the River and Valley has been the setting for many wildlife sightings
Lovely property. Owner was very accommodating. Next time we are staying longer!
This was a very nice home to base our daily trips out of to Jackson, Yellowstone and Genny Lake.
It was clean, inviting, charming and perfect for our group in all ways.
It is open concept and rooms are comfortable. Marc was very easy to work with and we will be referring our friends here as well.
Thank you Marc for sharing your beautiful Lodge with us!
It was a great place to host our family reunion of 10 adults! We had a lot of room without feeling on top of each other. The huge deck was a hit for all evening meals and star gazing.
There are numerous outdoor activities close by to choose from or if you prefer to do nothing, relaxing by the river in a hammock with a book can not be beat.
Marc is a great a host. He quickly responds to any inquiries a guest may have and makes you feel very welcome.
If our group is ever back in this area, we will be sure to stay here again.
A lot of fun and beautiful memories were made here!
Thank you again, Marc!
With our group of individuals, all committed to fishing one of the finest rivers in the PNW, this property proved to be ideal. Easy access to the river and the boat launches and take outs, our days were efficient and productive. Relaxation and comfort awaited us at the days end with all amenities necessary to recharge for the next day. Property offered ample parking (even with drift boats), home offered space for all individuals and, most of all, a serene environment for relaxation and achieving a level of comfort. I will need to return to explore the hiking, Jackson and the other surrounding attractions. Owner was exceptional in answering questions with quick response and accurate information. I look forward to returning to this outstanding home and location.
Beautiful setting that cannot be beat. This spacious property was great for our extended family, with bedrooms on 2 separate floors. There is so much to do in the area - and the owners have provided plenty of information. It was great to come home to this lodge after the day's adventures.
Our two families of 6 adults and 3 children from ages 5 to 99 just returned from one of our most memorable VRBO trips to date. The home is a treasure of gorgeous yet homey design on a property boasting gorgeous riverfront with fire pit, mountains, and starry starry skies. We went horseback riding, river floating, white water rafting, fly fishing, Yellowstone National Park, and went to an authentic small town rodeo! We wished we had booked for 3-4 more days because we were not ready to leave. The owners are easy communicators and their own exuberance for their property is omnipresent in their cozy yet spacious home and expansive grounds. There are many recommendations provided for anything you want to do including grocery shopping and eating out. We ate all of our breakfasts and dinners at home due to the beauty of the property, deck, and great room with expansive gorgeous views. Even rain did not deter us from enjoying every adventure! I cannot say enough how beautiful it is at the property and surrounding areas. Thank you Marc and Linda for hosting us!
Owner will assist in setting up guided fishing trips or horseback trips into the local mountains
