Amazing Mountain View, Kayaks For Use In Area Lake, Best Water Fall (<1 mi)
Why Betty Achord chose Rosman
History & Story of “Point of View” Back in 1980, parents (Charlotte and Al) of one of the owners decided, with 3 of their 6 children out of college, they just might be able to afford a little get-away in the mountains. Charlotte and Al drove from their home in Florida and stayed at a friend’s “Little Red Cabin”. They looked at property and decided Line Runner Ridge was perfect. The next year, they contacted a builder, who drew the plan on a napkin and built the shell of the cabin. The folks were DIY-ers, and every vacation was spent working on their Mountain House. They finished the inside (upstairs) themselves. They made the doors, curtains, kitchen cabinet, painted. It was a labor of love and a break from the Florida heat. As it happened, Ruth and Glen bought property on the very top of the ridge the same day Charlotte and Al bought theirs. Both couples built houses in 1981, and so began a beautiful friendship.Whenever the folks came up, Glen would come knocking on the door to get Al. They would start at 7 in the morning and quit about 5 in the evening, working, working, working. In the early 2000s, current owners (Nancy and Betty) came for a visit. They LOVED the mountain house, the views, the area, everything! They immediately started looking for property. Luckily, they were able to acquire property in the area and built their cabin. Now 4 of Charlotte and Al’s children have property on this ridge… and … 2 of Ruth and Glen’s children have property on this ridge. Second generation special friendships continue today. As for “Point of View”, Charlotte and Al built the garage in 2011 and finished the basement in 2014. Charlotte stayed in the cabin until she moved to Brevard. She still comes to spend the night with her daughters on the mountain. Nancy couldn’t bear for the cabin to be sold, so the decision was made to share “Point of View”. We hope you can feel our love for “Point of View”, and enjoy your time on our Beautiful Ridge.

The Point of View....An awesome place to be!!
We stumbled across this beautiful place in August of last year. And our first experience has put a forever place in our hearts. If you are wanting to get away for a place that feels like home away from home., a place that makes you feel welcoming and on top of that the view.... the view.... all I can say is WOW. Even though it rained we got the r&r we deserved. We also love to see some of the art work from Gwen and others “sooo talented”. Again Nancy and Betty y’all did it once again😊 Thank y’all for making us feel like family.
Magical Mountain Cabin
If you are looking for a plain and ordinary mountain cabin vacation, then you may want to look elsewhere.
But if you have your heart set on an extra-ordinary experience, then please read on!
To say that pictures do not do justice to POINT OF VIEW cabin is an understatement. Our expectations were high, and then we walked in the door and were moved to tears by the beauty of the cabin and the majesty of the ever changing mountain view
Arriving at Point of View and entering through the front door was a unique and wonderful experience. It felt like going back to a time when life moved more slowly, and hearts were lighter. You are immediately taken by the magnificent mountains visible through the multitude of large windows across the back of the cabin. Combine that with the rustic interior meticulously decorated with vintage pieces, the perfect lighting touches, and bluegrass music softly playing in the background. Conjure images of home, comfort, warmth, and relaxation and you’ll understand what it feels like to walk through that door.
There is something very special behind Point of View. More gracious hosts than Nancy and Betty would be hard to find. They are the heart behind this magical place, each as warm and welcoming as the cabin itself. There is nothing they didn’t think of to ensure your absolute comfort and enjoyment. The attention to detail is phenomenal as they anticipate everything you could possibly need. As if the cabin itself were not enough of a gift, Nancy and Betty prepared a beautiful welcome basket with lots of delicious treats for us AND for our dog! The basket even included warm, toasty socks for those chilly evenings when you are snuggled up on the comfy couch next to the fire.
The surrounding area is a treasure trove of natural beauty, and Nancy and Betty have gone out of their way to arm their guests with knowledge to ensure a perfect vacation. From restaurants and shopping to waterfalls and hiking, everything is documented in a handy guidebook. There are also plenty of brochures for local attractions to provide additional details.
If you are planning a trip to the Brevard area we highly recommend a stay at Point of View!
Thank you Nancy and Betty from the bottom of our hearts,
Dana, Susan and Scout
An amazing Point of View
Our second visit to this wonderful cabin, looking forward to number three. Great house, views, and location. Many beautiful waterfalls within an hours drive. Google "Land of Waterfalls."
Overall wonderful place to visit
Nancy & Betty have thought of pretty much everything... from the moment you walk into their wonderful homey cabin with music, flickering candles (battery no worries!) and porch string lights, you feel like you are walking into a storybook. Attention to all the details, helpful information throughout the cabin, a sweet goodies basket and fresh eggs to welcome you. The area is beautiful, feels like you are all on your own up in the trees and clouds. Scenery, hiking with waterfalls galore, ambiance and time together- what more could you ask for!
This is a charming mountain cabin with beautiful vistas. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. When we entered there was mountain music playing to welcome us, a basket full of goodies and faux candles throughout to set the mood. Nice touches all. Thank you for sharing.
While all of the attractions listed are very accessible, none are within 15 minutes. The cabin is tucked away on a mountain ridge along rural hwy 178. It is delightfully private and quiet but within easy driving distance to numerous attractions and activities.
The Brevard area is known for its music, craft beers and quaint ambiance.
