|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Set in a 5-acre private wooded park this recently modernised chalet is light and airy and enjoys stunning views of the Mediterranean towards Cannes and the Isles D'Hyeres and is perfect for alfresco dining on the south facing terrace. With security gates, private parking below and a large shared swimming pool, the property is a unique jewel in the Cote D'Azur.
Designed as an exclusive resort by an Italian during the late 1980s, the chalet is perched in the hills above Golfe Juan, close to the town of Vallauris (Picasso's pottery period). The marina and beaches of Golfe Juan are nearby, as is the station with frequent connections along the coast.
Activities in the area include: golf, fishing, cycling, hill walking, stunning coastal walks such as St Jean Cap Ferrart and Cap d'Antibes, mountaineering, horse riding, diving, wind surfing, kite surfing and skiing is a 90 minute drive away, Dec - April. Also there are lots of villages, museums and restaurants nearby.
My husband and I brought our house in 2002 and have been renting it ever since as well as spending 6 weeks of the year there enjoying it ourselves. We run our own business and it's our piece of heaven where we go to relax and unwind and enjoy the view from our decking and go to our favourite places.
Nicky Pharoah purchased this chalet in 2002
Our house in in an incredible location. Cannes and Antibes are 10 minutes away, Moncao 40 minutes and Nice 20 minutes. It is very central for exploring the South of France and the Riveria with its stunning coastlines and medieval villages.
The view from our terrace is stunning overlooking the sea and at night with the all the lights it is very special. The town of Vallauris is famous for Picasso and the pottery he did here and you can meander through the streets enjoying the restaurants and bars plus two very nice chocolate shops!
Judy and David Levenson Stayed August 2005
Dear Nicky and Colin We came home (reluctantly) last Sunday after spending the most wonderful week in your apartment. The weather was just perfect, unbroken sunshine throughout. We could see why you made the investment - the view from your terrace at night is enchanting, just as we imagined from the internet photo. When you next travel there, you can read about our exploits in your visitors book. In the meantime thank you for a really great time - we hope to be back soon. Best wishes Judy and David Levenson PS Christine was most helpful and gave us very good service.
The property was clean & comfortable and does have wonderful views. The owner was most efficient, friendly and considerate as was the "greeter" at the property.
It is good for complete relaxation on the south facing deck or use as a base to explore the Cote d'Azur.
Locally Vallauris & Golfe Juan are worth exploring.
A car is essential or be prepared for a demanding descent to and climb back from the excellent coastal rail and bus connections.
All-in-all a really good holiday but not for the faint-hearted.
Would certainly consider renting again and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Ideal for two people, a bit of a squash with more. A quiet area but only a few minutes into the bustle with a car (Cannes, Vallauris etc.). Lovely view from the terrace, take your mosquito spray in the summer.
My second stay in two years while attending the Cannes Film Festival.
Positives: Perfect location (just 20 mins from the Croisette by car), quiet yet close to village of Vallauris/ supermarket etc, secure complex, friendly neighbours, comfy main bed, clean.
Negatives: Not at all big enough for 4 adults (we were 3 and it felt cramped at times, so probably best for a small/ young family or couple), no wi-fi (essential if you are there during any Cannes work-related event) and lastly, can quickly smell a bit mouldy.
The last point needs to be qualified: a) I think the property is probably under-used and hence does not get aired too often in off-season, b) we had torrential rain while staying there which did not help.
Overall, no major issues. Will certainly consider making it a third year in a row for next year's festival.
We stayed at this villa in August 2011 for a week and just booked another 10 days in late July. The villa and surroundings met, if not exceeded, expectations. The interiors are simple, functional but above all clean and contemporary, with a complete kitchen not lacking in any type of utensil to prepare lovely meals for you and your family.Just moments away from the town where you can buy anything needed for your stay, this villa is a 20 min drive to Cannes if you feel the need for some activities (day or night) or 30 mins from Antibes for a change of scenery. The gulf of Juan its self (10 mins away) is filled with charming little restaurants and bars next to beach.
All in all this is a perfect way to spend a week in the sun, in one of the busiest european getaways in a charming, relaxing atmosphere.
We stayed here while attending the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and found it perfect - away from the hustle and bustle of the fest, but close enough to get o the Croisette in about 15-20 minutes (car needed)
Quiet, secluded, secure, friendly neighbours and a well appointed, compact chalet. Ideal for 2-3 adults or a small family. Great pool too.
We spent 2 weeks (it was to short) in Nicky's house this summer and we appreciate the location, the equipment, the quiet of the place.
Cette location est d'un excellent rapport qualité/prix et très bien équipée
The chalet is centrally located (20 minute drive from Nice Airport) and nearby Golf Juan (5 minute drive to chalet) has a train station that runs trains all along the coast. There is a lot to easily explore such as the medieval hilltop villages at Mougins, Eze and St Paul de Vence, museums dedicated to Picasso, Chagall, Matisse, the glass blowers at Biot, the Rothchild Villla on the Cap Ferrart, Monaco and its fascinating palace and famous Grand Prix in June (Monoco is a 1 hour drive max or a 30 minute train journey where you are dropped off at a central point). Nice is a great place to visit as is Cannes and a drive up into the Alps is spectacular. Come at the end of January and see the amazing Historic Monte Carlo Rally over the Alps or the Historic Monaco Grand Prix in May. There is plenty for the kids too such as swimming, zoos, farms and boating lakes. Or just lounge by the pool or at the nearby beach at Golf Juan. There is lots of information about activities at the chalet.
Other Activities: Vallauris is famous for Picasso's pottery and there are numerous visitor attractions.
