This classic three bedroom chalet was completely renovated in 2006. Enjoy the comfort of radiant floor heating in winter and central air conditioning in summer. Spend the evening sitting in front of the new gas fireplace. The kitchen is a joy to use, with gas stove, dishwasher and high end appliances. This chalet has two decks, with a gas grill off of the private rear deck to use during the summer. Enter the home thru the large family room. Send the kids downstairs to watch TV while you watch the good shows upstairs. Designed with the family in mind, sound proofing in the walls lets adults relax in their master bedroom while the youngsters play in the den. The washer/dryer lets you keep up with the family during the stay. Located less than 500 feet across the road from Thusis beach, the most private and largest beach in Edelweiss, this guest home is an ideal family spot to stay, summer or winter, whether you explore the local area, or just hang out at the beach.
Children's Playhouse: There is a screened children's playhouse in the back yard with 2 bunk beds, perfect for the camping adventure for your little ones.
Our grill policy:,
We provide a grill for your convenience . We don't clean the grill as a rule . We used to ask our guests to leave the grill clean at the end of their stay but many times the cleanings never happened. So we've concluded when you arrive, plan to clean the grill when you plan to use it . This way guests who use the grill are responsible for cleaning it just once . It is the fairest and most economical way to deal with this.

About Holly (Owner)
Our chalet was purchased in 1992 with the idea that this home would be a future retirement home. We've been updating ever since with major renovations during 2005 - 2006 . For more than a decade we've been offering our future retirement home to short term guests . We've enjoyed meeting hundreds of guests over the past decade and have been happy share our retirement vision.

This special home has been in our family for 25 years. it has been lovingly cared for. We find the location really convenient to North Conway and we love the proximity to Big Pea Porridge Pond . The location is great for summer or winter . The first time we checked out the area out we were amazed at the sense of peace we felt sitting out on the deck or in the back yard while watching a fire .
What makes this Chalet unique
During the winter we offer the home on an extended seasonal basis. Our home is very convenient to King Pine and Cranmore Ski Areas.

