You CAN come to the mountains and relax!
New winter rates!
New master bedroom and bathroom added! It's beautiful! New laundry room! 2nd flat screen tv (60") added. More deck area added overlooking Mary's Lake!
My quirky, cozy little home (1,500 sq ft)is sitting on a knoll over looking Mary’s Lake in Estes Park, CO. It is available for your Rocky Mountain getaway.
Only four miles from all the events and shopping of down town Estes. Available for Memorial Day and Labor Day Craft Shows, Rooftop Rodeo, Scandinavian Festival, Scottish/Irish Festival, Elkfest, on and on.... The Cottage is just a 5 minute drive to the south entrance of Rocky Mountain State Park for all the hiking, fishing and outdoor activities you can think of. You’ll be seeing elk everyday and even get to pet one if you like.
There are 22 feet of floor to ceiling windows for a clear view of glorious mountain ranges. The beautiful, glistening Mary’s Lake can be seen from this bright, high ceiling living room. You can walk down the hill to the lake for picnicing, fishing for trout and wading. Wild elk and deer are known to walk right up to those windows to munch the grasses.
The wrap around deck is great for sipping your morning coffee in a beautiful setting and perfect for sitting out at night under the moon and stars – The stars seem so close you might think you can reach out and touch them.
The kitchen is at your disposal and a grill outside is perfect for the barbeque chef. Three comfortable bedrooms give plenty of room for sleeping. There is a queen pillowtop bed in the master bedroom with 50"flatscreen TV. There is a pillow top full bed in the second bedroom and the third bedroom has a full bed with a comfort topper. A gueen Aero bed is available. There is a 60" flatscreen TV in the living room with Direct TV and plenty of DVD movies to watch. Wireless internet is available for those who can't leave the computer home.
Your small doggies are welcome, too! So, bring the 'whole' family! Just let me know who's coming. There's plenty of empty space outside for walking and playing with your doggies.
HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!

Thank you for the use of your charming home. It was our first experience with VRBO and definitely something we would like to try again. I hope you or your guests can utilize some of these coupons.
Overall our stay was very nice. Estes Park is beautiful. The home is wonderfully renovated and decorated. We had no qualms with the house or the surroundings. We enjoyed relaxing and hanging out together as a family.
The reason for my one-star review is a result of my interactions with the owner, Jane, after our stay. The home has a maximum of 6 overnight guests, and Jane would like to know of any visitors beforehand. Before our stay, I inquired as to whether we could have two extra guests on one night, and, as per her request, I notified her that we would have four visitors at the house during the day. I spoke with Jane over the phone about her rules. She was fine with the day visitors but very firm that we could have a maximum of 6 overnight guests. I understood her request, and we abided by these rules. Only six guests stayed overnight in her home (myself, my husband, our two sons, and my in-laws). Our visitors (my sister and brother-in-law and their two daughters) stayed in a hotel nearby, the Rocky Mountain Park Inn, for the one night they were in Estes Park.
After our stay, we were not refunded the damage deposit along with a vague explanation via email: “Next door neighbor reported that there were many more people staying overnight than the 6 people that were originally agreed upon.” When I called to discuss this with Jane she was unprofessional, disrespectful, and accusatory. She decided before even talking to me that I was lying about the guests. Several times on the phone she said she was done with the conversation and would not refund the money under any circumstances. She was unwilling to constructively work toward a solution or try to reach an agreement. Paraphrasing, she told me, "did you think if you called and complained I would just refund the money?" She stated that she had the right to refuse to refund the damage deposit for whatever reasons she wanted. (VRBO told me later that this is not the case.)
I filed a complaint with VRBO, and they reached out to Jane. We have yet to receive a response from Jane regarding the complaint. We ultimately sought a refund through our credit card company. Luckily, they helped to resolve the issue.
Many others have written very positive reviews of the property and Jane, and our experience may not be the norm. However, I want to share our story to illustrate Jane's lack of customer service skills and caution other perspective renters.
Estes Valley Cottage had Everything we could need for a pleasant stay. We enjoyed the books, the games, hot chocolate, elk, deer, and rabbit. The sunset and sunrise views were so stunning!
Thank you Jane for a wonderful stay in Colorado! Your home was so well equipped. It was definitely a home away from home! Everything from the kitchen to the movies and CDs was such a comfort. Your deck was our favorite place. Thanks for coming to say hi and making us feel so welcome. Easy in and out of the park and downtown that we couldn't imagine a better location. Thanks for everything!
Was a great place to stay. Awesome views ,very well-kept ,top-of-the-line . loved it! Will definitely go back!
Estes Valley Cottage is simply a FABULOUS place to stay !! First off, this lovely home is IMMACULATE.....and we are very, very picky. The home has so many unique furnishings...that even after several days we were still discovering new unusual "treasures". And then the BEAUTIFUL DECK.....three-quarters of the home is surrounded by a deck....all sides with a different and gorgeous view. We were so fortunate to meet the owner, Jane, on the first afternoon we arrived. She is so friendly, helpful and interesting... and she will do whatever she can to make sure you have the best stay possible. She maintains dozens of flowers and plants all over the deck and grounds and it is so relaxing to just kick back and ENJOY the serenity and beauty of the area. The views overlooking Mary's Lake and all the surrounding mountains are AMAZING. If you are a birder....you may never want to leave because there are numerous and varied birds that you can appreciate from the living room and the deck. Then the location is PERFECT.....it is close to Estes Park for dining, groceries, and shopping....but far enough away to feel you are in the "country" and not too close to the hustle & bustle of downtown. And it is also close (maybe 3 miles or so) to the Rocky Mountain National Park and all the spectacular sites and animals to enjoy there. We stayed at this cozy and luxurious home for 9 nights.....and were wishing we could have stayed longer!! We also thank Jane SO MUCH for allowing us to bring our little dog with us...Lexi really enjoyed her stay too !! We have stayed in several VRBO/Homeaway homes.....and this one was our favorite by far !! We certainly want to return to this area and if we do, we will definitely be staying at the Estes Valley Cottage again!! WE LOVED IT !! THANK YOU JANE FOR SHARING YOUR VERY SPECIAL HOME WITH US !!
My family and I cannot thank you enough for sharing your beautiful home. It had all the amenities of home and the views were absolutely stunning! My husband and I commented that out of all the places we have rented thru VRBO, your home made us feel most comfortable as if we were home. We loved that we were at most trailheads within 10 minutes from your location and if you took the back way to the park, you could avoid all the traffic in downtown Estes. Not to be mistaken, we did take one evening and head into town to walk around the lovely shops and eat at a local restaurant. Most of the time however, we would drive thru town on our way back from a hike (around 3:00 p.m.) and the traffic was less crazy and the restaurants were easier to get into with a party of 6. We loved having our morning coffee and breakfast on the deck watching the sun rise, so peaceful and serene, and the perfect start to every day.
Thanks again for such a memorable first visit to Colorado! We loved every minute of it!
