I stayed at Casa Tres Palmas 4 times in the last 2 years and will be going back in June 2009. The house and location are great--the bedrooms are situated in such a way as to allow maximum privacy and the pool is a great way to end a long day at the beach or relax after a day of sight seeing. The house is very clean and well-maintained. It is situated on a hill that gives one privacy and since it is near the road to Manual Antonio, everything between Quepos and the beach are easily accessible. The house manager, Tom, is excellent and always willing to answer questions and help make tour arrangements. I usually only rent a car for a few days and then use cabs the other days. Cabs are plentiful and one can always catch a cab about 500 ft from the house. I would also suggest that you ask a few cab drivers for either their cards or private phone numbers as they are more than willing to pick you up at the house. I like eating at small Tico style restaurants as one gets the best food and value.
We spent 5 days in Casa 3 Palmas, each one with different activities, and always enjoying the house and the pool when coming back "home" in the afternoon. Tom, the house manager, welcomed us when we arrived and did more than would be expected to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. His help and recommendations were very much appreciated, thank you !
This house was quite old but in good condition except for the kitchen cabinets which were in need of some TLC.
Tom out manager was very good and helped us get settled in and drove us around showing us good places to eat and shop, he came by almost everyday to see if we needed anything.
The pool was great and got lots of use.
Restaurants were not nearby and a taxi or bus was needed, this was an added expense.
We personally would not stay here again due to the constant noise as the house is very close to the main road with a lot of road noise and to add to that dogs barked and roosters crowed a lot.
We would recommend this property to friends and relatives only if they were prepared to deal with the noise, a quiet peaceful location this is not.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and it wasn't long enough. The house was perfect for us. Every morning I was floating (bring pool floaties) in the pool by 7 am with my coffee and listening to music on my headphones. Perfect "my time". Tom the house manager was AWESOME! He will take you around town and show you places to shop and eat. If you go with Tom take pen and paper and take notes. We are already discussing returning in March.
Casa Palmas truly earned this 5-star rating. The trip far exceeded my expectations.
The villa is charming and has all the amenities including a lovely pool. All great to come home to after a full day at the beach watching hang gliders (or being a hang glider). We took two day trips by boat. The one I especially liked was thru the mangroves where you'll see a Jesus lizard in action, lots of birds and probably be entertained by a few monkeys. I especially appreciated the knowledgeable guides. Steve was great to deal with as we made our plans to stay at Case Palmas. Tom was terrific. He made sure we were doing activities we would enjoy. There's so much more to say about our stay. I guess the best testament is that I didn't have a worry in the world while I was there. I'm telling my friends and family about it for sure.

A friend and I spent a week at this villa this month. It was everything we hoped for and more. As others have pointed out, Tom the manager provides all of the information needed in order to decide on tours, restaurants, activities and shopping. I like that this is located near the town of Quepos and beaches and Manuel Antonio Land Preserve. From monkeys, to rare birds, to iguanas and geikos - we were enchanted. The sunsets from Ronny's Place were complemented by the great food served there and the warmth of the owner and servers. If you go, don't miss the Vanilla Plantation and the farmer's market on the Sea Wall.
With exotic beaches and impressive mountains, Manuel Antonio is nestled along a lofty hill of tropical forest on the Pacific coast. Above and below the winding main road between Quepos and the National Forest, dozens of resort hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops and amenities line the route down to the beaches. It is a thriving mix of hospitality tucked in lush, unpolished remoteness. Casa Tres Palmas is located in the community of Pajaro Azul. It is the 1st house on the right. Conveniently located, you are still a world away in a land of palm trees, parrots and monkeys - ready for leisure or adventure in this eco-friendly part of Costa Rica.
Other Activities: canopy tours, hang gliding, dance club
