So sad to leave, can't wait to return!
We had a terrific weeklong stay at such a wonderful house! The home is even better than it looks in the pictures and the location can't be beat! It is a 5 minute walk to town and ~10 minute walk to Fuller St. Beach. There are two bedrooms upstairs along with a full bath and downstairs has two bedrooms, including the master with a king bed and a room with bunk beds.
The owner was extremely communicative prior to our arrival at the rental and while we were there he checked in on us to make sure everything was in order.
I would highly recommend staying here, and assuming we make the cross country trip again next year, we definitely will be back to stay here next year!
Perfect home walking distance to shops/restaurants
Upon arrival we were pleased to see the house was located in a quiet part of town, yet still very convenient to all the best shops and restaurants. The owner has thought of every detail you could need to have an enjoyable stay in Edgartown. One evening we went over to Menemsha to have a lobster dinner at sunset. The home comes with a beautiful picnic basket complete with plates, napkins, a cracking utensil, forks/knives and a blanket to lay out on the beach. This basket made for the most perfect lobster dinner at sunset, along with the most breathtaking views imaginable! We enjoyed the home so much that one night we even chose to stay in and play boardgames, which are also provided by the owner. The cottage has a coziness to it, and I felt right at home as soon as I unpacked my suitcase! Between all the details that the owner has taken care of and the perfect location, we couldn't be happier we chose this home to spend our vacation in.
This cottage was absolutely perfect. Not only is the house well-maintained, but the overall vibe of the property could not be more fitting for the Vineyard. It is quaint, homey, and overall extremely pleasant. The cottage is also situated in an ideal location, as Edgartown central, the beach, and the bus stop (an absolute necessity for visitors without a car!) are all within a reasonable walking distance... and by "reasonable," I mean that the walk is completely doable in the pre-caffeine, in desperate need of a Behind the Bookstore or Espresso Love americano, I'm going to will myself out of bed into town to begin the day over a cup of joe state of consciousness. With that said, the owner generously provides you with a bag of possibly the best coffee I have ever had in my entire life from Small World Coffee (how can you argue with a blend called Rocket Fuel?), so on the mornings that you don't feel inclined to stroll into town, you needn't fret.
Some absolute musts while staying in the cottage:
–O U T D O O R S H O W E R... I highly recommend nighttime, candle-lit showers
–Behind the Bookstore Cafe– their teas are amazing!
–taking the bus to Oak Bluffs for potato chips and sushi at The Outlook
–Ben and Bill's Ice Cream in Oak Bluffs
–Scoop Shack Ice Cream in Edgartown
–Island Spirit Kayak and Paddleboard rentals
–Skyhigh Kiteboarding... though be forewarned– the first few lessons will consist of you "body dragging" (i.e. being yanked along by the kite) whilst bobbing up and down in the Cape Podge Bay (don't worry– it's only 10ft deep) playing the shark music from Jaws over and over again in your head for about 3 hours at a time. It's totally worth it, though!
–Any other recommendation listed in the owner's bound booklet of suggested activities, restaurants, shops, etc. (the owner really knows his stuff!)
Cozy, convenient, and filled with character
My boyfriend and I rented this adorable cottage from November through May and wish we could stay forever! Everything about it is authentically New England and wonderfully old school Vineyard. We were very cozy and comfortable and enjoyed short walks to restaurants, the backyard and patio, and walking to the beach regularly. The owner is also very kind and was so helpful any time we had questions.
Best time of year to visit Martha's Vineyard
Just came back from a week in Edgartown at the most adorable cottage ever. Simply perfect location, within walking distance to shopping and the lighthouse. Everything about the house was first class. The cottage was neat and clean. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were dreamy, the patio was a great place to gather. Would strongly recommend taking the (3) hour tour to acquire information about the history of Martha's Vineyard. The owner left us a welcome package on the dining room table that was extremely helpful with ideas of things to do and places to go. The sunset at Menemsha Beach is a must. Back door donuts is also a must. The weather can be a little iffy at times but there are games and puzzles there to enjoy. We weren't sure going during the off season was the best idea, but now I wouldn't go any other time. The vacation was simply perfect and we can't wait to return.
Fabulous Fall Weekend!
We stayed at this lovely home for a girls weekend, and the house was perfect for our needs! Within walking distance to town, beautifully decorated, an excellent outside shower, what more could you ask for! We highly recommend for a great weekend getaway !
Two blocks from Fuller Street beach, Edgartown Village Harbor, shops, and restaurants are all just a (5) minute walk away.
