Lovely house in alovely spot
We had a lovely stay at Topgallant recently for a family gettogether. Overall the house is a great size and has everything you need. On arrival the keys weren't there as there had been a misunderstanding on our arrival date but this was quickly resolved and the property was quickly straightened out ready for us. We had a beautiful hot weekend and the house was in a perfect location for the beach.
I would just say the gardens were more overgrown than in the pictures, so the back one didn't feel nearly as big as it looked. Also the two double rooms are small, especially the one downstairs - I ended up sleeping with my daughters in the 4 bed room and left my husband on his own!
But overall a lovely stay and would recommend the property.
Perfect house in perfect location for a family get together for 10 people, couldn’t have asked for m
Hassle free holidaying
Top Gallant.....Top Property!
This property definitely lives up to expectations. It is every bit as good as it looks in the photos. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the whole house is extremely well equipped, inside and out, with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday.
Great location but actual layout different than photos :o(
Overall we had a great time and our party of 6 adults had plenty of space. The property is in a great location, 5 mins walk from the coastal path, with a newsagent about 10-15 min walk away and a decent Co-Op fairly near by. The front garden is scruffy and needs a weeding session but plenty of space for 2 or 3 cars, back garden now has 2 sets of tables & chairs seating 12 which makes the deck a little crowded but still space for a couple of loungers (6 or 8 fairly new recliners provided), with plenty of sun and shade areas on the grass, a fair amount of clutter tucked away - again needs a bit of a sort out as it isn't as pristine as the photos suggest. The property is very spacious downstairs with plenty of seating in the lounge (again different layout to photos), nice sunny kitchen with plenty of pots & pans etc - the dinner service is a modern square design, huge heavy dinner plates which are really awkward to stack in the dishwasher, we needed a replacement kettle and this was sorted out very quickly which was much appreciated. We booked this property as my elderly father has mobility issues and it had a downstairs bedroom, shower & loo (which it has !). The downstairs bedroom is tight for a double bed, no room for a bedside table & easily accessible lamp which isn't great, the downstairs shower is at the back of the house off a small hallway next to the utility room and the downstairs loo is tiny and off the main hall at the front of the house (again a bit awkward to get to), Dad used the sink in the utility room to wash & shave etc. The stairs are deff a no go area for elderly or small children - not much in terms of bannisters etc. Main bedroom is huge and sunny with plenty of storage - ensuite shower is poorly designed and floods the floor (extra towels for mopping up are provided !), 2nd double room now has headboard against the window, making it a bit awkward to open, no drawer space, could really do with a blackout blind as its very bright (therefore awake at 5am !!). Family bathroom is ok but not very big, no storage space and 1 tiny mirror, bath is tiny and deep. As I said we did have a great time and visited many of the lovely coastal towns, the location of the property means you are driving thru residential areas to get anywhere for the the first 5 or 6 miles - these are quite busy, especially around the school run times.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. There was plenty of room for eight of us and our dogs. Located near to Botony Bay beach, which was lovely, and it wasn't far from Broadstairs and Margate.

Botany Bay is one of the UKs best know beaches and just a short walk from Topgallant as well as two good eating pubs. Cliff top walks, two cliff top restaurants, beach cafe with deckchair hire and a cycle path! Broadstairs is looked upon as the posh part of the Thanet corner of Kent and you are in a nice quiet private road! Margate and picturesque Ramsgate are very popular summer destinations and offer historic attractions, boat trips, harbour or sea fishing, and modern galleries such as the Turner Contemporary. Supermarkets, fresh fish stallsand coffee shops are plentiful! Sandwich is a must visit historic town and has a casino, river boat and seal spotting trips. World Famous Canterbury with its Cathedral and city walls is a 30 minute drive. Dover Castle is a great day out with the World war two rooms below proving very popular. Rail access to London.
