The apartment has 2/3 generously proportioned bedrooms, large living/dining area, 3 spacious bathrooms and a private terrace. We can also arrange a private speedboat transfer, a little more exciting and costly, which leaves just 800m from the airport entrance and will take just 15 mins.

About Thea Robinson

We are a British family who first invested in a waterfront fisherman's cottage on the island of Brac(property no. 55026) in 2004 and fell in love with Croatia's wonderful landscapes, people and food. In 2013 we felt it was time to make a second purchase in this beautiful, historic centre of Split and were fortunate enough to find this very special property. In April 2014, we completed the project and are pleased to make this lovely apartment available for others to enjoy.

Thea Robinson purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Thea Robinson chose Split

It's a perfectly positioned, spacious apartment with its own very rare, private terrace in the historic Diocletian's Palace. The apartment offers access to a beautiful coastline, a great deal of Roman history and many excellent restaurants, cafés and shops. Even the local supermarket is a site of historical interest. There is an amazing fish and vegetable market a short walk away, as well as an abundance of bakeries for your freshly baked, daily loaf! Why not enjoy a two stop holiday in Croatia by booking some time in our Brac island property, no. 55026

What makes this apartment unique

We were instantly attracted to this wonderful apartment by the high ceilinged, generously proportioned rooms and private terrace all set within a site of Roman antiquity and so perfectly located for enjoying all the delights Split has to offer. We now feel able to offer a two stop holiday experience of Croatia by offering potential visitors the opportunity to enjoy the hustle and bustle city experience in addition to the beauty and relaxation on the island of Brac - see property no. 55026 for more details. Also, we are in the process of partnering with a Split based excursion company for 2016 which runs a variety of professional tours in Dalmatia to suit all tastes. Their focus is on the smaller group tour experience, which is of a very high standard. Guests of Prisca will receive a 15% discount of the listed price of all tours.

A piece of heaven right in the center of everything you might want to do in Split

  • 5 of 5

We quite enjoyed our stay in this glorious apartment in the center of Split Croatia. Baldo and his wife were very helpful in meeting us and getting our luggage there. There is one flight of stairs (the apartment is on the second floor). There is a wonderful 3rd wave coffee shop right across the street, with unusual (for Croatia) coffee offerings like Cold brew. The beds were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen well appointed. All appliances were easy to use and worked fine. Each bedroom is independent of the others, and the living room with the couch has pocket doors that easily close off. The patio is wonderful - we ate breakfast on it every day and just hung out for a glass of wine in the evening. Split itself is a wonderful vibrant city with an active nightlife, even in the fall when we visited. My only caveat on the apartment is that the auto parking is quite a distance away (on the other hand it's also free). We only needed our car when arriving/leaving so this was no big deal, but if you're planning trips using the car, be sure to plan some extra time to get there and back. Baldo fortunately helped guide me to get the car to and from the parking as with all the one way streets it wasn't necessarily easy. All in all - 5 stars. Clean. Convenient. Well attended. And the local managers are knowledgeable and passionate about their wonderful country. We quite enjoyed ourselves.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your kind and very comprehensive review of your stay Lee. We’re glad that you found both the apartment and Split to your liking. The point you make about the parking is a valid one and perhaps one we should clarify, because the reason Baldo uses it is that it’s free. There’s paid parking closer by, but the costs can mount up. The whole area of course, is pedestrianised, so guests shouldn’t expect to park directly outside the apartment.

Amazing property in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for 3 nights with four female friends. The apartment was even better than we expected, and in the heart of the Diocletian palace - absolutely perfect! The owners we exceptionally helpful in advance, and Gecko tours were brilliant and took care of us from start to finish, always going out of their way to be helpful. This is perfectly located for exploring Split, the islands and further afield. We cannot recommend this apartment and Gecko Tours highly enough. Thank you!

Delightful property in the heart of the old town

  • 5 of 5

A very centrally located property at the heart of the old town. Being on the 1st floor it was above the general hubbub of the restaurants and bars below. The apartment was spacious and had all that was required for our brief stay. I would certainly use this apartment again should the chance arise

Awesome, spacious apartment within the Diocletian palace area

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful apartment right in the old Diocletian palace area. We were 6 adults and had plenty of space. The apartment is just as shown in the pictures, with two large bedrooms and huge bathrooms. The 3rd bedroom is a good size as well, and is easily closed off with sliding doors at night. It also has 3 full bathrooms (again great for our group). Although there are several restaurants/bars just outside the apartment, it is very quiet at night once you close your windows (and enjoy the air conditioning). We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out and having drinks on the terrace in late afternoon / evening (while deciding where to go to dinner).

The property manager, Baldo, was great to deal with. Upon arrival, he sat down with us and provided lots of information on where to go, what to see, and where to/not to eat. We arranged all our airport and ferry transfers with him. He will even arrange to pick you up or drop you off at the ferry with a golf cart. This was quite helpful as we had quite a bit of luggage with 6 people.

Baldo runs the Gecko Tours company and I highly recommend the Split walking tour through his company. It was a very nice 2 hour intro to Split and its history. We also booked a personal tour through Gecko Tours to visit Mostar and the Kravice waterfalls.

Finally, Stephen and Thea were very easy to deal with and always responded promptly when asking them questions or finalizing our stay.

Without a doubt, you should try and stay here if you get an opportunity. You will love the property and be glad you did.

Beautiful apartment in a truly unique location ...

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four who stayed five nights at Prisca following a weeks stay at the owners other property on the island of Brac . What an amazing combination the two properties turned out to be - both very different but unique in their own ways. Apartment Prisca is a beautifully renovated, stylish and exceptionally spacious apartment located within the ancient Diocletian Palace itself. It is located in one of the quieter streets within the palace and overlooks a couple of small, attractive restaurants and cafes. The atmosphere itself is therefore really quite special - paticularly when sat on the terrace at the end of a day's activity with a glass in hand ! The owners, Steven and Thea, were always available in the background should we need anything and Baldo, the friendly and ever enthusiastic property manager always on hand to share his knowledge of things local! Nothing was too much trouble for him. He spent time with us recommending places and restaurants to visit - advice we took and we were never disappointed. From our base we explored the beautiful city of Split, Marjan Hill, restaurants in the Veli Varos part of town , local attractive beach areas (all within walking distance) . We also arranged a private day trip through Baldo with Gecko Tours to Krka National Patk, Sibenik and enjoyed a traditional meal with a local family ( highly recommended as a trip and as a company to book through) . A fabulous trip all round. We hope to return to Prisca and would recommend it without hesitation !

Split is perfectly located for exploring the whole of Croatia, as well as the islands. The Diocletian's Palace area is a UNESCO world heritage site. It provides much historical interest, but has all the attractions of a bustling city centre next to the sea - including a beaches which are only a short walk or bus journey away. Besides the many cafés, restaurants and shops, Split also has an opera house, indie cinema which regularly shows English language films, as well as a regular cinema. All in all, Split provides most travellers with the perfect combination of attractions to provide something of interest for everyone.
