2-room apartment 25 m2 situated at the beginning of the Falaise District (transport / shuttle useless station from parking and loading dock), on the 2nd floor of the residence Le Douchka.

Living room and south-facing balcony with mountain and room on the back to calm.

Avoriaz 1800m is ideally located in the center of the Portes du Soleil (domain altitude of 650 km of slopes). The massive enjoys guaranteed snow from December to April, with an average of 8 meters per winter snowfall. The resort is completely pedestrianized. The views are open to the Dents du Midi, the Dents Blanches ...

Great location - basic hospitality

The apartment is in a great location; Falaise is close to the parking and couldn’t be more ‘ski in ski out’. The apartment is directly above the Chapka bar and was noisy on a couple of occasions but nothing too excessive - the children had a really good bedroom at the back so couldn’t be disturbed.

The apartment is nicely decorated and has a comfy sofa bed, which is really easy to get out and put away.

That said we were disappointed with the communication from the owners; we had to phone on the day we left England, as it says in the contract that the keys will be posted out and we hadn’t received them. We were told that they don’t do it like that anymore and have a key safe on the door. Communication about this, before the day we were leaving, would have definitely reduced anxiety levels!

You will have to provide all towels and bed linen (including tea towels) and there is no hair dryer (something I didn’t pack!). Compared to previous apartments it felt like quite basic hospitality.

The other poor communication came at the end of the stay. We received no communication at all telling us of checkout instructions or hoping we’d had a good stay (all previous owners had done this). There were no particular instructions on the homeaway app or the contract, which we had with us. It turned out that we had missed an important part of the contract, which is very confusing for non French speakers, which, contained in the breakdown of charges at the end, essentially says a clean at the end is optional. We cleaned the flat to leave it in a respectable state (exactly as we have previously and been thanked for how tidy and clean we have left the flat) but were then sent a message when we got back home telling us we had left the flat in such a condition that they had to book an emergency clean and it was a big problem for them as they had a booking at 3pm. This was a shock. We were then charged 75 Euros from our deposit which we did not receive back until the end of March - another miscommunication as they don’t use the homeaway site so you transfer money via bank transfer (this costs you every time you make a payment from the UK) so had the wrong bank details. It really left a negative feel to what had been a great holiday.

Essentially a good, if a little basic, apartment but difficult to communicate with the owners unless you have excellent French.

Quiet, cosy, refurbished, ideal for a couple

Nicely refurbished, small, quiet apartment in a perfect location for skiers. It is possible to start skiing down to the lifts from within 20 meters of the building and at the end of the day to ski back again. A supermarket is outside the exit from the ski lockers room and the covered garage is nearby. The bedroom is at the back of the building so no disturbance from noisy rowdies. The Nespresso machine proved very useful. The apartment is as clean as the last people left it. It is necessary to provide your own towels and bed linen, although it is possible to hire them online from a nearby laundry and, at extra cost, have them delivered. Good communications with the owner, who despatches the keys by post and provides an envelope to return them in.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

parfait appartement pour de bonnes vacances en famille ( 2 adultes 2 enfants)

Nous avons passé d excellentes vacances. L appartement n est pas très grand mais il est tellement bien agencé que nous ne nous sommes pas gênés. Il est très propre très agréable très bien équipé et très bien placé ( à moins de 5 min à pieds ou en ski de l Esf pour les enfants et à côté des commerces.)

Nous reviendrons !

Vraiment très bien

Nous (deux adultes et deux enfants) avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet appartement plein sud avec balcon, parfaitement agencé, personnalisé et décoré avec soin par les propriétaires.

La situation dans la station est simplement parfaite (ESF, commerces, restaurants, boulangerie, location de skis, achat forfait, etc..., le calme en plus !!!).

Le parking La Falaise voisin (à réserver au préalable) vous évitera à l'arrivée d'avoir recours à la calèche, au quai de déchargement (très anxiogène après un long voyage). Très appréciées des enfants et bonne surprise, les luges à disposition.

Après plusieurs séjours à AVORIAZ, nous recommandons vivement cette adresse. Certainement l'une des meilleures.

Amazing stay in an ideally located appartment.

We had an amazing stay as the appartment was very confortable and well equipped. If you want to be close to the action (without the noise) and ski ready first thing in the morning, this is the place for you. We also had an excellent relationship with the owner who answered all our queries promptly and professionally. An excellent stay in a great place.
