About Chris and Rob
We are a local couple that are fortunate to live next door to our holiday let and so are fully aware of the perfect location of the property. It has only since we bought the house that we have realised just what is available to visitors to the local area and why so many people book with us. When you grow up in an area sometimes you do not see what is right in front of you! We put a lot of energy and effort into ensuring that our guests enjoy the experience of staying at our property from initial contact right through to the end of their stay. We are on hand to assist but not interfere and queries are answered as quickly as possible. Our philosophy is straightforward - create a place that we would love to stay ourselves. And we believe we have succeeded as our reviews will confirm so please take a minute to read them - even our 4* reviewers loved the property and its offerings!
Chris and Rob purchased this House in 2011

A wonderful weekend
A really lovely house located in a quiet rural location. Just what we needed. A superb house that was just perfect for the 9 of us. Loads of room and a great place in which to relax and have fun. Really handy for Cardiff. The local pub is a gem also. Had a great time,
Derwen Fawr was ideal for our group of 6 ladies staying 3 nights for let’s rock wales.
Rob & Chris were really helpful with any info we needed and provided us with a well received welcome basket of milk, eggs, juice, bread etc
The pub restaurant next door is highly recommended. Overall a great stay. Location is beautiful but you do need a car.
Thanks for leaving your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, the pub and the concert in Newport!
Large surprisingly rural house
Eight of us stayed in this spacious airy home over the Easter weekend. We were blessed with lovely weather and took full advantage of the lovely sunny patio area and using the well equipped kitchen. The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean. Knowing a baby was going to visit, Chris and Rob even supplied a baby bath as well as a starter pack of all the food basics...very thoughtful! The situation is very rural, up quite a narrow lane, but literally only 15 minutes drive from all that Newport and Cardiff have to offer. We went on a lovely walk from the suggested guide in the house, there are many nearby. We were all family but just be aware that only one of the spacious bathrooms upstairs had a shower, that would be solved by paying the additional for the downstairs annexe. Also as Chris mentioned when we arrived the pub next door likes to take bookings at weekends and only for tables seating six max. They therefore turned us away on Friday night, their loss not ours... the ten of us and baby had a superb meal at the nearby Beefeater, helpful pleasant staff there!
Thanks Chris and Rob for a lovely stay!
Hey Sam - thank you for the review. We are pleased you had a good time - and the weather was great over the Easter weekend!
It is a disappointment that the pub could not cater for you and as you say it's their loss not yours!
We hope that you will come back to visit us again
