A great second weekend spent at the cabin!
This was our second trip that we have stayed at this cabin and it was even better than the first! The cabin was really clean and welcoming from the moment we got there. We loved having the fireplace that stayed going all weekend and even got to see some snow on Saturday morning! The cabin had plenty of space for our group to stay and a large common area for us to hang out and play games all weekend. We didn’t even leave the cabin! Will definitely stay again!
Nice place with all the amenities of home
The cabin was the perfect home base for all of our adventures around Banner Elk and Linville. It was stocked with everything we needed to make us feel comfortable and at home. There was plenty of space, and it was in a peaceful, quiet location. The only slight downfall would be this semi-steep gravel driveway if you don’t have four-wheel drive. Even with our truck, we had a little bit of trouble getting up because of how the neighbor parked at the turn of the driveway. It just made it a little difficult to get momentum. However, that would never deter us from staying here again!
Don’t judge a book by its cover.
Upon arriving to the property, we were greeted by another couple at the cabin next door. They were friendly and offered some great information on the town considering we were only staying one night. We got in to the cabin which from the outside looked awesome. Once entering, it looked just as appealing. The longer we stayed, the more we ended up wishing for more. I was with a group of 6. We all chose our beds. But come to find out, none of them had sheets ready to be put on and we had to search for them. We found a set of sheets sitting on top of the washer piled with towels that were still wet. Which made us think someone had just left and no one cleaned the property. As for the towel situation, we had to clean and dry towels just so we would have enough for our own use. The biggest kicker, there was only a half a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, with no additional rolls anywhere in the house. Had we been informed, we would’ve gladly brought our own. After spending more time relaxing and lounging around in the aging furniture, we found ourselves sneezing and getting stuffy noses. It seems either the owner or the previous renter had a dog in the house and it wasn’t cleaned up because our socks were all covered in dog fur. The next morning we woke up still with stuffy noses, straightened up as best we could because we weren’t provided any instructions on what should be done upon leaving the cabin. We left and locked up the cabin and carried on with our trip. We just wish there was more for the cabin for the price of a single night.
Dog Friendly was a plus
Cabin was nice and dogs loved it. There were some rock stairs and a short trail they loved to explore. The kitchen was well-stocked and it was more like staying in someone's home rather than a rental (full bottles of shampoo/conditioner, open bar of soap, things in the fridge, etc..). I liked that the check-in was simple and there were no rules.. just treat the cabin like it was your own... no laundry list of check-out rules or anything. Very easy-going and comfortable renting experience. Issues were cleanliness (just bathrooms), very windy road to get anywhere, hairpin turn on gravel driveway, close to neighbors (they were nice but had a barking dog). If it weren't for our dogs, I would choose another location, closer to town with an easier driveway to navigate (we have a large SUV). The cabin was comfortable and had paper towels and cleaning supplies which I appreciate in a rental. The bed was comfortable, shower ok, and they had WII which was fun.
Stunning location and view
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful home and view!!