Serene is a perfect description
We stayed here the Thanksgiving week. Usually when in New Hampshire we just use the rental for a home base but this time we just relaxed and this chalet was great. It is clean, well maintained (with a caretake only a call away if needed which we didn't), easy to find and from the moment we got there I didn't want to ever leave! It is out of the way of the hustle and bustle of North Conway village but less than 15 minutes away. There were 4 adults, almost female teenager and a ten year old boy (my grandchildren). There was always something to do, especially having wireless internet and cable TV. I don't think any of us were bored for a moment. Summers must be great with the multiple beaches within easy walking distance. Love it, love it , love .......... Thanks, Holly & Terry
Serene yes, Clean NO
This was my second time staying at this property. Both times my family had to come in and clean the place before bringing in our things. The first time we had spiderwebs in the light fixtures, the bunk house was filthy and minor cleaning but this last time will be our last time. The place had sticky stuff all over the kitchen table and chairs. We found items left in the cushions of the sofa and love seat. We found a dog chew sticks under the bed. Ledges had not been dusted or wiped down in ages. We FILLED the dust pan THREE times. The mattress pads were covered with hair and sand and had to be washed before we could cover them. When I called the owner I got a response of that happens sometimes. The place itself is very serene once cleaned. It has a nice layout. I do not go on vacation to clean someone else mess. A cleaning fee was charged to me and I left the place cleaner than I got it. For the price we paid I was very disappointed.
These remarks are not about what they seem on the surface. This guest stayed with us during July 2014 and again in July 2015. Before departing from their second stay, this guest sent us an email requesting to book the same week in 2016. Comments implying otherwise are disingenuous.
Our rates are typically set for a few months in advance. In summer time we publish rates up to years end. Looking at our rates section during summer 2015 it was obvious that 2016 summer rates had not yet been set. Before I had a chance to respond to this guest, we received an email (7/24) where she showed a copy of her computer screen with what she claimed was my quote for a summer 2016 July week at less than 1/2 our regular price.
The quote was generated by the Home Away Instant Quote Tool. Prior to this incident, I was unaware that Home Away Standard rates had no expiration dates. I learned the tool would generate future date rates clearly beyond the period that set rates were intended to cover. The tool fault appears to have been partially corrected recently.
Regarding this guest, after staying with us and in the area for two seasons, it must have been obvious that the "instant" rate quote was in error. After all, no one offers half price summer weeks. When we responded to the inquiry we offered our regular 2015 rate.
There are always going to be people looking for unrealistic price concessions and when they don’t receive what they have convinced themselves they were entitled to, they complain loudly. We think when she saw the online quote, she jumped to the conclusion that this huge price concession was hers. Her comments therefore are all about her disappointment in not being able to obtain an unrealistic price break. Keep in mind this negative review was only written after receiving a typical rate quote.
When we discovered the quote tool created unintended quotes we specifically added text to our VRBO ad stating we have no control over how the quote tool works and therefore The Only Valid Quote for Our Rentals is the One That is Emailed Directly From Us.
Regarding cleaning, we hire and have professionals service the guest home between every stay.
The results that we get from our services are typical for the area.
Please note outdoor items such as the bunk house, and lawn furniture will not be serviced between stays. Outdoor amenities are dirtied by weather and may need cleaning before use.
Great Vacation Home
This was a beautiful vacation home with plenty of room. We went with my daughter and son-in law and grandsons.. Place was incredible and close to everything. The little lake was ideal for my grandsons. So much to do.. and close to everything. Great for a day of just hanging around or going to the local attractions. On a scale for 1-10 I would give this place an 11
Our family had such a wonderful time at this home. The place had all the comforts of home, as well as things you didn't want like noise and traffic. The owners were easily accessible and very sweet. We were able to bring our dog, who also had the best time. The property was very clean and the layout of it was perfect, not cluttered in any way. Already checking our calendar to go back. Beautiful Home, Great Location !
This home is your home away from home! All the amenties and more. Owner describes the home exactly as it is. It is located in a village that is clean and friendly. Several small beaches within the village and a larger pond. It is not too far from tourist attractions yet it "feels" far enough away. The home is very well maintained, very clean and very spacious. The master bedroom's bed is very comfortable. The caretaker is accessible if you need anything. We rented another property from this owner last year and it too is a great property. We love it that it is pet friendly but don't worry about it smelling like animal. The home is very clean and well taken care of. Serene Getaways owners are very professional and take great pride in their properties. I highly recommend this property to anyone and I recommend trying any of Serene's other properties -- you will not be disappointed.
What a house, what a stay!
Me and my 2 dogs stayed there for three weeks this May (09). I loved it more than my own place! Soooo clean! sooo well furnished ~ in a comfortable, thoughtful and pretty way.. the radiant floors, the lighting, the upstairs, the downstairs, the bathrooms, the balcony, all the windows (!) and the bright light coming in through them.. the owner was available at every call, and Paul the caretaker came twice to check/take care of things. At the end I told Holly she was one of those rare renters who don't just do it for profit but out of the spirit of excellence! I had a luxurious, peaceful, amazing stay at this chalet ~ :) Yoanna
Located in Eidelweiss Village, with 5 private beaches on the Pea Porridge Ponds for your use. Paddle your way around Big Pea Porridge Pond, or spend the afternoon swimming and lounging at Thusis Beach, just a few steps from the house. Located just 2 miles from the entrance to the Kancamagus Highway, you can take the family to the many picnic areas or take hikes along the beautiful trails. King Pine and Mount Cranmore are just minutes away for wonderful family skiing. Or drive a little further for the challenging skiing at Attitash or Bretton Woods. North Conway is just 7 miles away. Take a ride on the Conway Scenic Railway, or spend some time in the wonderful shops or outlet malls.

Ski: We are located 4 miles to king Pine ski resort, 5 miles from north conway village ( 7 miles to cranmore) and about 12 miles to attitash.
