About Randy and Beth Dillon
My wife and I moved to the Asheville area in 1992. We adore the mountains so much, that we decided to build a log home at the lake. We loved it so much that we could not share this alone. Our kids enjoy the lake during the summer months. We like to hike, camp, and bike as a family. This neighborhood where the cabin is located is great for all of these outdoor events. We know you will love our cabin as much as we do. Take care, Randy, Beth, Jared and Kaleigh.

Why Randy and Beth Dillon chose Lake Lure
This property was once a youth camp. It has many features that bring back that feeling of being at 'camp'. Some of the orignial buildings are still there (the horse barn, the mess hall, the recreation hall, and some of the cabins). The swim area is wide-open and beautiful. It is set back just a bit from the big open lake and is a nicer place to swim and lay on the raft than places right on the lake, where the boats or going by. There is a floating dock in the middle, so people can swim out, jump and dive off, or sit and enjoy the beauty from there.

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The location offered alot to see and do in the mountains. Staying in the cabin was fun as well. Very spacious and homey. I will definitely visit again in the future.
Family Get Together
Great cabin and fun location, Everything you ever needed was there. Did some grilling on the back deck. Comfortable cabin. Great place for family to meet from 3 states to share memories and fun times. Great communication with owners which made renting this cabin so easy. If ever in the Lake Lure area will definitely contact the owners for another family stay. Thank you
Great family getaway
Our family of 5, with 3 kids 6 and under, loved this cabin! Big outdoor space to run and explore and a quick walk to the lake for kayaking or swimming was fantastic for my energetic trio! Appreciated all the kid stuff too, like high chair, toys and books. Made it much easier as traveling with small kids can be challenging! My kids loved there was even a waffle maker and thought that was such a treat! Best stocked kitchen ever made it a true home away from home. Big back and front porches were great for sitting and relaxing after the kids went to bed. Would definitely recommend staying here and I hope we will be back!
Cozy cabin made for a family get-together.
Pros: Lake Lure access, Chimney Rock State Park, mountain views, altitude, furnishings
Cons: Inadequately silverware for six, nanny notes everywhere, slow internet, worn out and improperly cleaned cookware.
We are glad you enjoyed the Pros. To address the Cons, we counted silverware once you left and there are more than six of each knives, forks, big spoons, little spoons. We orignially purchased 8 - 12 of each, so today we bought more to correct the loss. The notes were placed after being repeatedly asked these questions by guests. We wanted them to know: 1) where the trash room is located, 2) how to check-out kayaks, 3) if they keep bedroom doors closed the rooms will stay cool in summer - warm in winter, 4) feel free to leave useable food items in frig. 5) Text if you check-out early (this helps guests who often ask to check-in early). 6) Keep front door closed - to keep animals out. (a neighbor had a bear go in their house; we only had a cat run in). Yes, internet can sometimes be slow, due to the mountains and local factors; we provide the best service offered. I wish we would had known about the cookware. We have new items stored in the cabin and could have had you switch it out. Thanks for your feedback; it helps make things right.
Paradise on The lake
My family stayed here for three nights and had the best time ever. We made many memories wether it was swimming in the cool lake out to the floating dock, exploring the beautiful waterfall right down the street from the house and on the way to the lake access, or sitting on the porch and just taking everything the cabin had to offer. The gas grill and use of the kayak were great amenities that my family truly enjoyed. The house is beautiful and beautifully decorated for a log cabin. I can’t say anything negative about our experience. We also checked out cedar creek stables and did and hour horse back ride, DuPont state park, hooker falls, and Hendersonville. We had an amazing time and hope to come back many more times!!!!!
Short Family Stay
As we were leaving my husband and I both said “I wish we could stay one more day!”. We felt right at home - everything and more was provided! Our two year old really enjoyed it! We will be back 😊
