About Raymond Millar

The property is owned by us Emma & Raymond Millar, we are originally from Scotland and currently live in the Middle East. We have been in Dubai, UAE for over 5 years now and work in IT and in Oil & Gas. Emma spent her childhood summer holidays in France and it has been a dream of theirs to own a traditional French house with view of the countryside.

Raymond Millar purchased this house in 2012

Why Raymond Millar chose Garrigues-Sainte-Eulalie

With our busy lifestyle in Dubai, we were looking for a 'pied a terre' in France, where we could invite our friends and relax with good food and wine, but also have access to some of the fabulous sites and cites in this part of the Mediterranean.

'Tigh Chéilidh' or ‘The Meeting Place’ was renovated back 2009, and whilst it retains the character and eccentricities of an older property, it also has all the mod cons. The house boasts a master suite with en-suite bathroom as well as a large double and single bedroom with a bathroom to share; and there is a spacious and secluded garden, that is ideal for enjoying a good book or barbecuing. Ideally located on the outskirts of the village, there are magnificent views of the French countryside that can be enjoyed from large the roof terrace.

Garrigues-Saint Eulalie Is a charming village 10 minutes drive from the market town of Uzes and 20mins from the Pont du Gard. The village enjoys the benefits of a very good bakery with small shop and 2 restaurants, one that is within easy walking distance. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area including horse riding and visiting some of world’s most famous wineries.

All in all, it fulfils all our wishes and we hope that you will enjoy this fabulous property as much as us!

A wonderful and charming house from which to explore the varied and fascinating area. Wonderful walks along the garrigues, amazing visits to the various local towns, and food to die for (almost literally). We had a wonderful time.

A beautifully presented cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We (two couples) had a wonderful week staying in this cottage. The location is wonderfully quiet and is an easy drive to many attractions in this part of France. We didn't get to enjoy the pool as the weather was a bit on the cool side but would be a wonderful place to kick back after a day out touring. The bedrooms are comfortable with lovely mattresses although if you are like me and very tall you'd best avoid the one up top due to a very large and low beam on the stairs. The main bedroom though is very large and I had no complaints there. The kitchen is very well equipped though with so many good restaurants to be found in the district it might not matter to all. The only thing we noticed missing was a microwave which was not an issue for us.

Overall we were very happy with our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back and do it all again!

Very well equipped and comfortable village house.

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with the house and it's "real" French village location. The accommodation was thoughtfully well equipped and had a pool in a secluded garden. The house is very well located for Uzes and the Pont D Gard. The village has a very good bakery and restaurant. The owners are British and were very helpful even when the upstairs toilet had to be repaired. The only constructive point is that it very hot in July/August. Although fans are provided and windows/shutters will keep the inside relatively cool, we wonder if there is scope to provide air con rental from a local company for those guests who would like it. It is certainly a house and village we would want to return to and will recommend.

Heaven...a perfect holiday home!

  • 5 of 5

The house is wonderful, well presented, maintained and nice and clean. The pool, garden and roof terrace are just perfect! The pool house with it's new bathroom is fab and it's great to have the bikes and barbecue to use. The very comfortable lounge provides a cool retreat after a day in the hot sunshine. The nearby town of Uzes is beautiful, great to wander the streets, visit the market and sit in one of the many cafes or restaurants to watch the world go by... we particularly liked Le Comptoir du 7 for a great meal. The house is in a great location to explore other areas without too much travelling; we enjoyed the amphitheatre in Nimes, the Pont du Gard and also kayaking down to the Pont d'Arc on the Ardeche. The local Bourdic wine is lovely too! The village is quiet but all the neighbours we met were very friendly & welcomed us during Bastille day celebrations. Raymond was brilliant, great communication and very helpful...to the extremes of getting our spare car key couriered back to Scotland for us! We would go back in a heartbeat!

Schönes Haus

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house to relax and enjoy

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house and village so much, that we returned again to have another super holiday in this beautiful area of France. We enjoyed and relaxed again taking advantage of the garden, the pool, sun deck and the roof terrace, just a few of the special features of this charming house, set in a very peaceful and friendly small village. A very high standard of accommodation throughout and extremely well equipped and really comfortable - everything has been thought of and supplied to ensure that you have everything you need for a great holiday. The location is a really good central point to explore different parts of the region, including the Camargue and the coast, as well as being close to Uzes and Nimes. Would highly recommend - a lovely place for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday
