About Ingrid Schroeder
I am a professional that works on public policy issues at a prominent non-partisan non-profit organization. My husband and I split our time between DC and the Chesapeake Bay. We have 3 friendly dogs that we walk around the Capitol almost every day. I grew up in the suburbs of NY and have lived in DC for 25 years.
Ingrid Schroeder purchased this House in 2016
Why Ingrid Schroeder chose Northeast Washington
Before moving to this house in 2016 I owned a rowhouse in Logan Circle in DC. I moved because I was looking for a neighborhood that was more family-friendly and a bit quieter without losing easy access to downtown and all the DC sites. This neighborhood fit that bill! In addition, this house also has a basement apartment, where my husband and I stay when we are in DC. We split our time between DC and the Chesapeake Bay and enjoy spending time in both the urban and rural environment. We love sharing the house with guests while still being able to enjoy our separate apartment in the basement.
What makes this House unique
This house offers all the charm of a historic DC row house - but was completely rebuilt in 2011. So the inside is new, comfortable and modern. The house could not be in a better location - within two blocks of the metro and Amtrak, a few blocks of the Capitol, Supreme Court, etc., walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants and grocery stores, and close to parks and other amenities. The location is a perfect launching point for a DC vacation or business trip and provides the flexibility to eat out or at home. Don't be surprised if you run into a Senator or Congress person walking down the block or see a motorcade of an ambassador, cabinet member or others. The neighborhood is also charming and completely walkable. I am comfortable walking the dogs early in the morning and at night. I hope you love the house, neighborhood, and surroundings as much as I do!

Great house and perfect location
This row house is in a perfect location a couple of blocks from union station. The house is roomy, well furnished, sparkling clean with all of the amenities you need to prepare meals, etc. The air conditioning worked great and we were very comfortable despite the DC heat. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Ingrid was a great host and was very responsive.
Great place to stay if you are looking to see the sites in DC. We used the free circulator bus at union station to get to the museums and monuments. The property is clean and had everything to make you feel at home. The host is great and provides lots of tips and is easy to work with. The location is quiet and we felt safe. I would love to come back and stay here again! There is so much to see and do.
our DC stay
It is a nice house, close to all the things we wanted to see. Pat was easy to get a hold of when we needed.
Perfect DC Vacation Spot
This was the perfect location for our DC vacation. It was walking distance to the Capital, museums and transportation at Union Station. There were great restaurants that were nearby and the perfect stopping points after a day of sightseeing. The unit itself was ideal: quiet, immaculate, very comfortable and roomy, containing every amenity along with a fantastic kitchen. We felt like we were in a suburban neighborhood and not blocks from the seat of the American government. The owner was ideal to work with, very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We received insider tips on how best to explore the city. We would rent it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!
Will Be Staying Again!
I recently stayed at the house for four nights with friends. Ingrid met us at the house and briefed us on the location and where to eat and what to see. She was friendly and very helpful. The house was immaculate, it’s in a quiet neighborhood, and there was plenty of room for the six of us (one guy slept on the couch and loved it). Union Station and the Metro are two blocks away and the Capitol was close as well. Although this trip was for pleasure and
sightseeing, I plan to stay at the house when I’m in town for business. Great neighborhood and two good close Coffee Shops. I highly recommend it.
Great location!! Nice place - easy to get anywhere in the city!
If you need to stay near the Capitol or National Mall, look no further. This place will suit all of your needs.
This is a beautiful property and we were very pleased with the location and had plenty of space - it has a great kitchen as well. Everything was as advertised and when we arrived Ingrid greeted us and oriented us to the home.
We had an amazing time in DC and would look to stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay while in DC!
We enjoyed hosting your group! Please look us up on future trips to DC.
The house is just a couple of blocks from Union Station, the Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. Just a few more blocks and you are on the National Mall with access to the Smithsonian museums! Major grocery store (Giant) 2 blocks away with smaller markets even closer. Coffee shops within 1 block and restaurants in all directions.
