You’re sitting in the catbird seat in more ways than you can shake a stick at, and what a view you have while sitting there! Look below and watch waves roll in; look ahead (we're on the 17th floor) and on a clear day you can see France. So what am I referring to when I say the ‘catbird seat? You have a tremendous selection of outstanding condominiums to choose from. In many ways you cannot go wrong. Probably the most important thing to you is the price of your rental. Let me say quite simply, shop 'til you drop. Find a price more reasonable than ours, and I will beat it; assuming apples to apples.

As you read through the other listings that you may have an interest in did anyone mention their cleaning service? Hands down, ours is best. On the very off chance you find a speck of dust or a grain of sand, you will be given their phone number in advance. Call them to come re-clean. We have an advantage over other places where different cleaners parade through. We have the same housekeeper week to week and ours takes a personal interest in our place. We reward them well for the extra care they give. We also make it very easy to clean like having tile flooring in all the traffic areas (the bedrooms are carpeted). You will not start your vacation off on the wrong foot if we have anything to say about it.

And while we are talking about the wrong foot, check-in (4 PM) and check-out (10 AM) is a breeze; all done by mail and phone. Nothing starts off a vacation worse than a long check-in procedure. Certainly you have done that before and know the pain. Check out mapquest to see how easy we are to find: 102 N. Ocean Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC(South Carolina....don't put in France by accident!).

The Ashworth is similar to about a dozen high rises in the North Myrtle Beach area: oceanfront, indoor swimming pool, outdoor pool, kiddie pool, mega hot tub, lazy river, fitness room, ample on site parking. There are two very subtle differences between ours and all the others. It might not make a lot of difference to you but it did to us. Look at the picture to the upper left; to the right and left of that building are low structures which means the beach is less crowded. Going north on the beach is less populated because you enter an area where there are only houses. The second difference is our proximity to downtown of the city of Ocean Drive, an easy walk to lots of shopping and eateries. None of the other buildings are so conveniently located.

You might think of something to add to the condo before you go that would enhance your stay. I once had someone suggest a bread maker. We put one in. It rusted out before anyone made the first slice of bread. We did not learn our lesson. Every suggestion is a command to us.

My first priority is to make sure we meet your needs. The pictures certainly help to explain things. My rambling on is of some good as well, or at least I'd like to think so. But to tell you the truth.....and I know you like it when I do! I think it is the comments of our past renters that really add to your education regarding how suitable we will be for you. Please take a moment to read them. It will give you even a better feel for the place.

About Peter Cole

My name is Peter Cole, and I am the owner’s representative. I went to the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Presently live in Davidson, just outside of Charlotte, NC. I wear many hats: an oceanfront, resort, rental condo owner; property manager; rental agent; dog tender (That is Mazie in the picture. Spends most of her day on the rug by me at my desk.) and my favorite; loving husband to the beautiful woman in the picture with me. As a Medicare card carrying senior, I look back over a full life. My chosen life ‘occupation’ (my Mother could never bring herself to call it a job) was to take teens on a cross country camping trip; 3000 teens in all, spanning 33 years. My nephew, Doug Gill, slipped into my shoes as I stepped into my retirement. Now he has passed it on to Sassy Smyth. Curious? Do a google search, 'tctw'.

My friends and relatives worried about my having too much time on my hands in retirement so they gave me their resort properties to manage. My reputation as a good manager/agent grew. Now 12 properties fill my stable. It was 1967 when I took ownership of my first rental property. In the years since, I have bought and sold 11. I come to you with a lot of experience. In the Greater Myrtle Beach Area there are literally hundreds of four bedroom, oceanfront condos. You will certainly be on your way to being driven crazy if you read about them all. Owners in their write-ups certainly want you to think theirs is the best. I would rather leave that task to our past guests. They once walked in your very shoes. Three factors separate us from all the other condos: 1)We are the cleanest. 2)Best equipped. 3)Lowest priced. Come see for yourself.

Great vacation

We stayed in condo 1705 and we had a great vacation. Overall clean and well maintained. Had a few small issues arise but Vince and Peter made sure things were taken care of. Pool area could be bigger for a complex this size, but if you go for supper early many times we had the pool to ourselves. We had a group of ten (6 adults and 4 kids) and the bedrooms worked out real well. Hair driers in all bathrooms would be nice and none of the keys we tried to use for the restrooms at the pool worked for some reason, but it wasn't a big deal. Easy access to complex, places to eat and the Ocean! Great trip and would stay here again!

Mr. I love OD

We had the most wonderful time at this condo. We stayed for a week and we were blending two families, mine with a 17 year old and her boyfriend and hers with an 18 year old and her boyfriend and a 22 year old with her boyfriend. The views are amazing and it was the cleanest condo I have every stayed in at Myrtle Beach. The location was great because the kids could walk to downtown OD and it was very easy to get around to other attractions as well. Peter was amazing witht he hekp he provided in renting us the unit and everything he said was done as he said it would be. We will definetly be back.

the best condo we have stayed at the past 30 years

every thing about the ASHWORTH was what you described and then some My wife and daughters ( 4 grandchildren) had one of the best vacation ever .The unit was very clean . even my wife said so. Every thing worked all appliances t.v. etc. .The poole area was keept clean as well as the picnic area

condo review

My family stayed at the Ashworth the end of June. It was perfect! My husband, myself, our 3 kids as well as my brother and his family and my mother all enjoyed the condo very much. It was actually roomier than the pictures show. We had enough space for all of us and then some. The view was amazing! It is wonderful for children. There are many pools to choose from and the beach and ocean only steps away. We were surprised to find a small carnival just a block away from our condo which the whole family enjoyed. We have no complaints at all. When we return to Myrtle Beach someday, we will definitely be staying at the Ashworth again. Thank you for a wonderful, stress free vacation.

The Most Beautiful & Peaceful view !!!!!!

The condo is laid out very nice, if you have company they have their privacy. We love the location just off Main St, & yet it is very peaceful. The people that you have to deal with concerning the condo are the best ever :)....We stayed in the winter months....

Additional information about rental rates

When you make a reservation through VRBO/HomeAway there is a 7% Service Fee charged. We handle our own reservations, sending out Contracts and collecting rent. Because you are dealing directly with the owner you do NOT have to pay the service fee. In addition to the Rental Rate listed above there is an Accommodation Sales Tax (County, City, and State) of 12% total. We do NOT use the 'Book It Now' feature offered by VRBO/HomeAway because we do not want you to have to pay the fee associated with it. Weeks at Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years have a $200 surcharge. We rent by the week only, Saturday to Saturday. in the summer. There is a housekeeping fee of $90 and linen/towels of $85 (optional). When mailing in your Contract we request a 50% Advance Payment of the rent. Balance due 30 days before your visit. We prefer personal checks, but you may pay with a credit card (5% service fee). We offer full refunds ($75 service fee.) if you need to cancel assuming we can secure a replacement. Questions?
