I stayed at Casa Tres Palmas 4 times in the last 2 years and will be going back in June 2009. The house and location are great--the bedrooms are situated in such a way as to allow maximum privacy and the pool is a great way to end a long day at the beach or relax after a day of sight seeing. The house is very clean and well-maintained. It is situated on a hill that gives one privacy and since it is near the road to Manual Antonio, everything between Quepos and the beach are easily accessible. The house manager, Tom, is excellent and always willing to answer questions and help make tour arrangements. I usually only rent a car for a few days and then use cabs the other days. Cabs are plentiful and one can always catch a cab about 500 ft from the house. I would also suggest that you ask a few cab drivers for either their cards or private phone numbers as they are more than willing to pick you up at the house. I like eating at small Tico style restaurants as one gets the best food and value.

One Week In Paradise

  • 5 of 5

What a great home to take your vacation, you feel as if you are in your own home. Put your feet up, stay awhile.

The pool was beautiful with plenty of patio space to hang out. While there, we were visited by the locals, a Toucan, a rooster greeting you everyday, Iguanas using the tin roof to catch some rays, birds and monkeys.

Be sure to look at the books the owners supply with suggestions of activities and eateries. The is something for everyone.

The house manager will book any and every adventure you want to try.

You can walk or if walking isn't your thing, you can take taxis into town. There was even pizza delivery, incase you can't drag yourself away from the pool.

We were there for seven days and by day three, I was trying to decide when I was coming back.

I recommend hiring a car and take the drive from San Jose. We missed out connecting flight and had to hire a car. It was the best thing that could have happened.

I would stay here again and again and again.

Wonderful Relaxing Vacation Home

  • 4 of 5

Tres Palmas is a spacious comfortable home just outside of Quepos on the way to the Manuel Antonio National Park. The private pool and lovely landscaped backyard is where we spent the majority of our time while staying at the two bedroom home. There was just the right amount of sunshine and shade so we could be outside from morning coffee to after dinner drinks. Taking all that into consideration, the one deciding amenity that tipped the scales towards renting Tres Palmas was the ever solicitous property manager, Tom. He was in contact with us weeks prior to our arrival with all the information you would need for a great vacation in Manuel Antonio. Tom picked us up at the Quepos airport even though we were an hour late. He toured us around, stopped at the grocery store so we could stock up, and recommended and arranged tours. We literally had a 24 hour concierge, along with optional daily housekeeping. The only downside to the property was the location on the busy main road between Manuel Antonio and Quepos. Although we were quite a distance up from the road, the traffic noise during the day would get loud from time to time. This was not a big factor for us, but it could be for some. Overall, we highly recommend Tres Palmas, send thanks to Howard for sharing his villa with us, and to Tom and his better half Kim for their hospitality and expertise in all things Costa Rica. Pura Vida.

Terrific stay, wonderful house, great location!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days in Casa 3 Palmas, each one with different activities, and always enjoying the house and the pool when coming back "home" in the afternoon. Tom, the house manager, welcomed us when we arrived and did more than would be expected to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. His help and recommendations were very much appreciated, thank you !

Our overall impression if the property was good, could have been better with less noise.

  • 3 of 5

This house was quite old but in good condition except for the kitchen cabinets which were in need of some TLC.

Tom out manager was very good and helped us get settled in and drove us around showing us good places to eat and shop, he came by almost everyday to see if we needed anything.

The pool was great and got lots of use.

Restaurants were not nearby and a taxi or bus was needed, this was an added expense.

We personally would not stay here again due to the constant noise as the house is very close to the main road with a lot of road noise and to add to that dogs barked and roosters crowed a lot.

We would recommend this property to friends and relatives only if they were prepared to deal with the noise, a quiet peaceful location this is not.

Wonderful time!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and it wasn't long enough. The house was perfect for us. Every morning I was floating (bring pool floaties) in the pool by 7 am with my coffee and listening to music on my headphones. Perfect "my time". Tom the house manager was AWESOME! He will take you around town and show you places to shop and eat. If you go with Tom take pen and paper and take notes. We are already discussing returning in March.
